There is another large lab provider in the area but they are inconsistent with their hours and are often closed due to staffing issues. My husband and I started going to Sonora quest and were very pleased with the experience. Place was clean and staff friendly and efficient. My frustration is with the billing... we have been with the same insurance for 36 years and labs are at no cost. Yet we receive bills... not much but odd. Contacted billing who said insurance rejected due to co-insurance which there isn't. So it appears the billing dept is providing that. Last blood draw I confirmed with the staff that they just have the one primary insurance and she confirmed. Both Sonora and our insurance confirm that they are a network provider. I'm not going to dispute the bills, not worth it as they will turn them over to collection and harm our credit. All we can do is go elsewhere. read more

I'm not sure if this place really is incompetent or if they are scamming people! If you are getting anything other than routine blood work stay clear of this place! I was having some tests done that are not your run of the mill tests. Story goes like this... I wait an hour past my appointment time (this should have been the first red flag). Once in the back, I notice it is taking the lab tech extra long to put my lab order in the computer. I ask if everything is ok, lab tech says "yea, having a little trouble with one of these tests, can't seem to find it" (second red flag). About a minute after I ask if everything is ok the lab tech leaves the room, comes back with another lady. They are both looking at computer, tech 1 say's I'm not sure which one to use (third red flag), 2nd tech say's I think it's that one (fourth red flag). The second tech leaves, not 2 seconds later a third tech comes in, and say's that the second tech wants her to check and make sure it's the right code (fifth red flag). Finally, after an hour of waiting after my appointment and 20 minutes in the room trying to figure out what code is correct I finally get my blood drawn. Fast forward a week and half. I hadn't seen anything come through my Insurance via my portal (I have had issues with Sonora not billing my Insurance in the past), so I called Sonora, and low/behold the rep tells me "Oh, your claim is on hold pending a letter from your doctor saying that this test was needed", say what?! The rep then proceeds to tell me that the test that was put in the system is not FDA approved! My mind is blown!!! Now I know why it was taking so long for the lab tech, instead of informing me that she could not find the correct code for that test she decided to find a code that closely matched the test I was suppose to get. It's still too early to get a bill because they still have not billed my insurance. I am be proactive and letting people know. I am also filing a complaint with my insurance and the BBB. If needed I will escalate to the district attorney's office. I should not be on the hook for a lab test that is not FDA approved, I should have been informed, and given the option to opt out! read more

I made my annual appointment at the Ainsley Sonora Quest in Prescott. Making the appointment online was super easy. Angelica was my Tech. To say she was OUTSTANDING is an understatement! My veins are terrible for drawing blood and I told Angelica that. But she didn't even blink. Before I even realized, she was already doing the draw! I felt nothing! Don't leave anything there. I was the last patient they saw yesterday and left something behind. Called and left a message that I'd be back to get it and when I got there at opening they said 'oops the cleaning crew stole it, sorry' like it's common practice to just have things get taken from that office. So either they're used to the cleaning crew taking things, which raises serious concerns for patient information and privacy, or one of them took it. Either way, seriously disappointing. read more

The staff is friendly however, I would not recommend taking your small children here. Improper training or lack of experience with children, has led to multiple unsuccessful visits and a collapsed vein of my 18 month old. Improper technique is the only thing to blame with a collapsed vein on a baby who has never used needles. Pediatrician's; I would not recommend sending your small patients' here. read more

I'm absolutely disgusted with this location. Not only did I phone up Sonora Labs months ago and got the codes for each of the routine preventative services for my free yearly physical, I also got the codes from United healthcare as well. These codes along with what they should be billed under I put on the order requisition form that was handed to Sonora Labs when I walked in. I then said to the lady when I went in there 'This should all be billed as a routine preventative service. For some reason if any of these blood draws you are going to do, if you're going to charge me for any of them then don't do it." Weeks later being today I then get a bill for $37.80. I'm going to contest it, and I would avoid this location all costs. read more

I will never use Sonora quest labs again. my doctor requested labs be done for my medical condition. I did the lab draw then weeks later I received a bill from Sonora for 165 dollars when I ask them why they billed me they said that's the way the doctor submitted the paperwork. I talked to my doctor and ask him why I got billed he said they must have coded the bill wrong and that he had other patients tell him they were having the same problem. but the main reason i will not use Sonora is when I call the lab to tell them that my doctor said that it sounds like the lab coded it wrong and they need to talk to my doctor about the billing the lab personal told me that they do not talk to the doctors and that it would be my responsibility to get it corrected. great customer service. maybe they need a new code reader. read more

After 3 attempts to have blood drawn that needs to be sent to a lab in CA we may have accomplished it this morning. The first appt they related that the blood would not get to the CA in time so it was cancelled. Second appt after a 30min delay was completed and the wife reminded them that the blood must be sent to CA. Well it did not arrive in time to be analyzed. Third appt which was today which was made but Sonora Quest was completed. When the wife informed the tech that this fiasco had taken time and inconvenience she had no reaction. The employee ask the wife which test had to go to CA. Total incompetence. We will wait and hope. Of course the follow-up Dr's appt has to rescheduled because the analysis will not be complete. My first time here ate Sonora Quest. I had an appointment but came in early to see if I could get in first thing in the morning. There was a line before the doors were even open but I didn't have to wait that long. There were about 6 people in front of me and I only had to wait about 20 minutes. I have severe anxiety about giving blood after having a vagal response from a horrible tech digging in my arm trying to setup an IV. So I prefer to lay down when having blood taken. I explained this to the tech who switched rooms so I could lay down. She spoke with me to keep my mind at ease and was extremely kind. The experience was super easy and convenient. the waiting room is really small and it filled to capacity within 5 minutes of opening the doors so people had to wait outside. that was my only complaint. read more

My experience with taking my two small boys in was exceptional!! I cannot recommend the place enough! The gentleman and the lady were extremely professional and experienced with little kids. I had my blood drawn at my doctor's office. Six Months later I got a bill from Senora Quest for my co-pay. I stopped by to pay it and encountered the 20 something office staff. That woman was a mess. Undisciplined, and so unhappy with her life. I made a remark that the bill was send very late, to which she replied, "you are being rude". She repeated this 7 times. I asked what she was talking about and she said, "Well I don't care if you are in the red." A comment that made no sense. This is a classic example of a bad employee. I suspect they know this but are unable to find enough people to work there. Others have noted the same as myself. I will not do business with this Lab. read more

I had a very bad experience at Sonora Quest. I was there to have blood drawn and to return a 24-hour specimen. I checked in and asked the woman at the desk to take the specimen. She was the team lead. She said, I can't take it right now. I need to get gloves and I'm busy doing paperwork. She was quite rude and dismissive. I asked her if someone else could take the specimen snd she ignored me. Another phlebotomist overheard, put on gloves and took the specimen. I use this particular site often and refuse to tolerate rude behavior. She needs to be disciplined and counseled. read more

I did not have an appointment and walked in about 2:40 a few weeks back. There were two people. Check in was easy on the kiosk. The staff was very welcoming and professional. The phlebotomist was gentle, sweet and accurate. I did not wait long at all. I came with my prescription and there was a slight issue with codes which they rectified in no time. read more

I went to have blood work done and wasn't sure if I was at the right lab. After being told there was an hour and half wait I asked them to verify my doctor had sent work order so I would know if I was at the right place. I was told they would look for it when they called me IN AN HOUR AND HALF. I went to my car and called a different Sonora and they were more then happy to look for me. Excellent facility! Needed to get some blood work done for annual physical. My doctor faxed them the order. Walked in without an appointment, it was busy but not a bad wait (about 40 minutes). - Heck, I've waited longer at Cracker Barrel. Next time I'll make an appointment on line though. Everyone was very polite & friendly. Cheryl took my blood. She is one of the best! Usually I have to get needle poked a few times before they get one of my deep veins tapped. Cheryl was "one & done." Couldn't ask for a better experience. Highly recommend. read more

Needed to get lab work done for next follow up appointment. i was able to get ahold of some one on their national number and was told "you don't need an appointment ". This is the best experience we've had with a Sonora Quest Lab. The woman at the front desk, I didn't ask her name (dark hair .. tattoo on arm) was very helpful; we've been to Sonora before but this time we didn't have our insurance information. She said don't worry .... we'll find it in the system (that's something other locations have refused to do), she asked if we'd made any changes etc and then said, "no problem, have a seat we'll call you" (which happened immediately) .... Tesse was the woman who drew blood....success on the first stick, in spite of the fact that others have tried as many as 6 times saying my veins were very difficult ... she was not only good at her job...but personable as well. This place is horrible! Bad staff. This is my second bad experience here! I asked about how long was the wait to be seen because I needed to use the restroom, I had to give urine. I've waited in my car for 30 mins prior and was told it would be 30-40 mins, so just checking in to see how long it would be because I have a hard time holding my bladder. The rude lady (summer) assumed I wanted to cut in front of other people waiting in line, and was talking really loud that I couldn't cut in line, I never stated I wanted to cut in line and to push me ahead of anyone, so I asked how much longer and she said 30-40 mins, in addition to me already waiting that long lol. Then said I could try and pee alittle and hold the rest in lol. Just really unprofessional and dumb! I ended up waiting 2 hrs. Corporate needs to retrain this employee's at this location on how to communicate properly. If I could go somewhere else I would have. read more

The people who work here couldn't care less about you. They were out of the pin prick supply that they needed to do my test. Could not find my order and then when I called my Doc and had them send it over again, I sat in the waiting room for another 30 minutes while all these other people came in, checked in, and were put in front of me. They never checked for my order nor called my name. The girl at the front desk was way to busy stringing mini Christmas stockings on a string to be bothered with her customers. I left. I had been there for 30 minutes and she couldn't be bothered. They really need some new management because this is not my first horrible with this place. read more

I have been in Health Care for 30 years, I have never dealt with a more unprofessional bunch. They will have pts. waiting while they discuss their social life, take personal phone calls, lunch.Lots of scurrying around while pts. sit and wait for nothing to happen. Front desk staff are cringe worthy rude. Corporate needs to send an anonymous rep. to experience this dog and pony show. It is unacceptable for Pts. to be treated so poorly. I had a bill I had to take care of today and needed some labs done as well, but I was skeptical of the facility, given a recent review here on this site. The review is simply inaccurate for the following reasons: I had some questions about the origins of my bill, but that problem was immediately resolved by the billing department number. The ladies there are not the billing department and can only collect on them. They are also not a bank and have limited cash on hand, probably due to safety reasons. The girls there are awesome and pretty good at what they do. I've been going there for almost 9 years. If you're going to go there, Accept that what they do is largely dictated by policy, but that they are happy to help you in any way they can. read more

Came to this location a few days ago as a walk in for some labs. There were maybe 10 people ahead of me, but the wait was less than 45 minutes (not bad at all for not having an appointment). My phlebotomist was super nice and did a super good job at drawing my blood. Most doctors offices I have blood drawn at leaves a nasty bruise, but not after I went here! My results were posted online the very next morning, so the wait is short. read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. I have had to attend this facility for basic urine analysis twice, and the first time, I thought maybe I had come in on a bad day for the staff. The second time, only a few days later, I saw that this was just their general baseline. As a healthcare professional myself, both in the civilian and military sector, I was appalled at the little professionalism, disorganization, and unfriendly customer service displayed by both the check in window, and the lab technician, not only towards myself, but to the unknowing elderly who don't quite understand the difference between insurances at 80 years old. And how could they? Even I can't keep up with the changes! To lighten the mood, I joked with the check in staff I was sure ready to provide a urine sample, after drinking six glasses of water at home, and the eldest and what appeared most senior woman at the desk replied, coldly, "Well, you're still going to have to wait forty five minutes, just have a seat." New to Prescott, I am still learning the "good" labs from the "bad" ones, and this surely is a horrid excuse for a lab I have ever had the displeasure of attending. read more

I just got back from Sonora Quest Labs in Prescott and it was a NIGHTMARE!! I saw that it was open at 7 A.M. and so we were there at about 7:20 and the small waiting room was filled with people. There is a new way of signing in, and so I did, and then I realized that all of these people had made appointments. I have been here before and there was not a long wait, but the lady told me that it would be at least an hour and a half wait, and that there were no openings for at least three weeks out! The tv was blaring and then it would go silent for a while with some commercials and then blaring again with little snipits or different shows...a game show and then a cooking show which never finished...I ask one of the attendants to please turn off the sound, and she said she couldn't turn it off. I don't think that was true. It was loud and just a horrible experience! I will never go back there again!!!!!There was a huge area in the back with many rooms, but only one person to draw blood as fr as I could see!! And I asked her if it was busy all day long, and she said yes it was! read more

Had and 8:30 AM appointment, I was the only one there with "appointment" checked. Arrived early at 8:50 A.M. I was finally called after they were calling walk ins. Apparently an appointment does not mean much. Lab girl was curt, blood draw was painful and she failed to verify my name on sample only birthdate. I have lived in Prescott my entire life and this lab is constantly messing up bills, my credit for double charging me, even triple charging sometimes, they have NO change in the office so you can't pay your bill in cash easily without dumb remarks from staff. Last time we went in they said they couldn't make change for a dollar and that they couldn't take 48cents excess or it would be considered" theft". This place is a nightmare and I'm fairly certain that they are very improperly trained to bill anyone for medical services. read more

When something great happens, I often find a need to share it. I had a surprisingly wonderful experience getting blood drawn today, which, happily, is only a once a year experience for me these days, at the most. It was my first experience with Sonora Quest Laboratories and everything about my experience was TOP NOTCH. Samantha, the team leader, is everything you could want from someone who is going to stick a needle in your vein She is professional, cheerful, and compassionate, and eminently competent. Her team member, Marie, was also awesome and, wisely, had Sam draw blood from my extremely difficult to access veins (post breast cancer treatment, long story). Some of you may remember my upset-- outrage, really-- at how I was treated by a staff member at Lab Corp (formerly Bradshaw Mtn Labs) last year. I can only say, the difference between the two labs is like NIGHT and DAY! Both labs are in Prescott, right across from YRMC. They are right next door to each other.
