Thisnis my first time going to Sonic, and even though the drive up menus seemed new. My touch screen for whatever reason failed to work, but it wasn't a problem. I don't know why this place gets so many bad reviews. From the comments I've read it. Seems like people are expecting a gourmet experience at a budget price. In every sale there are three variables... Price, quality, and service. You generally do not get all three. I ordered the double Smashburger combo with tater tots and a large drink. The burger was perfectly done and quite tasty. The tater tots had a nice crunch to them and weren't over or undercooked. Service was quick. I ordered at the outdoor kiosk and it was a little slow to respond, but eventually everything synced up. Parking lot and facility were very clean and the workers were very friendly. Nice clean location, we opted to do the traditional eat in the car rather than going through the drive thru. Once we were ready to order, someone assisted us quickly. We didn't wait too long for someone to arrive to the car. Our order included a cheeseburger with fries, and a hot dog with tater tots. My burger was pretty decent, but the fries and tots were very greasy. It's not the best value for money. The staff that delivered our food to the car was very friendly though. My first time visiting a Sonic and unfortunately I don't think I'd return. I made an order via the app since you get 50% off slushies all day via the app. Unfortunately, upon arriving, we found out the park-in order systems were all broken. There were no signs and it took us 10 minutes of waiting for them to tell us it was broken. Then we pulled up to the drive-thru to learn that they haven't even started making our online order, which, at that point, had already been made for 20-25 minutes. This is just my for my last experience. I like the strawberry cheesecake shakes here. At least, usually I do. I like them because they are very thick and creamy. Not so much my last visit. Can you get a Sonic build in my area 98116 West Seattle. I have to drive out of my way when I have a craving for a Sonic slush or Sonic burger. I gave it one star because on my last visit the cook put tomatoes in my burger with the butt end of tomato still on it. You're supposed to cut the ends off a tomato who ever doesn't know this when putting them on a burger. I've had great burgers from Sonic before so I know how they should taste. I got a Medium Premium chicken bites (popcorn chicken) and I got 8 tiny pieces of chicken. I used to come here and get this and get well over 14 pieces. I got #4 burger which is a Super sonic double cheeseburger and the they wrapped it awful and put it at the bottom of my bag full of food so it was completely squished and deformed when I got to it. I was at the stall they bring the food out to and our server was actually very nice. He tried to get me some more chicken as he thought it wasn't enough as well but the manager said that's it. We arrived at 11pm and after waiting a short while in a stall, the lady said they were closed.. Yelp says the hours were updated a month ago and they close at midnight. This was the closest Sonic on our way to Port Orchard from SeaTac Airport. But it was definitely out of our way only then to find out that they were closed. This literally is the worst Sonic ever! The drive thru smells. Not sure why. Hope it's not coming from kitchen. They are so disorganized. No one seems to have any idea what they are doing. They always get something wrong on the order. Always. You usually can order pretty quickly. Not a lot of customers here. And that is not shocking. But it usually takes quite a bit of time to get your food. We only come here when we really want sonic and don't want to go far. Otherwise we drive over to the Renton location. Recently they havent been able to do drive ins and only drive thrus because of short staff. However, there is no sign that warns you of this until after you push the red button under the drive in menu. You can order drive thru then chill in a drive in spot, but it does take up some time finding out then having to circle back around to take a spot. The line piles up around 8 pm-9 pm so plan accordingly. The food here is okay. It honestly isnt the same as the food over in the Puyallup location as the food here is soggier. The drinks do keep up to par though. Just wish they had wider straws for milkshakes. read more

Idk about you but the commercials are lying about sonic. Probably the slowest place I've ever waited FAST FOOD at. Not only is the food is horrible but the wait in food is what ruined my night overall. As I waited after I placed my order. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and orange soda. I waited in my car for almost 15 minutes. McDonald's would've had my order done within 8mins. The booths that you can order in had homeless people chillin and acting out in the car parking lots. This is the only Sonic for miles so they have a burden of representing. The location is good - the Sonic itself is clean and of a recent design. Both of those things were reassuring. I took my husband to enjoy the drive-in experience as he has never done that. I have fond memories of Sonic from my childhood and wanted to share that. Unfortunately, they only come to your car if you order via the app, which we didn't know, and which imo defeats a lot of the novelty of Sonic, which is to drive up and press that red button and order from your car. Also, no roller skates were in site...So, we adapted just to be able to at least give him a chance to try the food and we went through the drive through. Service was a pinch slow, not so much as to start griping, but slowish, but all the food items were delicious. I go here for drinks all the time but will absolutely never get food again lol!! I had the saddest fast food breakfast burrito of my life here. We still make jokes about this burrito all the time because of how bad it was. Included a photo of the advertised burrito vs what I got. Obviously, it's fast food, I'm not expecting to get the actual advertised thing. However, this wasn't even a half assed attempt. It was the thinnest burrito ever. Nothing in the burrito was chopped. I've been here a few times over the years and never been impressed. One thing I can tell you about evey Sonic experience at every location I have visited. The Franchise Owners don't care and Corporate Sonic doesn't care either. If they did, reviews, food and service would all be much better! After taking a two year break, I decided to come back and give this location a try. When I arrived and hit the button, the girl on the intercom said car service is only available for online orders, If you want to eat, you need to use the drive through. As I sat there, I tried to understand why. If I place an online order, you bring out my food. If I place an order from my car, you bring out my food. There is literally no difference, other than attitude and laziness. I entered the drive through, I jut ordered fries, because my appetite for Sonic was no longer full. I pulled forward paid and waited 5 minutes. As I waited, I watched the person in the window text with a fever. No idea who he was texting, but I thought it was less tha professional. I also thought, those fries are going to be so hot a crisp, I don't care. After no one brought the food out, he went and got it. Handed me a bag and I drove off. The fries were old, stale, room temp and I suspect it was "Super Text's" job to grab them 5 minutes ago, but he was trying to connect with a female who wasn't impressed with his burger flipping skills. I don't care what you do, you should do it well and if this owner isn't happy business isn't booming, maybe he's needs better management and to be more involved. If Corporate Sonic isn't impressed with reviews, maybe they should fly someone out to experience exactly what is being talked about, because in all actuality, 95% of my trips to Sonic have been for beverages only, because the food is worse than a convenience store burger and fries. And when you consider sonic cost as much or more as Mc Donalds, Wendy's or Burger King, I honestly don't know how they keep the lights on because every other national chain has better food, quality and service. Sonic is finally in Kent! The opening of this place has been MUCH anticipated and it was clear to see that on day two when we went. On opening day, there was a line around the block. I'm sure it messes with traffic quite a bit, unfortunately. I've had Sonic before so I pretty much knew what to expect, but I really wanted to try one of those pickle juice slushees. We also ordered jumbo popcorn chicken, a footlong hotdog, tater tots, and honey bbq wings. The popcorn chicken & the honey bbq wings were pretty yummy! I'd definitely get those again. The pickle slushee... Was a disappointment. Upon first taste it almost reminded me of a lime slushee. After I tasted it a little bit more I could taste the dill pickle taste to it, but I still wasn't incredibly impressed. Let's just say have you ever ordered cheeseburger, fry and coke and immediately and with force and say is what else?? But the tone is with force and annoyance. We get to the window to pay met with older lady. We asked for ranch & bbq sauce told we have to pay for it .28 each, do you still want it she asks! Ordered large pickle fries got home it was a small. The burgers were lacking any life and the drive thru lady was rude as heck. Who needs to pay for food and get charged extra for condiments for your food and be treated in the worst way? Oof. I've spent (wasted) many hours over the years having philosophical conversations and deep thought trying to figure out how Sonic as a business stays afloat. It's always a little hard to rate a restaurant like Sonic... at least for Seattle area Sonics, the bar is set pretty low. You just don't go to a Sonic here expecting to have a stellar experience... So in that context, this was a delightfully mediocre experience. Service was pretty slow, but not glacial -- 21 minutes from order to receipt. Food was relatively hot and fresh, and only a couple of accuracy/quality issues. Staff was cordial, not friendly, not rude. So yeah... for Sonic, 4 stars. read more
