Sonic is America's Drive-In. There are other drive-ins in Lovington, NM. But this one did me good on 5/20/2024. A medium cranberry limeade ($1.61) came out in less than 3 minutes after pressing send on my app (hence the discount). A friendly young lady delivered it. My thirst was quenched for the 20-minute drive home. The worst part was all of the nearby road construction. In the time that road construction begins anywhere in New Mexico, The Black Death (a bubonic plague pandemic that occurred in Europe from 1346 to 1353) would have came and went. This review is specific to this location. I love Sonic and unfortunately this one can't quite seem to run a smooth and successful operation. Since this is franchise owned it's difficult to ensure it's up to corporate standards which it isn't. If you want to use the app to order ahead, good luck. 99% of the time it doesn't work and if you do use it, it doesn't save you any time. I've been in town for a week visiting my parents and have been here at least 5 times since and each time it gets worse. As I type this I have been waiting for a Limeade drink I was able to order ahead on the app for once and I've been sitting in my car for 23 minutes since (no joke or exaggeration) waiting for them to bring it out. I'm about ready to leave without it and so is every other car around me. Management needs to step in and get this location up to corporate franchise standards in order for it to be successful. It's a shame my favorite place in the world to get a good drink is so poorly managed giving such a bad experience to so many. Hopefully management does read this and take action. Not just me who thinks like this... look at the rest of their reviews. Won't be back. read more

I had to give a star but if I could've chose 0 I would. Worst, rudest, slowest, most hateful Sonic I've ever been to. The girl taking our order wouldn't let my husband tell her what he wanted because she kept talking over him. Then kept rushing him to hurry up. When asked to repeat our order, she made it clear she was annoyed by making us wait a minute before she would speak to us. I guess she was having a fit. Who knows. Worst worst place. Terrible. Horrible service! They first brought out the wrong order. We waited a total of 45 minutes and they brought out an incomplete order and no drinks. We paid $45 for crappy service even after talking to the manager. We left because it wasn't worth waiting around for something that would probably be wrong again! The only reason I gave a 1 is because zero isn't an option. Waited forever for someone to take our order, then it took longer for the girl to take a simple order than it did to come out. 2 wacky packs for kids....wrong....both burgers meals were wrong. Sonic Drive-In is a maybe for me. I've had great food many times but i've also had bad encounters as well. Today my mother and i were craving some cinnasnacks so we stopped by after school. Our order didn't contain many items but it did take about 20 minutes. Sonic is known for taking a long time but it usually pays off. Well unfortunately not today! We ordered a 5 piece cinnasnack. We got our bag and headed home. Once we got home I opened the bag and to my surprise there is no crème icing! We were already upset because there was no icing but we continued to just eat the cinnasnacks anyways. I take a bite and I am completely shocked. My cinnasnack is completely empty! Ummmm, where do I start? The ordering --- the speakers almost always work but there seems to a problem with Employees being able to take an order properly I'm not sure if they can't hear us because of other vehicles NOT turning their engines off OR they just need to update the system. The food well it's fried food & that's why you went there.... But please don't get me started on the credit card machines. PLEASE for the love of Pete UPDATE. Word sonic ever! They always take forever, never get an order right, none of the card machines work, the speakers hardly ever work, the employees are rude and the owner just doesn't care! I can't tell you how many times I've gone just to get ice cream and they are "cleaning the ice cream machine" or "it's broken". One time I ordered a real lime slush. The carhop brought me a pineapple strawberry slush so I sent it back she brought back out a strawberry like slush, so I pushed the bottom again and said that it still wasn't right and the woman said "it's real fruit isn't it?" I said yes but I wanted just a real lime slush. The carhop brought out my slush and just handed it to me didn't apologize or anything and the slush was definitely not REAL lime! I ordered a large lemon slush and was charged $.40 extra for the flavor. When I pointed out that I was being overcharged as the menu states that 1 flavor is included; I was informed that the manager remembers me from a previous visit and would not be changing the price. This is my favorite sonic. The kids there work very hard. This sonic has improved a lot. The kids working there could probably hear you better if people would turn off their cars while ordering. The sonic is very clean and has great service. read more

The whole time we were ordering the lady on the speaker was rude, but I can't remember what she said her name was, and you can tell she didn't want to be there. Let's not forget it take like half an hour for an order. Stopped at sonic and got 2 drinks and took 20 minutes to get. Only 3 other cars besides mine. This order should not have taken as long as it did. The carhops do not smile. They do not have customer service they act as if they are put out by taking and bringing our order to us. When the Chrismans owned and operated this sonic they would have not put with the rude attitudes or the lack of professionalism. I had to give one star, they are not qualified for that star! read more
