I've been to this Sonic's probably a handful of times. When I lived in Kettering, I went a little more often. I did a DoorDash order recently and ordered the Foot-Long Quarter Pound Coney, Tator Tots, and Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger. The Quarter Pound Coney came wrapped in a mylar sleeve, the tator tots in a cup, and the Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger was wrapped in a foil wrapper. The Quarter Pound Coney looked like it was haphazardly placed in the bun. It wasn't visually appealing. It tasted okay but the hot dog bun seemed a little doughy. The medium tator tops seemed more like a small size to me. The were good but overly salted. I don't mind a little salt but this was way too much. The Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger was okay but again not visually appealing. The order didn't come with any utensils. Sonic's used to provide a fork and knife, which is especially helpful for a messy coney. However, this time they did not. There were two mints and two packets of ketchup. Overall, I would rate this an average experience. It's okay but nothing to rave about and there are plenty of other alternative dining options nearby. read more

Waited 30 minutes after ordering $46 in food on the patio. The three cheeseburger meals and a chicken nugget combo arrived cold with no condiments. Manger just did not care one way or the other. She made it clear that DoorDash orders and drive through are her priorities. read more

I came around 10:26 and the older blk lady on the mic was rude, had an attitude, disrespectful cause I interrupted her smoke break, BOO HOO. I pulled off cause I didn't want my food made with a side of disrespect. read more

Ordered on the app. Took 45 mins to get food. Order was wrong. Took another 25 minutes to be remade. Whoever runs this place needs to either hire more staff or work here themselves. Horrible experience read more

Horrible service. I was sitting in line with two cars in front of me. The car at the speaker was waiting for ever just to get their order taken. It had been over 10 mins and they finally had enough. They drove off and then I decided to drive off because we weren't getting our orders taken. Then when I look to see if anyone is waiting in the line to get their food and there is no one. They had no reason not to take our orders. I had a line behind me of people waiting also. This is a joke of a fast food restaurant. read more

Zero stars rude staff waited over twenty minutes for my food it sat on the counter in there a died I was ignored manager could care less very disrespectful I will be reporting her to corporate screw this place I won't be back read more

Every single time it takes at least 20 minutes to get my food. You'd think "fast food" would be fast but it's not when it comes to this sonic... it's not because they can't, they simply are choosing not to work. I sat in the drive thru for over 30 minutes and not one car moved in the drive thru OR the thing you pull into. Some lazy ass workers if you ask me. read more

way under staffed the person taking my order was rude and snippy and I had to wait in line for almost 30 minutes

Something is always either wrong with the order or it takes unreasonably long to get to you, or both. It's a total gamble if you're gonna get what you paid for or not read more

At lunch time I ordered a #11 combo (chicken sandwich). The lady at the comm asked what sauce I wanted with that. Confused, I asked if the #11 even came with any sauce. She then says she thought I said a different order. Once I confirmed I wanted a number #11 I received no response. I waited for over 10 minutes for any response, asking every once in a while if anyone was there. After still no response, me and two other cars left the line. Last Friday I tried this place, had their strawberry shake and had terrible stomach pains immediately after. read more

Don't order using the app because they will not bring it out. Your food will sit there while they make you sit through the drive thru line to get it. Also the food was loaded with an excess amount of added salt. From the tots to the burger. Salt city. I'm not usually bothered by salt but this was like poring it straight from the shaker into my mouth. Would not recommend it. If you want a smash burger just go to smash burger instead. read more

So. Slow. Pulled into an ordering spot and we waited 15 minutes with the button blinking for no one to take our order. Okay, we thought, maybe they're too busy (they had a LONG line). So we go to order on the app and their app was having technical difficulties for ten minutes. We are still sitting here waiting on food that said it would be out at "6:01" it is 6:11 -- which for a regular restaurant is completely reasonable. it is NOT for a fast food restaurant that is taking the drive through as priority (we can not back out and join the line). in total we have waited more than 25 minutes UPDATE: they "couldn't find" our order and it's now 6:25 when they told us also the fact that you can't add Grillos pickles to other items is ridiculous. read more

Wish I can give this place zero stars but I can't, so I will just give it an one. The serve is soo terrible, order an online order for pick up, got here and check in online. It took them 30 minutes, 30 frekxing minutes to give me 2 corn dogs and an ocean water. This place is an disgrace to sonic read more

The girl at the speaker was SO RUDE! yelling at us before we even got to the speaker. Saying she's just gonna hang up if no one is gonna answer. Then asks if we have a Mobil order, we did not, then gonna ask okay so "fries or tots" and laugh... we started ordering, she kept interrupting. We said "and the last thing is a small mozzarella stick" and before we could even finish the sentence she read the order back and it was WRONG, also without the mozzarella stick. She didn't give us any total. I absolutely do not recommend . read more

This location is the worst. They make up rules about whether you can order from the drive thru or from the kiosks but the kicker is you just have to guess, no rhyme or reason. They don't deserve any business anymore since they have just given up on caring one bit. read more

I wanna put half a star but it won't let me. This is by far the worst location I have been to. Me and my boyfriend tried to order at the drive in spot. We got there at 8:15 ish mind you. We waited about almost 10 minutes and someone said "we have no more servers for the night pull through the drive thru". That was understandable. We went through the drive through and 2 hours went by. We already debated on staying or leaving before hand but we were close to ordering. We got to the speaker waited about 10 minutes and no response. We were talking and decided to leave and right when we pulled off they said "hi what can I get you". Will never go here again. read more

Sheesh. Waited forever to order to come to find out they are only accepting orders from the drive thru. You need to tell folk this when they are sitting in the lot and 2 waitresses are just standing and gabbing in front of us. Boo. We just left. Ate somewhere else. read more

These employees are not nice. They look like they hate their lives every time I've come here. Make sure you confirm your order before leaving because they never give me everything I order. There is always something missing. The food is decent but 0/10 service. read more

Yikes! Read the reviews about 20 min waits as I sat in line... I left line one day bc it took too long. They took the persons order in front of me and it appeared they were only doing one order at a time - as in, they take the order, it seems like same worker goes to make it, and then, when the order is filled, they'll then come back on the mic to take your order. I'm surprised the owners aren't working around the clock to figure out a solution for faster service. I think people will stop going to this place - so, I'd recommend only checking it out if there's no line or no customers... Goal isn't to be critical, but I hope they figure something out read more

Just went to sonic near my house. workers are so rude. pulled up to the drive thru, was waiting for a few minutes just on my phone waiting for someone to say something honestly anything and then the worker goes "are you going to order or what?" i was appalled. The workers were just standing around eating when I pulled up. The blonde worker that took my order wearing the headset was also standing around eating. The guy that took my card just told my total and then gave me my food and just shut the window. I worked in fast food before, would never treat someone like this. Not surprised by all the bad reviews about this location though I am surprised that they're still open. This is the closest location to me but honestly would drive to a different location honestly cause of how I was treated. I also only ordered two things a Dr pepper and a wag cup so it wasn't an extremely long annoying order either. read more

I did a mobile order on the app and it told me to arrive 55 minutes after I placed my order. I arrived five minutes after I placed my order and put the stall number I was in. Waited for 10 minutes then press the button. Waited for another 10 minutes then press the button again. Then went through the drive-through for them to tell me that they did not have my order and it was my fault for leaving the stall and going through the drive-through. I am currently in the drive-through and have been waiting for about 30 minutes. I love Diet Coke... But maybe not 30 minutes worth my time. read more

Fun place to kill an afternoon. We got all the specialty dogs and split them. The New York - My favorite with sauerkraut and hot mustard. Bob wouldn't even try that one The Coney Island-chili and cheese. Chili was too sweet for me but this was Bob's favorite. Cincinnati chili and too sweet for my taste American - (sweet relish, onion, ketchup and another turd... musturd) The Chicago - dill pickle, sesame seeds and peppers. Neither of of us liked this one...dill pickle tasted old. Ate on the patio cause its a beautiful day. Loved our Cherry Limeaid but elected not to get tots cause someone could crush them in our pockets if we refused to share (like happened to Napolean) Gotta love a beautiful day in Ohio. read more

Just took my brother and cousin here for dinner and had probably the worst fast food experience of my life. We each got a 5 piece chicken tender with a chocolate shake pretty simple right ? Apparently not. We couldn't pay at the kiosk where we parked because the chip reader was busted. After 20 minutes of waiting an employee came out to let us know they're dropping fresh chicken and it shouldn't be more then a few minutes longer. Almost 25 minutes later our order was brought to us by an employee who didn't say a single word to me just walked over to my window handed me the food and walked away. I was expecting him to bring out a card reader or something since I hadn't paid but he left before I could even put the shakes down so at that point I just left. The chicken tenders were cold and limp as if they'd been microwaved for a minute then left in the fridge. Shakes were just alright. overall not worth it. When a FREE meal is terrible you know something's gotta change read more

My friends and I came through and got a few milkshakes. They finished them very quickly, but at the speaker we asked if the cashier wouldn't mind repeating our order and were told very curtly to pull up instead. When we got home, we discovered four of our shakes were made incorrectly. We came back and asked for a refund, where they were extremely rude. They remade our milkshakes and when we got them back, they were STILL incorrect. By then, we just gave up and a couple of us didn't drink ours. Overall, not a good experience at all. They were rude and uncompromising every step of the way. read more

Sonic Drive-In - Burgers Near Me - Kettering, Ohio

The Kettering location is the absolute worst. I mean it's really just awful. Service is VERY slow, and they consistently get orders wrong. I will never go back. I have no idea how this location stays in business. I was actually pissed that I was asked to go there to get food, and once again they lived down to my expectations. Several cars in front of me and it took maybe 10 minutes to get to the window. Then I spent 10 minutes AT the window because the order for which they charged me bore absolutely no resemblance to what i actually told them. 20 minutes for one combo meal. And they STILL got it wrong! read more

This location is a joke! They only allow app ordering but too lazy to bring the food outside you have to go through the drive thru. I called for clarification and the girl had the worst attitude. Every time I come here it's a horrible experience but they have a new management sign outside. Just close down!! read more

Service was horrible. Worst I've ever had at a "fast food" restaurant. The drive thru was packed. So we pulled into a stall. We waited 5 minutes in the stall without any contact with the store before ordering on the app. The stall screen updated and said our order was coming out 10 minutes later. We waited an additional 5 minutes before calling the store and being told it would be an additional 6 minutes. Ridiculous!! read more

Corporate really needs to come in and overhaul this location. CONSISTENTLY the worst service in the area. Their AC is always out, so they can only make slushes 2 days out of the week. Machines are always down, so there are no shakes, blasts, etc. You will wait at a bay for 15 minutes solid before they even acknowledge you. Poor customer service at all times. read more

This was the SLOWEST sonic drive thru I have ever been to. I ordered ahead as they advertise "be first in line!" if you use the app. This is not the case, we watched at least 20 cars go through the drive thru before our food was even "On its way". We sat in the stall for a half hour. Our food was cold by that time. If I could rate it out of 10, it would get a 0. The people were also rather unfriendly and the staff was rude when we asked where our food was. read more

Terrible service! Sat in the drive thru for 20 mins and I was the only car in the drive thru. Took 10 mins to order my food and then another 10 mins just waiting for them to take my card! The food wasn't even fresh! Absolutely terrible! Don't ever go here read more

I always thought that if Sonic would come to Dayton, they would do really well. Ordered 2 Bacon Toasters and a lemonade with cherry added. Received bread burnt, super greasy eggs with 1 piece of chewy bacon on each sandwich. Tasted like it was made on a dirty grill. Parked in the drive in spot and pressed the button. Waited 10 minutes before realizing that all service was being dedicated to drive thru only. AWFUL, waited 15 minutes just to get to the speaker in the drive thru just 3 cars ahead of me, when I get to the speaker and sit there in the rain with my window down, finally give my order in the rain, and she says just a minute, and I sit there in the rain waiting on her, finally she comes back and says what else do you want? I repeated my order and then she says nothing by that time I am soaking wet and I said "Its raining out here" she says " $7.79" (No please, No thank you, No pull around) I pull around get my food while she calls me "honey" repeatedly, get to my office litterly 5 minutes to open my food and I swear the fries had to be made days ago, the jr burger was so cold I think it was somewhat froze and the bun was rock hard in three places.
