As I was ordering in the drive-thru, the employee kept saying "ma'am" even though I am a male; so I kept correcting by saying "sir". Simple order of chicken strips and a drink. 20 minutes from beginning to end. I was the only customer in line after the guy behind me got fed up and left after placing his order. I have ate here a couple of times when passing through town and have not been experienced the issues others have noted.

Food poisoning alert. Buyer beware. The food is not fresh. Soggy and cold tots. Soggy and cold popcorn chicken. Cold burger. This has happened to us numerous times. Service was rushed, food took forever, showed up cold....and we were the only car in the lot. Good luck. read more

After waiting 10 min to order and waiting 30 more minutes in line (plus watching a person leave line in front of me), i was greeted by the bumbling joke of a platoon of workers staring in the distance for 5 more mins before opening the window. Popcorn chicken- more like chips mazerella sticks- straight out the trash grilled cheese - burnt* cheese cheeseburger- soggy bread with undercooked meat. ocean water- literally ocean water, probably from the gulf sauce- none, asked for, promised, not received. We ordered two drinks, one of which being ocean water with nerds. When we received our drinks we got a cherry slush with nerds, instead of the ocean water. Instead of sending the slush back, I decided to just keep the drink. However, when I started to drink the slush, I bit onto something hard thinking it was a nerd. Turned out to be a metal bb. We gave the manager a call and he offered to give us the drink we originally asked for for free. The service here is pretty horrible, but the food is what you would expect for a Sonic. They left 4 things out of our order for 6 people. When we tried to get those 4 things for which we had paid, we waited 20 minutes to finally get a response on the call button to let them know and then another 25 minutes to get the items (2 corn dogs and 2 drinks). No one seemed very sorry about the error, as no one apologized even once. They were entirely out of popcorn chicken, kids apple juices and all milk as well and they didn't give us any napkins, but maybe they had supply chain issues on all of those items. All in all, if you're stopping on the road to eat, just know that this place will take 5 times as long as a normal Sonic and check your order very carefully before you leave. read more

Just have to counter that sad, 1-star review out there. This Sonic is super accessible, easy on and off I-25 by just a block. They have several outdoor tables (more than most Sonics) for enjoying a quick lunch in the sun with the family and dog, mid-road trip. I went to this sonic while on a group road trip. I sat there and waited for the better part of twenty minutes waiting on my food while everyone else finished their food. When I asked, I was told it was taking a while because "the chicken took a while" (one of the other girls in my group had ordered the same thing and got it within five minutes). After everyone was done and we were ready to go, I still didn't have my food and the guy told me "they lost my order" and that they would get it out for me. So we waited another five minutes to get the chicken, and I still had to pay full price for it, and only gave me a free drink. The thing that topped it off was the fact that they didn't even give me the boneless chicken wing flavors I asked for! The worst sonic I have ever been to. It's a pretty sad day when the manager of an establishment lets his employees smoke marijuana just outside the back door. I was in a line that wasn't moving very fast. When I got to the window I asked to speak to the manager and couldn't believe the man that came to speak to me was one of the employees smoking out back. I've been eating sonic for years and I have never been so disappointed with my food. Our order consisted of 3 burgers and a chicken sandwich, all of which came out like they hadn't even been under a heating lamp. We waited for upwards of 10 minutes for food that seemed like it was just sitting out on the counter for the last few hours. The cheese on the burgers wasn't melted and the fries and tots were just as cold. I am one of the least picky people when it comes to food and my experience at the sonic in Trinidad was about the worst I've ever had. I'd have given it half a star if it was an option. I agree with previous, 1 star is too much. Took about 35 minutes to get a meal. They didn't have banana for my shake so I got a Reese's one instead. Horrible. Absolutely horrible. I can name a few instances where they completely f-d up. Ordered a cookie dough SHAKE for half price shakes and they charged me for a blast and made me a blast that wasn't even blended. Another time I ordered a medium chili cheese tot and there was just one layer of tater tots with chili and cheese, it wasn't filled up at all to where it was supposed to be, it had the amount of a small tater tot in it, and I've worked at a sonic before, I know how they're supposed to do things. Also ordered a breakfast burrito and they put WHITE cheese on it when it's supposed to have yellow shredded cheddar cheese. I've gotten quite a few undercooked corn dogs. Several times I've gone thru the drive thru and it took them 15 MINUTES TO ANSWER ME. They also scan their orders too early. A few minutes after ordering the screen will say that my order is coming out, and I don't get it until 10 minutes later, with items missing. Three strikes and your out and given 1 star. We're low carb folks, so we ordered two cheeseburgers without buns, but with mustard, catsup and mayo. The order came, but both cheeseburgers had buns. We push the red button--long wait, then we explain the presence of buns, and the server comes and gets them. In a few minutes the cheeseburgers return "bunless", but there's no mustard, catsup or mayo. We push the red button again, the server asks if packets of condiments are ok. We wait, the condiments arrive. So now we're ready to eat. What a disappointment. When the cheeseburgers with the non-requested buns were sent back, someone in the kitchen just peeled off the buns leaving a thick coating of the bun that was stuck to the meat--disgusting. Come on Sonic, get with program. Get some leaf lettuce for those low carb people who like their cheeseburgers "naked". And try to get the order right the first time. read more
