I would absolutely give zero stars if doable. I was here yesterday getting lunch. After placing my order and sitting in my car for thirty minutes and seeing people come and go I got curious where my order was. I pressed the intercom and asked if I was forgotten to be told "we're working on it" rudely. Waited again.. thirty minutes pass again. At this point everyone has left so I call again and ask for a refund and the manager. He comes out and chuckles and says "oh I took your order, it's been sitting there" he accommodated and gave me a full refund and made my order again. read more

That's what the GM said to me. You wonder why customer service is at an all-time low. Her abrasive tone prompted me to ask for her name, she identified herself as the General Manager, Joanne. I take serious issue with management being combative and dismissive tone used toward a customer. The decision to challenge my honesty rather than seek clarification is absurd. Visited the Sonic on Main Street in Suffolk. This will be my very last time I visit this location. The service was horrible. I waited in the drive thru for ten minutes before I actually received service from someone inside. The cash register was down and no one informed us. I gave cash of 23 dollars for my order that was 22,20 and was told I owed more money. I never received my change I ended up driving away or I might still be there now. And there was a foul smell while waiting in the drive thru. My family drives 22 miles to another Sonic we will ever return to this location. . read more

Horrible experience multiple occasions. This place is beyond slow. If you ever pull into a stall and order they'll quickly tell you "no stall orders, please use the drive through". If you hear those words please listen to this warning. This place is so slow that by the time you make it to the window Jesus would have come back. I've gone to this location throughout the years and it always remains the same. Love the food and drinks, but the service is slow. You always have to wait quite a bit to get your order in the drive thru. I couldn't really understand the first girl on the intercom, but when I pulled up to the window they said she was in training. The manager on duty was really nice and in general all of the employees are really friendly. My order was correct and as usual I loved my cherry limeade but I was a little sad that they didn't put a cherry in it. They only put a little bit of chili and cheese on my coney dog which was a bit disappointing. I love that Sonic always offers so many drink and menu items. The combinations are endless. I will return to this location in the future because they offer different things than other chains (mozzarella sticks, yum!), but I'll be prepared to wait. read more

Always something at this place! Tonight no one was taking orders at the parked vehicles. The above was written but never saved after one of many bad experiences . So, we just took my 84 year old mom to Sonic for ice cream, her first experience and no doubt her last! It was a little after 8 pm and it was busier than typical day traffic. Guess what, after sitting there for 10 minutes, someone attempted to take our order, or so I thought. Nothing showed on the screen and it was reset. I pushed the button again and sat for another 5 minutes. Again, someone came on and mumble something and didn't take the order. I told her to forget it and left for the Chick-fil-A. This Sonic used to be great. I hadn't been to this location in a few years, so I visited about 8 months ago. Service was terrible and the order was incorrect. I had sworn never to go back, but my daughter saw the commercials for the Shark Week Slush so I told her we would go. We went last night, 8:15pm on a Saturday. Pulled up to a bay, pushed the button and waited. Thought maybe it didn't receive to pushed it again only to be rudely told that they were only taking drive thru orders. Okay, fine. Went through the drive thru. After waiting forever, when we got to the pickup window they didn't know what order mine was. I told them, eventually was handed a bag. Kept sitting there and she finally asked what drinks I had. Got my drinks and much to my daughter's disappointment there were no sharks in the slush. I asked for ranch, didn't receive. Lettuce on the burger was brown. While the employees were having all these issues at the drive thru (there were at least 5-6 of them huddled around) the manager was too busy eating and scrolling on her phone to be bothered with her job. First. Let me say the woman at the window was extremely polite. Then, it all went downhill. My order was incorrect and very sloppily made. I asked for cheese fries, of which I paid extra, and there was hardly any cheese on them. Maybe four fries had cheese? My grilled chicken wrap barely had any chicken and the ranch was lacking. The cook also had no hairnet or beardnet. Love the shakes, lots of variety; coconut cream pie, strawberry cheesecake, banana, peanut butter and my favorite salted caramel, (there's more too!) large is about 16 oz and $5. My complaints are related to management issues. Sometimes the waiters will take orders to cars in back of the line and they will pull out at same time person at window is complete which is an accident waiting to happen. One more thing is ask for a receipt! The drive thru is famous for writing the order down collecting the money and not putting in machine, then items are missing or wrong in your order. Has happened on 4/ 5 visits. read more

Typical Sonic - and I don't mean that in a bad way. The slush drinks, like a cranberry slush, are outstanding. The service is good. On a messed-up meal, they were quick and polite about correcting the problem. On a visit where I was in the drive-through line for another cranberry slush, I had someone come out and bring me the drink rather than make me wait for the person in front of me to have his larger order filled. And she gave some ideas about adding mango juice to the slush to make it better. Unfortunately, the food is just mediocre, Whether hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, or fries, nothing stands out. It is better than MacDonald's or Wendy's, but that is not a high bar to top. Stay with the drinks and the milkshakes (also good), and you will be fine. read more

Worst experience ever, avoid this place. Went to drive through & nobody responded so I had to park & take my order at the station. I ordered very simple things, Corn dog & a pretzel. This took them 10minutes until I walked to there door & could see they were playing in the back doing nothing. Corporate definitely needs to stop by this place. read more

I keep trying to give Sonic the benefit of the doubt. Their food is tasty enough. Who doesn't like their ice cubes? Time after time I'm disappointed with service that takes longer than if you drove to the Kroger across the street and made your food yourself. My last adventure there had me arriving at 8:07, being told the stalls were closed and to use the drive through only, and not leaving with my order (the wrong shake but ok tots, just not great like they can be) at 8:50. This Sonic on Main Steet in Suffolk has the most caring employees. I have had many health issues, in the last 2 years and i really enjoy their ice.Usually when we go they bring it to the car so we dont have to wait. Tonight we went and a very nice lady told me that they do not have the regular ice, due to a machine issue, now she could have not said anything and just sold the ice that they have but she took the time to tell me it wasnt the normal kind.
