I've never ever given a one star review but after the attitude we got at the drive thru window today after the slow service and such the times before I'm super over it and done with this place. :/ Sonic's Tracy location has seriously deteriorated over time. Back in the day before Hayward got a Sonic we would travel here for the Sonic fix. Years later we move out here and it was good like always but in the past year the service here has been mediocre at best. Now I do understand when I place is understaffed. That's unavoidable things will work slow but it's ALWAYS only one poor person or two people catering to the long line that's around the corner. But today... We we're rushed through our order and our order was completely wrong. Instead of fixing it the lady decided to argue back saying she didn't charged us for those items and we had to pay when she hadn't even given us a receipt to prove of our purchase. So here we payed 19.00 for slushes that were supposed to be happy hour value in the WRONG flavors that the lady just dumped whatever in was in the machine into that one instead of just correction the order. Then our popcorn chickens were small no flavored not spicy and barbeque at a medium size like they were supposed to be. AND we were jipped a hot dog. :/ no order repeated back to us as to what was is each bag. (Please people who work in fast food do this and repeat our orders to us so we know you're on the same page) but then to give attitude and argue with us without giving us a receipt?! After THAT many errors made with no apology or action made....? Someone restart this place up with new staff. We don't mind how slow they are and all-just don't give us a shitty attitude because you're overwhelmed. You could have merely fixed the order and noted you had made errors. Do not come to this Sonics unless you want to wait at least 10 min for the drive-thru worker to even acknowledge that you are there and waiting to place you're order! Once again I have visited this location I chose not to come here after the last time I visited and it was slow as hell, well it was closer and more convenient to go to this one on this trip out here, well here it is 1:04 still waiting on my order that I order at 12:47 almost 20 mins for some popcorn chicken and and fries this is ridiculous. Yes I understand the chicken takes almost 7 mins but come on really there is literally no one in the parking lot or drive thru. And I put any amount of money when I get my food it will not be fresh or hot. Corporate needs to step in and fix this location or find some employees that care about their guest!! Bacon Cheddar Toaster, tater tots, and a Blast of any kind will make my day...any day!

Their slushes tend to get too sweet for me at times. The food is okay...can't go wrong with burgers and fries. Although, I wish they'd cook their fries longer so that they're not so chalky tasting. The tots are the bomb if cooked right. Good variety of food including breakfast stuff if you're into that. read more

Sonic's is AWESOME!!!!! Got addicted to this place a couple yrs back on my way to Bear Valley. Pretty much everything on the menu is damn good for a fast food joint. The specialties tho are the drinks. Wether its a strawberry limeade or shake its all good to the last drop. Onion rings are heavenly, tater tots bring you back to your childhood, the popcorn chicken is better than KFC, burgers are yum. Watch out tho. There is a major blind spot as leave when you get a drive thu order. I almost ran over one of the car hops on her roller skates. read more

This particular Sonic USED TO BE very good. Fast AND accurate service results in hot food that tastes great. Sadly, that is no longer the case. On a more recent stop here, one of my kids had to use the "facilities". Never having visited said facilities myself, I was not aware we had to ask for a key. We waited and waited. Forced to go inside and ask again, I finally got a kid to come out and open up. No cover on the water tank, a mound of soaked tissue on top, and a urine filled toilet greeted us. The rest of the room wasn't fairing much better. The sink was so dirty we did not wash up. The walls looked like they were splashed with Lord knows what and left to dry. Even the back of the door, which was brushed aluminum, did not escape the horror show. All this BEFORE we ate. Yes, people are disgusting pigs, but a store is responsible for cleanliness. Especially an eatery. Lucky me I've brought my kids up not to be squeamish. VERY lucky me I keep hand sanitizer in my Jeep. On to the waiting. Like most of these reviews we waited. And waited...We finally got our food and it was not anything resembling what they used to serve here. It just sucked. Insult to injury, we were forced to sit there and contemplate because the drive-thru line was so long it jammed up the parking lot. This particular location is on its way to being the worst Sonic in the State. I really hope that management and/or the Corporate office takes notice and rectifies the serious problems this location has. Until then, I'll steer clear thanks. read more

i love giving the carhops large bills and having them count out the change with their snazzy coin belt machine. :D the food is hella good for fast food status. i love their jalapeno burger, their fries, and their shakes. i think my absolute favorite thing there is the orange cream shake. it tastes like an orange creamsicle. it was totally worth the 45min drive while playing 20 questions in the car with my 8yr old brother who keeps repeating questions. read more

This place is not for me . I don't like anything about it. The Food is nasty and over priced. I asked them if i could get a refill on my soda . They said No buy another one. I just needed something to wash down this nasty food and avoid throwing up in my mouth . After spending $33 you can give someone a refill. Ok Sonic , Never coming back here again. Of all the 'fast food' in tracy i would call this my favorite I love the lime aids. With cherry is the bomb. This time i got the boneless wings with honey bbq. Yummmy!!!! The overall atmosphere is decent. Lots of high schoolers but they maintain a respectful distance and volume. I wish this place was more accessible to highway but whatevs I find this review interesting because I've never eaten at Sonic Drive in! Also interesting! MY FAVORITE Fast food place, by far. I just wish we had one in San Jose. I grew up on Sonic, we have tons of them back in Louisiana. Anyways, they have a great selection of drinks, food, and yummy ice cream desserts. I love the whole 50's style, drive up and park and when u are ready to order hit the little red button. And sometimes you are lucky enough to have a sever wearing roller skates, but not always. I usually always order the same thing everytime I go there even though everything is yummy. I love the breaded chicken sandwich with tator tots and an ocean water. And the best thing about their drinks is the ICE.... YES,,, I said ICE... its small crushed cubes. So if you are ever in the Tracy area.. stop by and order an Ocean Water or a Cherry Limeaide. I used to go here every day after high school just for the drinks. :) read more

I've never been a fan of the food here. My family wanted ice cream and I was too tired to get out of the car so we stopped. For 5 people (2 adults and 3 kids) the ticket was only $13 so the price was fine. The service however sucked ! To start with we had 5 Ice cream type drinks and the carhop brought 2 spoons and 2 straws...No napkins ! I asked for more spoons and straws and some napkins and surprisingly he returned (more than 5 minutes later) with enough spoons and straws but 0 napkins ! He was gone before I could ask for them. As he came back by I asked for some napkins and he seemed to be bothered by this request. Eventually he did return with exactly 5 napkins,(Remember I had 3 small children in my car all eating ice cream) and an attitude to go with them ! read more

Nothing special in the menu that won't clog up the arteries. Impressive huge, long hot dogs and apparently very good but onion rings were super greasy I ended up throwing them away. The 99c sundae is child size, so don't be fooled by the ads. We only use the drive-through. At one time ordered a smoothie..they told us at the window later the machine is not yet working...that was lunch time, so I opt for a milkshake. Then as we were paying the attendant stopped us to confirm the smoothie machine is now ready and she was filling up the order, paid her, waited, got it and left...later on I checked the receipt, noticed the smoothie was cancelled but did not get charged for the shake. read more

This has become a pit stop for us on the way to Jackson many times. Mostly for breakfast or a quick lunch on the run. For a fest food place it is is not bad. This place has recently been providing extremely poor service. Last time I went there the person working the drive they was not bright enough to even take my order. I could not even get through one meal without her missing something. Tonight I was not there and it took 10 minutes to get to the ordering speaker. The food is at best 2 stars but the drinks are at least 4 stars. Food is your run-of-the-mill greasy, fast food which is expected. The cheescake bites were -a huge disappointment (mushy in the middle, too crunchy on the outside, mostly tasteless), and even the accompanying cinnamon caramel dipping sauce wasn't enough to convince me to take more than one bite. Popcorn chicken was alright but not memorable. I find the cheese on the cheese fries a bit strange and too artificial tasting. On the other hand, the strawberry limeade was incredible- sweet, tangy, and fizzy. Next time I'll forgo the food and just order 3 different drinks. Oh yeah, eating in your car isn't as great as it sounds. You spend most of your time trying to balance your food and get more of it in your mouth than on your floor or between the seats. read more

Let me start off by saying in the four years I spent at Ft. Sill Oklahoma, I must have eaten at the Sonic right outside the main gate about 1000 times. This was back in the 90's and when I came home I found out there were NO Sonics' in California. Bummer! Then one opened in Tracy so my friends and I packed in a car and went to Sonic which was about an hour away from my house. I like the foot long Coney dog with tater tots. The fact that they serve tater tots with every thing make them cool. HOWEVER, I ate there a few days ago and ordered my usual but when it came it was a little less than warm. The chili was hot enough to melt the cheese but the actual hot dog was almost cold? I was starving so I ate it anyway but I have to ding them on the presentation. "Presentation?" It's fast food! Well this time around the hot dog was cold and the tater tots were nice and hot but they looked like they were just dumped in the bag because there were only about three in the container and the rest were all over the inside of the bag. That meant my bag and "2" toilet paper square sized napkins were soaked in grease. Come on, you have to give a little more than a crap about your job. If you don't then you need to go work at a gas station. I won't completely ding this Sonic because of the dopey high school kids working there....wait, yes I can. Oh well, I still love Sonic and will continue to eat there but in the future, if I am not in such a hurry to get somewhere I WILL complain about the hot and cold food being thrown in the bag. Why is there no Sonic closer to the Silicon Valley? I was at the Tracy Sonic when they opened and I had a chance to talk to one of the Sonic Reps. He said they started with a store in Tracy because of the whole Central Valley car culture. I guess no one owns a hot rod in Silicon Valley? He said they were going to open one in Sunnyvale but that was a few years ago and I still haven't seen anything....Weak! read more

Everytime i pass through to LA or Stockton I HAVE to go to Sonics!! It's a must that i get my tater tot infused grape creamslush on!!! The burgers are ok, better than mcdonalds, not as great as bk, but the drinks and tots make up for everything. I've been here a few times, and I liked it every single time. That's gotta be saying something if we muster up the willpower to drive 45 minutes from San Jose to get food! The toasters are freaking awesome, I had the chicken and bacon cheeseburger one. The tots are ok, their strawberry limeade is tasty and their slushes are good too. The service is pretty good, it has a retro feel with the servers coming up to you in rollerskates and they're really nice, though there's this funky black dude there who looks like he was homeless recently. Sorry man but clean up your appearance! The Butterfinger blast is so damn good it makes my eyes roll back into my head.
