The store is a little too ultra-high-end luxury for me, but it is a legendary New York institution and a unique pinnacle of high-end shopping, so I don't mind following my happy wife around. This review is mainly, though, for the fragrances. There was a fragrance specialist named El-Aton Georges, who was eager to use his knowledge to help us, since I am so picky. He made it fun. It was like, "Okay, you may detect notes of this and that" even though I would be detecting opening notes of "a grandma apple putting her sandalwood cigarettes out into a bar of Irish Spring" or "a leather lemon changing motor oil while eating linen popcorn in a savannah rain, with end notes of Lil' Debbie Cosmic Brownie" So, look for El-Aton, and tell him I sent you. He is quite the Con-nose-seur and he welcomes you all.

I told the older woman who works there that I was interested in a certain designer. She brought me one gown by said designer and by the expression on her face I could tell she didn't approve of how it looked on me. I'm 5'8, 130 lbs. and, for a woman my age, I have a pretty good figure. She didn't bring me other dresses and seemed disininterested in me. You can find photos of any designer's collection online and most boutiques carry the same styles. It was not an exclusive to their store! I ended up buying a different gown from the same designer elsewhere. Now my younger son is getting married and I definitely will not be returning to Mieka.
