I never give negative reviews for local businesses, but this will be an exception…read more I first went to this business three months ago, and had a great experience. I called in today as a return customer and scheduled an appointment at 10am, for a 2PM slot. I arrived early and the woman who I scheduled an appointment with let somebody else in the chair before me, which I figured was fine since my appointment wasn't for another 15 minutes. That haircut went until 245, when she said, "just give me a minute you'll be next," and then let another woman into the chair. Assuming that she could he running behind schedule and that this person may have been scheduled earlier than me, I waited an additional 30 minutes for her to be finished, and a third person, I assume a friend of hers sat in the chair and began getting helped. In addition, when I arrived, a woman who was getting her hair done mustve had a lot of product in her hair, which the hairdresser did not wash out before straightenting it, which resulted in a thick smoke filling the room. Multiple customers were coughing, and an employee put on a mask, but they did not let the door open, and the product-smoke remained in the room for another 45 minutes. A real shame, as I planned on coming back regularly. Will not be returning now.

I honestly have followed her from her first salon on Flatbush for years. Unfortunately I am currently experiencing terrible hair loss and my edges are very weak- but that's because I made a mistake and went to another salon on Flatbush to get a perm (Desiree happened to be closed at the time I went).. I am currently beating myself up for this decision. I am very confident that my hair will grow back- I have invested in many organic oils/ treatments & will ONLY continue to go to Desiree. I first found Yeimmy Dominican Salon when the salon I used to go to--just a block from me--closed…read moreunexpectedly. Since I work from home most days and needed my hair done the day before heading into the office, I searched everywhere for a new salon. That's when I came across Yeimmy's and decided to give them a call. Yeimmy was incredibly accommodating and took me in right after I finished work. From the start, she was attentive and took the time to discuss my hair concerns, especially how fine and fragile it is. She recommended a deep conditioning treatment, which left my hair feeling amazing. A couple of months later, I returned because I had hair extensions in and just wanted a wash, dry, and blowout. At the time, Yeimmy was in the Dominican Republic, but she connected me with Sandra--and I absolutely fell in love with her! Sandra was so gentle, thorough, and made sure my hair was well taken care of. She actually reminded me of my aunt from the Dominican Republic, which made the experience even more special. I was so happy with her work that I went back again a few weeks later when I needed my extensions done. I haven't been in a while, but I definitely plan to return. If you're looking for a salon that truly prioritizes hair health and takes the time to care for your hair properly, this is the place to go. One thing to note: Yeimmy Dominican Salon is on the pricier side compared to other Dominican salons. You won't find a $20 blowout here, so if you're used to budget-friendly pricing, be prepared. That said, as long as the prices remain reasonable, I personally don't mind paying for quality service. Highly recommend if you're looking for expert care and a welcoming atmosphere!

I'm always scared of getting my ends trimmed by Dominicans but she actually did a good job. I am extremely satisfied with the service at this salon.
