I love ordering in the drive-in lanes and I give a ton of credit to the workers who bring out all the food while roller skating! Finally visited Sonic and I waited too long to visit. Used the drive through and was greeted warmly. There was a line but was amazed that an employee was out there collecting fees and delivering food to the cars in line. Ordered a cheeseburger meal and tried their potato toes instead of fries. Food was excellent one CD of the best fast food cheeseburger I've eaten. I'll try the drive in option next time ( waiting for warmer weather ). Restaurant nicely lite up with an easy to read menu with plenty of food options to chose from. Parking lot clean ( no garbage) with plenty of stalls for drive in customers. The shakes are to die for and the mint is a nice gesture. It'll definitely be visiting again and if you're looking for a different burger meal or different items such as pretzels or potato toes Sonic won't disappoint. read more

Concept is very cool but food did not agree with me at all. I was excited to give Sonic a try because I've always been intrigued by the roller skate concept they have. I ended up ordering a Sonic burger as well as an Oreo Sonic blast. Initially, I was surprised at how expensive the burger was, as I assumed it was your typical cheeseburger. To my surprise, the burger had two patties and double cheese which I was NOT a fan of. I have a high dairy sensitivity and this baby broke the mold. I ended up removing half the cheese and the other patty. The burger itself was just average. It didn't have that much flavor and was actually cold when I started eating it (which was right in the parking lot mind you). Service on the other hand was extremely fast and I really enjoyed the ordering process. The screen ordering service and button system are very efficient and cool at the same time! However, sadly I write this with an upset stomach from their food and I don't think I will be headed back there anytime soon. OK I'll be honest this review was only for milkshakes and ice cream. We had dinner and had a hankering for some cool desserts. We hopped in the car and headed over to Sonic. I had never been there before. We ordered a few strawberry milkshakes, a vanilla milkshake and a hot fudge sundae. We all got minis because we didn't have a big appetites. It is the perfect size. This Restaurant is SO Cheap they have there staff working on tips, so inside there is no salaried employees. Every table was flighty tables floors Etc. The staff was friendly and attentive working for tips I'm not willing to tip a fast food employee for taking my order sorry. Sonic is very cheap and it's plain out awful not to have salaried staff to take orders inside and clean the restaurant. The burgers were no better then a Wendy's 0.99 burger fries were child size, Tatar tots were tasty but again portion was way too small for the charged price. Great fast food that's really fast. Love to see how the waiters and waitresses skate your order over to the car. Everyone parked I know thinks are they going to drop my order. But they are great skaters and I've never even seen them trip. This restaurant so reminds me of movies I've seen where they had these drive-up shake spots. Give them a try for a quick meal or snack. Never been to a Sonic since I really thought they were mainly found outside of New York, while visiting a friend came to find out they had one near her so we decided to stop by. U can either get food inside or through the pick up area helpful during these times because of COVID. We drove up to one of the drive though areas order & paid for the food which they then bring out to your car. Food I tried the Grilled chicken sandwich this was good, nice tasting chicken good bread & sauce comes with fries, they were good & a drink not bad. Also tried the Double cheese burger , burger was good as well & an order of the Boneless wings in the Asian sweet chili sauce, very good chicken good sauce with a bit of a spicy kick to it. Also had the Mozzarella sticks they were good, great while hot. Shakes tried the Reese's pieces shake good if u like Reeses I didn't get it not a big fan of Reese's , Oreo was a better choice. I was first introduced to Sonic in 2003 in Dallas,TX and I thought the idea of a drive-in was so much fun. It still is but my husband doesn't understand why anyone would want to eat in the car. Sonic in Smithtown, NY is a big RIP OFF. On every Sonic I have been thru in the USA they all have wack pack Wednesday which is the wacky price of $2.29. Apparently this Smithtown Sonic doesn't offer it. According to Jay the manager we don't have that promotion. Last month I was here and got it! He refused to honor the promo. He is not very consumer oriented. Maybe he should look for a different job. I will never be back to this Sonic ever again. ! read more

Its a fast food chain. We stopped here for a quick bite to eat after the beach. It was around 9 pm on a Saturday night and the place was busy. You can choose to go through the drive thru, sit at tables they have outside or order food and eat it in your car. Be careful driving in here as the staff roller skates the food to everyone. We pulled in and parked in the designated spot to eat in your car. We ordered the Chicago combo which is a hot dog with relish and pickles and french fries. It was different but very tasty and the fries were crispy with the right amount of seasoning. Our food was delivered to us by the server on roller skates and she was very friendly. It's a SONIC. If you're from the Island, then you're probably not used to what Sonic is, how it's done, and what to expect... Some of the comments below ding them for being what they are, not for getting anything wrong - so keep that in mind. I'm a fan of their hot dogs, slushes, and OCEAN WATER!!! Tots are always crispy, and a nice alternative to fries you can get at any fast food joint. There's also a lot of things you can get that aren't always shown on the main menu window, so just ask them, and they usually deliver. Today I had their cheeseburger, fries, onion rings and cherry limeade. First of all, the hamburger was nasty. The burger patty was so dry. The bun was okay though, but that's not what I get a hamburger for. Fries were meh. Onion rings were okay, but my family really enjoys them. The only real reason to go here over Five Guys is their drinks. Their cherry limeade and slushies are amazing. I also got a Buffalo sauce from here (was 43 cents with tax) which was big and pretty good, although I don't like paying for sauces.
