Unfortunately, the experience with the Waldorf office staff was the opposite. From the beginning, the staff repeatedly told me that my insurance would not cover the exam and tried to push me to pay out of pocket. When I attempted to pay, their card machine was not working. I agreed to pay over the phone later since I did not have my physical card with me and usually use Apple Pay. I was also told that the procedure I needed would not be covered by my insurance. When I left, I was given what I thought was my receipt. Shortly after, the receptionist called and informed me that she had accidentally given me another patient's receipt that contained all of their personally identifiable information. We agreed she would come by my home to pick it up and provide me with the correct receipt since she lived close by. I was told the fee would be waived because of the inconvenience. However, that same fee was later processed and paid by my insurance company -- the same fee the office said would not be covered. Afterward, I called my insurance company about the other procedure and learned that it is actually covered at 50%. When I called the dental office back to ask them to submit it for pre-approval, the receptionist was adamant that she was not submitting anything to the insurance and insisted that I get confirmation in writing from my insurance first, as if submitting a claim would cost the office something. Dr. Smith himself was great, but the front office experience was frustrating, inaccurate regarding insurance coverage, and concerning given the mishandling of another patient's personal information.

As other people have mentioned, I truly appreciate that Dr. Sisel performs only the procedures that are needed and none other. He does not evaluate his patients as billing opportunities and 'find' work that isn't going to benefit the patient, but only his pocketbook. On my last visit he mentioned to me that other dentists in the area are providing services that are marginally beneficial at best. Dr. Sisel doesn't do this. I remain an appreciative patient.

I called Dr. Rogers and spoke to his office assistant before I made the first appointment, and she explained that Dr. Rogers would work with me until we found a solution. And that's exactly what happened. Dr. Rogers listened carefully to my history and account of what went wrong or what I found intolerable about the other remedies I tried. First he tried one type of appliance, but I couldn't sleep with it. Dr. Rogers patiently went back to the drawing board, and then came up with a customized device that has actually ended my snoring and allowed me to sleep comfortably. It was a brilliant solution. As a result, I am writing the most positive review I have ever written for a medical professional. I would recommend him to anyone with any type of dental problem, not just snoring, because he listens so carefully and is so committed to finding a solution to problems within his area of expertise. I was about to leave to serve overseas and needed relief from the TMJ pain fast. Dr. Rogers sent me for an MRI to a specific place that was the only one that could get the images right. That should have been my red flag but I was looking for a relief so overlooked that. Dr. Rogers then interpreted the results for me and told me my disks in the jaw joints fell out and only an appliance that would not be covered by insurance could help me but that was not certain and I still might need surgery. I paid $1,500 out of pocket for an appliance and left for overseas. Within days I learned the appliance made my pain much worse so I had to go back to my normal night guard and pain killers. Then someone suggested acupuncture and I have been TMJ pain free since. I am sorry I wasted so much money for a poor advice.
