They offer some creative and local items in addition to the usual "bar food" - burgers, sandwiches, wings, etc. Even on that stuff, the quality is first-rate. Try the Sea Dog or the Twisted Gator Fries or the wings. The fried mushrooms are not so great, but the fried green beans are very good. They scale back to a limited menu late at night so not everything is available all the time. The bartenders and staff are friendly. They do not have servers doing table service. Instead, you order at the bar and they bring your food out to you. It works just fine when they are quiet, but on a loud karaoke night you might wind up shouting your order across to the bartender. They are good with daiquiri questions and will give you a little taste of the frozen stuff to help you decide which flavor you want. Even on busy nights the food comes out quickly. It gets busy and the pumps and parking fill up at peak times but it turns over quickly so you never have to wait too long. Being so near to I-10 there are often some vagrants and panhandlers around but they have never been aggressive or scary. The staff are quick and efficient so the check-out line moves quickly. They have new Self-Checkout machines that seem to work well. The gas pumps are clean and in good working order. The pump touch screens, electronics, and pay-by-phone devices work most of the time without problems. The nicest thing about RaceTrac is the coffee! They have machines that grind on demand and so the coffee is always fresh. There are several different flavors/varieties and all are pretty good (even the decaf is decent). They used to offer seasonal flavors but the pandemic put an end to that. The store is clean and well kept. Sometimes the pump and parking areas get to be a mess when the trash cans get full. The bathrooms are better than average as convenience store restrooms go. If you go to RaceTrac regularly, download their app and sign up for the Rewards program. I have earned a ton of free swag (coffee, drinks) over the years.
