Hubs and I came here for lunch. We've been wanting to try this place ever since we found out that Sorrento's has a breakfast section. Hubs had the pancakes with 2 over easy eggs and toast. He liked it and thought it was a standard breakfast and filling and great value. Lastly, I had the cilantro omelette with avocado and potatoes and toast. The cilantro omelette was a little sandy. They didn't rinse the cilantro enough. Hubs and I liked it, though. We never had a cilantro omelette and it gave us ideas on what to make at home. I was going to order the chorizo omelette but glad I changed my mind. Hubs wished that the avocado was a little riper. Coffee was great here. Service was friendly and quick. I have heard about this place from comments about local people. We don't usually go out and get lunch, but we had a 8pm dinner reservation, so decided to give this place a shot since we were nearby. We ordered a California chicken w/cheese hero. We were going to share. We thought the chicken was grilled due to the "California" in the name, but they said it was breaded - we said fine Turns out the chicken was 2 chicken patties - like giant chicken nuggets. I would have expected actual chicken cutlets. The chicken patties were the lowest quality I could imagine. Even the other sandwiches I saw being made seem to be mostly shredded lettuce and tomatoes with literally 1 or 2 slices of meat. Hero went straight in garbage after we each took a bite. Sorrentos will never get my business again. Yesterday, I went to their store and placed an order for 3 whole #2 subs. Th I s was purchased for a small family get together. I joined that the person who prepared the subs put no mare than 4 slices of meat and 4 slices of cheese on each sandwich. When I questioned this, he told me that this is what the owner instructed them to do. Since a few of my family members do not like vinegar and oil, I ask to have it "On the side". Much to my surprise, I had to pay extra for this to happen. How is it that I was charged extra for something when I did not want to have it on the sandwich? If I had the oil and vinegar put on the sandwich, I would not have been charged extra. I do not know what is happening with Sorrentos, but this is NOT the same sub shop that I remember. A few weeks ago, I purchased a meatball parm sub. Much to my surprise, the meatballs were half of the size that they were a mere 2 months ago. Not to mention that there was hardly any cheese on it. Here again, Sorrento's will no longer get my business. Moving forward, I will buy my subs from Bella Italia. They do not cut corners with their subs. Nor do they charge extra if I request to have what is normally included on the sandwich "on the side". This is such a shame. In an effort to reduce their operating costs, they are gouging their customers by charging much more for much less. read more

I love Sorrento's Subs. The first sub I ordered was a capicola, prosciutto, salami with provolone. Onion, tomato, lettuce, oregano and extra oil and vinegar. It had quite a lot of meat and was awesome The second sub was Roast beef with Turkey and Swiss. This one had Russian dressing, lettuce and tomato with salt and pepper. A excellent tasty sandwich. The staff were very friendly and quick. And the restaurant was clean and orderly. Great tasting and a lot of food. Two 18in sandwiches were 8 total meals. Got to love it. read more

They do have a decent seating area to eat at, which is perfect for a quick bite, but in this moment I'm leaving this review, dining in restaurants is currently prohibited. We ordered the #5 Super whole. All the menu items are largely displayed behind the counter which makes ordering nice and simple. They ask that you order your sub by the number it's listed as on the menu. For almost $12, we got a gigantic sub, I think it was something close to 18 inches. It could have easily been split between 4 people. Definitely get what you pay for here. The only thing I would have wanted differently with my order would be more oil and vinegar and less pepper. Otherwise this place was really great! I much prefer local places when it comes to getting subs, and I will definitely be returning. read more

The sandwich was mostly bread (not fresh) with very little meat and still looking for the mozzarella cheese. It was a Sunday so possibly not the regular grill staff. have been buying subs from Sorrento's since they were located on South Street. This is NOT the Sorrento's that it once was. Their Cheese Steak subs are very dry and hardly have any cheese. To say the very best, this sub was nothing more than a sandwich that one might get from a gas station convenience store. Several weeks ago, I placed a phone order for a #2 with lettuce, tomato, onion and extra, extra vinegar and oil. I got a sub without the onions and very little vinegar and oil. This is not the first time that I did not what I ordered. It is the last time that it will happen. There is aother place in Freehold called Bella Italia. For the same cost they deliver a sub with twice the amount of meat and cheese that Sorrento's gives. Not to mention that they have NEVER made a sub that did not meet up with what I ordered. I would have gladly paid twice the price for half the sandwich if the quality was better. Went with a whole #5. It was comically big. Each section was it's own sandwich. The meats all tasted the same and bland, and there was not a lot in there. There was a ton of lettuce, and Italian seasoning that was added before I was asked if I wanted it and before I could say no. Literally tasted like nothing. The potatoes were kindof wet, almost like they were steamed. They had no color to them, no seasoning, no crisp. We couldn't eat them the way they were and decided to refry them the next day. While we were adding them to the pan we found what appeared to be a pretty big piece of the plastic bag that the hash browns were originally packaged in mixed in with them. I really feel that the quality of the food at Sorrento's Subs has gone down. Yes the grounds have beautiful landscaping and the building is a throw back to the 1960's, but the food has really gone bad. What they serve as chicken parm is awful. I honestly couldn't eat the chicken as it was like rubber. There was hardly any cheese and the crust on the roll was so flakey it was almost stale. My buddy had the meatball parm and he said the meatballs tasted like they were frozen, and he had the same complaint about the lack of cheese and horrible roll. Pricing is great as is the overall selection on the breakfast side of the house. My favorites are the Broccoli and Cheese Omelet with crispy home fries OR the Pork Roll, Egg and Cheese sandwich with the aforementioned well done home fries. Always busy but you never have to wait very long for your order - just pick up your coffee and they deliver the rest. TVs and the daily newspapers make for a pleasant stay. But the way they handled business today during this pandemic left my wife in tears and will have me boycotting a place I've went to once a week for years. When people call ahead, you need to treat that as a priority. You can't simply ignore it because other people continue to walk in. For 40 minutes, no joke, my wife sat inside while people came and went ahead of her. She kept being assured "Just a few more minutes" while her order continued to be ignored. This was for two half subs. She is not a confrontational person so she refused to become a "Karen," instead she was brought to tears. I can't tell you how disappointed I am.
