I've been coming to Sophia Day Spa for many years and I refuse to go anywhere else for my personal "manscaping." Services have always been excellent. Pedicures, mani's, and backwaxing have all been above expectation. Marie is a massage miracle worker, while Sophia and Sandy are an absolute force who go beyond to make their customers happy and satisfied. Prices are right in-line with other salons and they always accommodate when given a day or two notice. HOWEVER, I've seen a lot of princess and divas storm in, demanding attention, and treat these women like subordinates. Still, they are professionals who always greet even the sharpest queens with a smile, sheer kindness, and time when they can fit them in. I can't speak highly enough. Thank you Sophia and staff. Stay away! Sloppy work -nails lifted after 2 days not to mention discoloration. When I went back to complain to the nice lady, Sandy, about both, the owner intervened in our discussion and had the nerve to say the lifting was normal and it was my lotion that caused the yellow nails. Well, she just lost a customer. Bad, bad customer service! Owner seems more interested in selling knock off purses stashed away in the back (they only accept cash for those). I just had a pedicure at this Salon, when I went to check out the girl said there was a fee to use a credit card. The Pedicure was $38.00 (My stupidity for not asking the price first), then they charge me an extra $3.50. For that price my pedicure could have been alot better. The salon was very clean. They had so many nail polish colors to choose from including the mood changing gel colors. Sophia did my Mani/pedi. She was so friendly and did such a great job with my nails. I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure and they came to $55 which very is reasonable. I did have to make an appointment on Saturday morning because they were busy. My new favorite spot. read more

I am sure the services are great~ I wouldn't know... I could not help but give it a 3 since the hours posted on every website states salon opens at 9:00 a.m. and when I got there signs on door say 10:00 a.m.. Not sure who would be at fault~ none the less it's a disappointment when you are on a tight schedule. I went for a Pedicure 3 days ago which was done by Sophia. She used a metal grater on my feet and cut my foot in the process. She applied pressure for 5 minutes and also used some drops in another attempt to stop the bleeding. These drops stung and it was painful. She did apply a bandaid and was very apologetic. Because of the bleeding she did not do the foot massage or apply moisturizing cream to my feet. She still collected $30.00 from me for an incomplete pedi. I have had continued pain in my foot so went to Urgent Care today. I was treated for Cellulitis with an antibiotic; and also had a tetanus shot. This was a very unpleasant experience and I would never go back there. read more

So it has been nearly four months, and I have become a regular. Sophia connected me with the other masseuse, Marie. At first I was skeptical, but given the great work of Sophia it was easy to trust her instinct. And she was right. I have been working with Marie for the past three months, and he is doing a fantastic job. There is noticeable improvement after each massage. Marie too bases her work on what is needed and not what I say. The overall atmosphere can be daunting at first, but soon you find yourself part of the family. The only negative reviews I see are about a one time quality of work issue. I recommend they say something, and/or try one more time. I have never had an issue, and when I am there I don't ever see an issue. Often they always do their best to accommodate the customer - but not at the cost of another customer. read more

I went here for a color change on my toes which was fine. I then went in to have my brows waxed. I told the girl who was working on me that I have an eye condition where it is very important that no pressure be put on my eye, as it would cause damage to my eye. She acknowledged and confirmed she would be careful not to do so. I reminded her of this a few times as she was working on me. And then she forgot, and placed pressure on my eye. She apologized for forgetting, which I appreciate but the fact remains that her actions caused unnecessary progression of an eye disease that is IRREVERSIBLE. I've had this done at several salons where this has not been an issue. My toes look great and that is wonderful... but not worth what it cost. Angry? Yep. read more

I used to go to this nail salon for a couple of years until last year. Sophia is so irresponsible. She opened up her shop the day that it was flooded and people fell down on the floor and she did not give a hoot she just wanted them up and out of there. I feel sorry for the nail techs, because they have to work with outdated polishes. People come in every time you were sitting there complaining about their nails chipping off after having them recently done. Another friend of mine went there and got a nail infection and she told her about it and she just blew her off so I would advise anybody that's thinking of going there don't bother because it's not always clean. I guess she takes loyalty for granted. You won't last long with that attitude when there's an abundance of other places surrounding you. read more

I had the worst manicure ever! The nail polish was old and clumpy. The manicurist butchered my cuticles. Will never go back. My friend got a pedicure and they didn't even trim her cuticles. Her nail polish was diluted it took 3 coats and still was not good. read more

I've been here a few times: for manicures, brow waxing and pedicures. They are very friendly and have always done a good job. Nothing fancy, but quick and good. My only complaints are that on occasion, they've made some inappropriate comments to me that were somewhat embarrassing but it's okay, I'll live and it did not stop me from going back. As for getting my brows waxed - it's the only time I've ever had two people work on waxing my eyebrows but whatever, it worked - it was just a little different. I've been going to Sophia's for a little while now. The owner Sophia is wonderful. She is very accommodating, even opening the salon an hour early so I could get a mani/pedi! I've had bikini and leg waxes here as well and they are VERY reasonably priced and do a great job. When I can't get to my regular esthetician (who lives in Randolph), I don't hesitate to get my wax from Sophia's. read more

I have been a regular patron of Sophia Day Spa since they opened several years ago. It is very convenient and, in general they are very accommodating. The salon is clean and I have never once had an infection. Service is somewhat variable among the different technicians. I generally go to Sophia for both hands and feet; she is a master technician and can resolve just about any issue or problem. I particularly appreciate her ability to give me a pedicure as my feet are very sensitive and difficult to work with. She is very patient. I've also had my toes done by Francesca who is very sweet and I have been very happy with her work. Sandy and Marie are nice too. read more

I love that I can always walk in for a wax or pedicure and someone is always available. So it is very convenient.

Went in with my daughter for a prevacation pedicures. The most painful experience ever. Quality of work was low, the polish looked like it was applied by a 10 year old. The technician did not even try to do a good job. Not recommended. read more

I have been going for over a year to get nails done and eyebrows waxed. The place is not the nicest looking but the service is good. I went today and the "new hire" did my pedicure-no message at all but good job otherwise. Then she goes to do my manicure and I asked for it to be cut shorter when she showed me just one nail-she cut it so short you could see red! She then cut the rest of the hand and it was super super short-below the skin line!!! I then asked for another person to do the other hand. I had a bit of blood on that one finger-they said sorry but no discount and the hand was cut way too short so the other hand I asked to be a bit longer...I will NOT be going back. Go to the nail place at the Natick Mall near Bank of America-I will take the drive next time, I went once there and it was much better and slightly cheaper. read more

Will not be going back. Have gone about 8 times and most of the time was pretty good. This time I asked for a pink french gel manicure and a pedicure. The woman who did the pedicure cut one toenail so short it still hurs to walk three days later. The pedicure looks like I did it myself. A different woman did the manicure while I was in the pedi chair and decided she would use a clear gel with sparkes which I did not realize until she was done. I am not 12 and I don't like sparkles on my nails. I did express my dislike but was offered no discount. I did not have time to sit another hour to soak it off and redo it. They do a great job on eyebrow waxes, pedicures, and manicures, and an okay job on acrylics. They don't really seem to be too organized though, and their "appointments" are never on time. read more

I have been here a few times and have always liked my pedicures BUT it is just not clean. Even if the pedicure process itself is clean ( and I am not sure it is) , it isn't a good sign that the place really needs dusting and and overall cleaning.....like the seats are spotted with dirt , etc. read more
