This SimonMed location deserves FIVE stars. I believe the few low ratings have been anomalous, which can occur at any busy medical facility. Having visited this location on multiple occasions and for various services, I can vouch for their stellar services. The addition of Christine at the front desk to ALL the techs, care & expertise is top notch. Pro-Tips: Consider the "cash pay" option. It is always more affordable than most insurance. I waited two weeks for the first available appointment to help diagnose ongoing pain, only to have SimonMed cancel it without any notification--no phone call, text, email, or portal message. I only discovered the cancellation because I logged into the patient portal the night before to review my prep instructions and noticed my appointments had disappeared. When I called the next morning, they confirmed the cancellation but initially couldn't explain why. After pressing for an answer, I was told it was due to an equipment issue. The most frustrating part wasn't the equipment problem--it was the complete lack of communication and the failure to proactively reschedule me. These tests were supposed to help determine whether I could avoid a more invasive and costly procedure scheduled for the following week. Unfortunately, they had no local availability before then, and the earliest appointment was in Glendale just two business days beforehand. To add insult to injury, I finally received a text telling me to reschedule five minutes before my original appointment time. I contacted Yavapai Regional instead, and they got me in on the same day as the Glendale appointment. Everyone there was friendly, compassionate, and helpful. Simon med in Prescott. Had an MRI with and without contrast. The Techs that did the MRI were GREAT. The scheduling department is horrible. Had my Appointments changed several times, and every time it was blamed on the Insurance company and no approval. I received the approval from the Insurance company good from July through September. After the first MRI, I needed an additional appointment. They made the appointment, and then called two days later to change the appointment because of no approval yet. And now after 9 days no results from the first MRI. I would not use them again. read more

After booking my appointment with Simon Med I received no less than seven text messages and phone calls regarding my insurance. Each time I told the representative who my insurance was with and relayed any requested information. Today less than an hour before my appointment I am told I need to reschedule because they don't have authorization. Without a doubt the most incompetent company I have ever dealt with in my opinion. TD;LR- Complete cluster, wasted tons of time & time off work and no further along now than when I started. I had a referral for a CT scan, appointment was made, when I showed up I was informed it had been rescheduled (without telling me) and that my insurance may not cover it. I informed them I would pay out of pocket if needed, and rescheduled for the following week, (which was noted in the account by the person working the check in area). I received a call at 4:00pm the day before the 2nd scheduled appointment to confirm the time and date. I reiterated that I was ok with it being out of pocket (this person was unaware). I showed up the next morning and was told I had been rescheduled again- after they confirmed it, and without telling me! Apparently this happened10 minutes after the confirmation phone call, which was initiated by SimonMed. The front desk was apologetic but completely unhelpful, I asked for a phone number, she said I could go find the the office manager in person the following week, and that she had no contact information other than that. I then found a corporate number spoke to a representative for 25 minutes and was disconnected while he tried to reschedule. This outfit is completely unprofessional and inept. I have lost any faith in the scan or medical staff, if they can't even schedule correctly. This whole process has delayed my care and any concurrent appointments with my doctors, along with costing me time off of work. I would avoid them, the frustration, and find another company. If you need Customer service from somebody who has any knowledge you are out of luck. It is impossible to talk to someone at the Simonmed that you are scheduled at. If you have a specific questions, the only way to get help is to drive to Simonmed you are scheduled at. Needed to schedule a specialized CT scan. Made the appointment over the phone and was told I would get a callback for procedure prep. No-one called and had to reschedule and pick up the prep kit three days prior to the procedure. Picked up kit and looked online for instructions, none. Called no one knew. Finally on the third call I was put in touch with Prescott and told that I had to drive the 20 miles back to Prescott to pick up the instructions. They wouldn't email or just tell me what to do. One the day of the appointment they tell me that my insurance isn't covering it and wanted me to sign that I understand that I'm responsible for payment. This is after fasting for a day and drinking the awful prep. I told them to jump in a lake. Just two months ago they tell me after I was undressed that they couldn't do my MRI because of my pacemaker. I'll never use them again! read more

I had my MRI appointment rescheduled about 4 or 5 times. I got into a rollover accident and needed an MRI to get into physical therapy, but every time I have an appointment I have to reschedule for no reason. When I went into the office for my initial X-Rays, they forgot about me in the lobby and had me waiting over an hour. I know this because when I talked to the receptionist she had thought I had already been back there and said the doctor must have slipped my appointment. The care quality is not there. I have never dealt with such negligence in my entire life, especially with a doctors office and especially with the situation that I was put in. read more

The people in the office are very nice, but getting results in a timely manner is not the case. It has been a week and still no results.

To be fair, all my doctors request that I use SM imaging rather than other companies. They prefer the images produced by SM. Also, to be fair, once past the schedulers and gatekeepers, etc., the back-room (pro) staff are good. Sometimes very good. But their front-facing (customer service-related) staff and, more to the point, systems are often inefficient and close to their edge. And, to my main gripe, their phone system and procedures are painful to use at best and broken at worst. I'll summarize many experiences trying to engage with them by phone, with my most recent infuriating example. Yesterday, I learned that my out-of-pocket expense for an MRI increased by about 10% within a week. Curious, I tried to find out why. I called the system, and 1.5 hours later, learned that they simply can't answer the question of what I'll need to pay. My latest phone engagement with them lasted 1.5h. During that time, I was transferred among eight different people in three departments. The repetition was because, for a while, I got stuck in a phone-tree cyclone. For each of the 8 transfers, they asked me to verify my name (spelled out), date of birth, full address, phone number, and email address 8 times. My experience can be summarized with "ugh" (if polite) or "AAAHHHHHH" (if more accurate). When I lose my cool, I stop saying as many "please's" and "thank you's". I don't shift to rude but my tone takes on a hint of anxiety. That's me losing my cool. When they lost their cool with my loss of cool, one hung up on me, one attempted to re-explain the same (wrong) thing five times (she didn't understand how I was slipping through their cracks), and another refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor after I realized that I needed more professional-level help. Oh! and they gave me three different price quotes for the following procedure, all of which differed notably from one another and from what my insurance permits. So, from that experience, all I learned was that SM needs a serious reexamination of their customer service staffing and additional training, almost across the board. Each time I work with them, I vow never to work with them again. But my doctors prefer their images, and I keep telling myself that next time can't be as bad as the ones before. But, alas, it only gets worse. One of these days, I'll beg my Phoenix and PV doctors to use Prescott Medical Imaging (which is seamless) and hope they bite. And so, before you now, I vow, again, that THIS time will be my last. Next time, I'll go elsewhere... ANYwhere else. I'll go to Kinkos for my next MRI if they'll have me. If SM provided a therapist in every scan, we'd all be better off. read more

I have been going here for years for annual MRIs and some visits have been super frustrating due to staff shortages or just patient appointments running incredibly behind. But visits such as today, went super smooth. I showed up 15 minutes early, and already had all my paperwork filled out via their app. I was acknowledged right when I walked in the door. No one was in front of me, so they checked me in immediately. The lady was friendly and happy. I was brought back right at my appointment time. The MRI tech explained everything to expect. I had to do the "with contrast" on the second half, so in the middle of the imaging, she had to poke me with the needle to inject the contrast. That wasn't painful at all, she did a really good job. My first experience with SimonMed - I received a call from their scheduling department - it was automated and asked me to hold. when a person came on they asked why I was calling. I told her it was you who called me. After figuring out who I was she said she needed to schedule my MRI, then suddenly I am in an automated survey asking me to review them. I faked remarks then it said thank you and disconnected. I called the number back and got someone who said they needed my insurance info, which should have been included in the MRI order, then in the middle of my reading it he said he got an "alert" saying only one person could schedule me and he did not know why so he would transfer me to her. During that transfer the system asked me to enter the "extension" I needed, but he never gave me an extension number, then it disconnected. me. I called back again, it rang once then disconnected. I waited a few minutes, I called back again, the lady said she saw the "alert" under my info and gave me the lady's extension, but she would text her before transferring me. then she said the lady was on another call and would return my call. So when they call you to schedule you, it's like a telemarketer system that puts you on hold, and good luck getting the person who called you who's apparently the only one who can schedule you. Now I am afraid to even use this company for an MRI if they are that messed up. read more

I recently visited Simon Med and had a mostly pleasant experience. Jenna, the assistant who prepared me for my appointment, was very professional and compassionate. However, the technician, Shay, was rude when I couldn't answer a question. When I asked to consult my oncologist, Shay said "there's no time" and left the room. I found this unprofessional, especially since I asked about potential consequences of IV placement. The assistant, Jenna, helped resolve the issue by getting instructions from my husband. Given my experience working in healthcare, I was disappointed in Shay's attitude. Overall, my experience was marred by this interaction, but Jenna's kindness was a highlight. read more

I paid out of pocket for an MRI because an emergency CT scan showed a mass in my abdomen and I was panicked. This MRI was taken in June 2020, yes I realize a long time ago but had this actually been a decent MRI I might have had the right diagnosis sooner...as in before my cancer spread to my liver. Or if it was there I could've started treatment earlier. But who would know from these garbage blurry images. I didn't know about dicom viewers back then I and trusted that they would have good clear images. Because of this I now ALWAYS get copies of images and only get imaging at a hospital. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I had an CT scheduled for the 29th of July which was made 10+ days out and confirmed the day of the appt. It was confirmed by them . I show up for the appointment early and they told me it was cancelled and moved to Aug 4th. I showed them the confirmation and it was "sorry you can reschedule " Totally Unacceptable, Unprofessional and a waste of my time - and they will hit you up when your in from of them for "additional costs" avoid this place like the plague!!! First time MRI I hated every minute of it, the tech was patient and explained everything and even checked in with me during the x-ray. Being someone with extreme claustrophobia and anxiety in new situations I felt better about it. Still hated it but that's my own personal issue nothing to do with the facility itself, the receptionist was nice as well as the tech just very monotone voices it was 7am and at 7am I'm not very perky myself. We had an an appointment for 2:45 and were planning on arriving by 2:30 with the ppwk already filled out. We received a text saying that the appointment was UPDATED to 3:15 and to arrive by 3:00. We're were at the office by 3:00 and we're told our appointment was at 2:45 and that the appointment would have to be rescheduled, wait, What? The day of, we were told the appointment was updated to 3:15. The manager said it was a mistake and that we should have been there at 2:30. We showed her the text with the updated time. Get oeople who spend more time with patients than on their ohones or standing around visiting with other staff. A 1hr wait took 3.5 hours for an ordered STAT x-ray. Several other walk-in x-ray patients were moved ahead of me, and one lady kept shuffling the deck pf patient folders. read more

I am writing this more as a public service announcement so other people with serious concerns can consider going elsewhere. If your a person anxious to get results and count on this place to honor the appointment they set think again. Just fair warning. I have had 2 issues with the place in 1 year. Last year I had a brain scan scheduled at the Prescott office. They called and cancelled about 2 hours before I was to go in because the machine "overheated". Absolute truth. I figured I would try them again for a CT because they could get me in 10 days earlier than PMI. It was scheduled 2 weeks before. I cancelled my appointment with PMI. The day before the procedure I get a text that I need to reschedule the procedure because my insurance company had not approved it yet. Well, I can't leave a review about their services; since I was completely unable to book an appointment! On February 13, 2025, I attempted to schedule a medical imaging appointment with SimonMed. I was placed on hold for 15 minutes, during which I was subjected to a relentless stream of aggressive advertising for various medical services and equipment that I neither wanted nor needed. Despite my repeated refusals, the system continued to push these services, and I was never connected to an actual representative who could assist with booking my appointment. Furthermore, I attempted to schedule an appointment online, but their system only allowed me to book at their Gilbert, AZ location--over 100 miles away from my home in Prescott, AZ. There was no way to select a more appropriate location, which prompted my call for an appointment. Based on this experience, it appears that SimonMed Imaging is not operating as a legitimate medical imaging provider but rather as a front for aggressive medical advertising. Given the extreme difficulty (if not impossibility) of actually scheduling an appointment, I strongly suspect that SimonMed's primary source of revenue is advertising income rather than medical services. I am bringing this to the BBB's attention because their misleading practices waste patients' time and create unnecessary barriers to care. Their tactics are predatory, and unprofessional. read more

Worst medical experience ever. My doctor did a referral for an MRI for my daughter in November of 2025. It's now mid February of 2026 and I still can't get an MRI done. They submitted the wrong insurance information to my insurance and my initial appointment was cancelled. No explanation, no one fixed it. For weeks I got robocalls from absolute morons who work their call line and they had no idea why I was even being called and no one ever fixed the wrong info that had been submitted. Dr office called them and figured out the problem and Simon med promised to fix it and expedite the appointment and insurance authorization- I was told I would hear within 3-4 business days. 2.5 weeks later - nothing. I called yesterday and got another clueless person on their call line and was told I could have an appointment for today. Scheduled it, received a call at 6am this morning from someone who seemed to know what they were talking about and she said they were double booked at my appointment time and there was no insurance authorization. I have BCBS insurance for 20 years. She said it would be cheaper to pay out of pocket at their $350 MRI rate. I agreed and was given another appointment for yet again, tomorrow - great! Nope- just got a robocall saying my appointment was canceled due to lack of insurance authorization. What an absolute joke and waste of time. Never using them again. Called the Dr office and asked for a referral to Prescott medical imaging. Horrible experience with Simon med- disgusting customer support. read more

The technician for my ultrasound was friendly but seemed like she was rushed. I know that the place was busy, but had I known that the results still would not be read 4 days later, I would have gladly gone somewhere else. I called today to ask about the results, and the girl who answered the phone told me that it would be 3-5 business days. So now to wait all weekend on top of it. A very unpleasant experience. What was missing was the basic regard for me as a person. 1. Though the checkin staff did their job, they were very robotic. It was only when I complained about the two hour wait time that one of the representatives took some action to help me. 2. The technicians would call a name, but they were not always visible, so the patients had to try and guess where the voice was coming from. 3. I understand the technicians were busy, but they would rush about without any regard to the fact that myself and many of the other patients had mobility issues and simply couldn't move as quickly. One cut right in front of me, and it was difficult for me to regain my balance. 4. I waited and waited for a chest x-ray. When I asked the technician what was the delay he went on and on about having some days off, and also having to do scheduled DEXA scans. I understand these challenges, but I found it unprofessional. My time was of no consideration. 5. And again, going back to the desk staff, if they had communicated, I could've made other arrangements for my chest x-ray at a different time. In summary, I am hoping the imaging center does a good job on the radiology side because the very substandard job on patient respect and scheduling doesn't reflect well. read more

This location is the worst I have ever experienced. Last year my mammogram got twice rescheduled without telling me! Meaning I appeared to my appointments and the ladies in front told me that unfortunately no tech was in the office and that we have to reschedule. They had my phone number they could have called me! So that happened TWICE. Now today, I went in to get a chest xray. I stopped by the day before to make sure that they can take me in the next day (today) after 3PM. The lady in front her name is Christine, told me that would be perfectly fine any time after 3pm. So I showed up 3:10PM to find a letter posted outside at the door saying no X-rays after 3pm for August 29th and no X-rays at all the following day Friday (I guess the Tech wanted to have a looong Labor Day weekend!). I went in and explained, now a different lady, that I had been in the day before and specifically asked if they could take me in for the next day after 3PM. This lady was not helpful, not apologetic at all, on the contrary she had a very unfriendly attitude. I left furios! I called Simon Med scheduling Departement and complained also cancelled my upcoming mammogram for the following week (heck knows if that would have even happened), told the lady (who BTW was very nice and understanding of my frustration) she can erase my files I would find a different company that works professional. So when I read through all the reviews that is obviously how that location operates. They are not interested in working professional, on the contrary they just do the minimum and as soon as they have the opportunity they just leave and leave the patient hanging. Oh, and I am not interested at all in any comments from the manager of this facility as a response to my review, he or she was also not picking up the phone when the lady from the SimonMed scheduling department wanted to talk to him.....of course not, it was already 4:30PM and that location closes at 5PM(!) in other words Mr or Mrs Managerin had it called a day already! ‍ read more

Although Simon Med corrected the problem, I cannot trust this company. I paid upfront by check and then went to the procedure room. I declined the procedure because the tech told me my head would be in the machine . I have claustrophobia. This happened in less than 10 minutes. When I asked for my check back, I was told it was in a safe and could not be returned. Simon Med sent an email to billing telling them to refund my money. Everytime I called Simon Med billing, I was told it would be refunded in 2 weeks only to find out the check was cashed the next day. The billing belongs to a 3rd party and they never responded to the Simon Med Prescott email . The Prescott supervisor made the decision to refund me in cash which made the situation right. Please note I went to their competitor who took the time to explain my head would never be under the machine and this was true. Their competitor never asked for money upfront. The competitor submitted the claim to Medicare. The tech at Simon Med was pregnant , clearly hated the job and gave misinformation. I called to make an appointment and spent 45 minutes on the phone and still do not have an appointment. The first 20 minutes was frustrating because the women who answered to schedule this had such a strong accent, I had to spell out all of my answers and I had to ask her to repeat what she said several times. At one point she told me to hold while she checked the schedule. She came back after a few minutes and said their computer was down and to please hold. I waited for 25 minutes in silence without any updates and then finally hung up. I need the test result I called in for before I see my doctor to discuss my overall testing. After waiting weeks for an appt, was turned away for MRI because I wear a hearing implant. This was AFTER I SPECIFICALLY INQUIRED (3 times) IN PERSON , IN ADVANCE ABOUT THIS VERY POINT. No notes in my file, never got any return call despite multiple assurances that a knowledgeable MRI employee would evaluate and get back to me. The staff at Prescott SimonMed is so professional and caring. Just had a couple of tests/ scans and the experience was great. First, Jenna and the other admin were both very friendly and took care of the business of checking you in, insurance, paperwork, etc. Always friendly, absolutely know their jobs, and are empathic. As a former VP in retail, i know service and these three do an amazing job. Edgar was my technician. Could not ask for better. My procedure require a lot of prerequisites. He walked me through the whole process. I am hearing impaired, and he was great. From telling me about what i was about to experience, to continuing to tell me what he was doing, to making sure my scan was perfect, Edgar was great! He loves what he does and it shows. He understands that what he does has such an impact on our lives. He takes that responsibility to heart. Thank YOU. We all come in there not because we want to. I was on time to my appointment, I filled out all of the paperwork online so my check In would go smoothly. I asked questions regarding my testing and was told that I would need to speak with my doctor. While my husband was in the waiting room (while my testing was being conducted) he overheard other patients asking about payment plans, the receptionist was very unmoved by the patient's request. Not expecting Florence Nightingale, but a little empathy would go a long way in the business of helping people who are probably not feeling great. Customer service seminars would be beneficial for all employees at this location. The only warmth in that office would be derived from the quilts on the walls. read more

Edgar performed my CT Scan with Contrast and was beyond professional and proficient. He took the time to make sure my IV was properly administered. Didn't like the first poke after correctly inserting the needle and testing the line. Tried on the other arm and after testing the line on that one, we were both pleased with his decision to change arms. Procedure went smooth as silk. He was very polite and made sure I had everything I needed and that all my questions were answered. We need more like Edgar! read more

I had an MRI appointment for 9:10 a.m. on a Monday. I waited on line to check in about 5 minutes. I thought the young ladies at the front desk were friendly, professional and accommodating. The waiting room was clean and chairs were comfortable. I was settling in to start reading my book but not 5 mins passed when I was called. My technician, Carl, was very kind, professional and thorough. I was in and out within less than 10 mins. Prior to my visit, I filled out my paper work online, wore the correct clothing per their online instructions, and that made it that much easier. I would recommend for sure. read more

Simon med will not order previous images for comparison. They want you to come back for diagnostic imaging when a simple comparison might mean this isn't necessary. When you try to talk with someone about the issue the only person available is a scheduler. I tried multiple times. I acquired my previous scans myself and am going to walk them in. First, we (husband and wife) haven't used SimonMed for a long period of time (over 6 years) however, accidentally, we've both had radiology exams called in by physicians who did not know we don't go there. AND trying to get these 'accidental' appointments cancelled has proven to be difficult. And even AFTER getting one CNX'd, we still got 'text messages' reminding us. Many per week. So you have a medical establishment that 'dispenses' ionizing radiation in various forms (which can be, we the errant wrong adjustment, dangerous) not being able to process the cancellations. And perhaps "only" the office staff is so afflicted but one must consider. What if the people setting up the MRI, CT, X-Ray and so forth are as "incompetent"? Upon calling again to cancel, the staff seemed confused, could not retain a given phone number or street address. It is sad to think of people going thru life so encumbered but I guess... We haven't and won't use SimonMed Imaging (the Prescott office is the one we were sent to and to whom I spoke). read more
