Such slow service really disappointing one of our favorites, but not worth the weight not even in drive-through

Sonic is a winner... In terrible service and u welcoming ambience. I gave up going to the sonic near my house but thought I try this location. There must be something about sonic that makes people hate their job. The plan: two orders. Two drinks. The result: one order, one drink. Apparently only one transaction per car is allowed at this location. A trip to taco bell. While we waited 5 minutes I drive thru for one drink, I asked for the manger to confirm we could really only order one drink. The staff said she was the manager but refused her name. I was with my friend so I left it at that... But it annoyed me enough that, after reading other terrible sonic reviews and the response to please give sonic a call ...I gave sonic a call. Don't do it. Let my migraine prevent yours. After explaining the situation 3 times the customer service rep asked me for my order number. I explained again that there was no order number because I wasn't allowed to order. She was befuddled by this, partly because it was so strange but mostly because she hasn't been trained to handle events like this. So I was then put on hold. Ten minutes later she came back to ask me to hold some more. I asked her what was the purpose? She was quite befuddled. " Why are you placing me on hold? What is that going to do? She mumbled words. I said I didn't quite catch that and asked her to repeat. It was clear she wasn't 100 percent sure why she said something about transferring me to the store manager and there being not much they can do because there wasn't an order on my account. I asked her, a little scenario... Let's assume the person who denied me service and refused to provide a name really is the manger... Or that same person answers the phone and claims they are the manager? How does that help? She said something about needing to investigate to see if it was something they could make right. Ah, yes. The company doesn't believe this happened. I laughed. I didn't want anything except to let them know what happened. But even, thank you for letting us know, was too hard. Hint: If you want to figure out the veracity of something ask for details... Drive thru July 27th between 3:40 and 4:00 pm . The girl running the registered has long black hair that she had pulled back into a ponytail. One drink, a strawberry lemonade was paid for in quarters. read more

Terrible service here! , wait times are CRAZY and unacceptable! They literally don't care for people who order thru stalls/apps! All of us stall people had to go in to see what was going on! Put in an order around 2:50ish through the app, and was supposed to be ready by 3pm, got it by 4:30pm and it was missing items, had to go in again, and of course the bag was ripped on the bottom and soggy af! Didn't get full order until 5pm they said they were going to bring the food out over 30 mins ago, rang the bell multiple times and they said the same thing over and over, barely ever saw them deliver orders outside. ended up being like a 2 hour wait basically had to go in and ask what happened, drive thru seemed to get food, but not any of the stalls, please fix your system and service, this place needs to be shut down cause clearly they don't care about customers! read more

My friend took me here for my first time at Sonic, and honestly, while it wasn't mindblowing, it wasn't a bad experience at all. We had both ordered on the mobile app to sit in the car and eat, though we realized later that you can't check in two different orders at the same stall. This ended up not being a problem though - we just let the employees know by pressing the button and they brought out both orders. It was pretty fast for me! I ended up getting a strawberry cheesecake shake, chicken bites, and a buffalo chicken tender wrap. All pretty good, though I think price-wise it was a little high, so not sure if I'd go back all the time. There's a $6 all-American Smasher meal right now though which didn't look too bad. After an already disastrous day for my family and I, we stopped here hoping to cheer the kids up with some ice cream and food, yet it took over 45 minutes to get our basic orders. This is supposed to be FAST FOOD. With the price we paid and the amount of time spent waiting, we could've gotten something better quality to eat at a sit down. If you come here, go though the drive thru and then park, don't think that you're getting any kind of priority service if you park in the stall. This is a sonic wide issue however as a few years ago I went to the Fullerton location and tell me why it took an hour to get 3 blasts? Granted it was late at night (10pm) but we were one of the few cars there. I don't get it at all. When I complained about that to the branch I had the run around about a manager calling me back, which never happened, and when I escalated it to corporate, nothing happened at all. Moral of the story if you're going to go to sonic, go through the drive thru or you'll be at the bottom of the list with those drive thru orders stacking up ahead of you. read more

Horrible wait, slow service, and honestly the worst food I've ever had from Sonic Drive In. I actually feel bad writing this because the employee working was clearly by himself, handling everything drive-thru orders, stall orders, online orders, and dine in. We originally just came in to use the restroom and ended up eating inside because the wait was so long, which is when I noticed he was juggling it all alone. Unfortunately, the dine in area really needs attention. The tables and floors were filthy, and overall cleanliness was poor. Because the employee was stretched so thin, our food came out cold and unappetizing, which made the experience even worse. This visit was just horrible overall. When I originally encountered Sonic Drive-In when living in Fullerton in 2006, I genuinely enjoyed the menu offerings as there was a particular level of pride and professionalism attached to the name, however that no longer is the experience I'm encountering in 2026. After passing up on Burger King due to them not having inside seating and their drive-thru being the only option, we tried reliving the grand days of Sonic's. I reckon a better move would've been to "drive by" as the experience we had was truly horrible as the comprehension levels of the woman at the register was non-existent as "no ice" in our drinks was requested, yet I got enough ice to sink the Titanic all over again. My Wife's chicken tender meal was catastrophic as there was a poor interpretation of "Texas Toast" which didn't come with butter, a single onion ring that looked like it might've been swept from underneath the fryers as I'd say it was more of a fossil than being "crispy". What they called a "Smashburger" was more of a "Squashburger" as their was more ingredients in the container than the bun itself. $23 I'll never get back as I had chosen to chase nostalgia that is fine when the experience delivered lives up to it, but such wasn't the case. A big back Saturday night ensues... A party of 3 we spent $72. I love the idea of the drive in-- truly, I mean that's why sonic is so unique. We ordered so much I can't even remember. I remember the corn dog I got wasn't that warm and the battered part was kinda stale tasting-- no fun :(. And as far as the cherry limeade slushie-- they didn't give us the signature cherry on top! Boooo! That's the whole point of those commercials and their cherries. Customer service was lackluster. I think they were severely understaffed so I feel for the like 2 or 3 workers handling all the cars and the orders. I'd still come back tho. Burgers are fire 100% they don't miss on that. This was my second time coming to this location. My sister usually gets deals here, so today we both got strawberry slushes with sweet cream. It was 79 cents today so that was a good deal. Last time I came I got the cherry slush as well. Their menu consist of: burgers & fries they also have combo too, $1.99 menu that has hot dogs, tater tots, and queso wraps, cheeseburgers, snacks, flavorista flavors, breakfast, frozen shakes, and more. Cherry slush: the cherry was very tart, not too sweet, but it was tart. The slushy was smooth, silky, and easy to drink. I would give this drink a 3/5 since I didn't how tart it was and if I added sweet cream it would've helped the tartness out. Strawberry slush with sweet cream: the strawberry slush has a great aromatic, smooth, and easy to drink. The sweet cream was sweet, delicious, and melts in your mouth with the slushy. I would give this a 5/5 since this was the BEST drink I have ever had. I would get this again with different flavors. The service was fast & employee brought out our drinks very quick. When this Sonic opened many years ago, it was great! We don't go there that often anymore, however we did stop in on Tuesday, Mar. 17, 2026 to get a couple of shakes. Went to the stall order parking, pressed the red button for the speaker, they answered right away, but the sound was so spotty it was hard to hear. Ordered a small Classic Caramel Shake, they replied with "a banana shake", I said no a Caramel shake, they said "banana shake with Caramel?", I said no just a Carmel shake no banana, they replied okay, "one large caramel shake", I said no a small shake, she said okay "small shake". Our second order was for a mini Classic Peanut Butter shake, after we ordered the screen prompt said "Reeses Pieces Peanut Butter Shake", we said your screen has Reeses Pieces in the shake, we only want the Peanut Butter Shake, they replied, "do you want Reeses Pieces in your shake?", we said no. This went back and forth a few more times and the screen items never changed from "Reeses Pieces" even though we ordered a plain Peanut Butter shake. Time to slide my card for payment, tried 6-7 times to pay, it would not go through. All this was about 4-5 minute ordeal to order two shakes and pay. Waitress finally comes out, we tell her the peanut butter shake description is wrong on the screen and card reader doesn't work. This is the most low vibe, cursed place I've been to in a while. One star for the sweet employee who did their best. Outside of that, the intercom system didn't work to order from the car. When I walked inside to order in person, I had to press a button and waited ~5 min for someone to come out and take my order. I ordered two simple drinks. Took ~10 minutes to come out despite 3 workers in the back and no less than 5 cars parked and at the drive thru combined. The ice machine was broken???! What is the point of a beverage store without ice??? I got a room temp soda. The fresh limes were concerningly rancid. Between the sterile, soulless lights of the computer screens hanging too high above my head to comfortably read, the less than stellar cleanliness of bathrooms, and insane wait time for a simple drink order, I think this place should just close. Since I had a few minutes before an appointment and Sonic was close by, I stopped here for a quick bite. The person that took my order was polite and efficient. She made sure she had my order correct. The wait for my order was short. The car hop that delivered my food was polite and friendly, She made sure I got my napkins, ketchup packets and straw. I ordered a hamburger, fries (no salt) and a medium drink. The burger was good but nothing to write home about. However, the fries were nasty. They were cold and crunchy. Crunchy like they were overcooked, They looked like crumbs. They were just bits and tiny pieces. The largest fries were no more than a half inch long. In addition, the fry container was barely full. I ate some and chose to throw out the rest. It is hard for me to imagine that somebody would scrape up nasty fries like this, put them in a fry container and send them out to a customer. My friend and I were in the neighborhood and visited this location around 4:45 pm. There was no line in he Drive-Thru and the parking lot was not too busy. I ordered a double smash burger with mozzarella sticks and a strawberry lemonade. I think I'v eaten at a Sonic once before, many years ago, so I will say the strawberry lemonade and mozzarella sticks were my favorite. I was really looking forward to the smash burger and found it too salty. I would still go back and try another item in its place. The staff were super nice and they made our food fresh! read more

Now look at the picture, that's what I got on chili cheese fries for almost 6$. I had 8 fries in there, didn't taste the chili because the cheese is so strong and salty. Today I ordered a large French vanilla iced cold brew with easy ice. I was handed a large cup loaded with ice all the way down to the bottom, and no vanilla syrup. There are never any Sonic locations near where I live. I see their commercials and I'm always like, "Yumm! That milkshake looks good!" and wish I could try their food. They come up with some really (seemingly) delicious mashups in their shakes and I love me a good milk shakey every once in a while. I know, I know, it's fast food but hey, sometimes I get cravings so, don't judge! How did I find this location you ask? I was in Huntington headed to a dealership and saw a Sonic sign in the distance. Me: "NO WAY! There's a Sonic here?!? Awesome!!" Passenger in the car: ... Krickets ... I drove in, pulled up into a slot, and noticed that not a single item I have ever seen on the commercials was offered on the menu. There was an interactive screen which was pretty cool but upon inputting my order and attempting to slide my card through the reader, I realized it didn't work. BZZZZ! Minus a star. I pushed the red button to ask how to use the machine and the person on the other end informed me she'd have to take my order. I got a "fresh banana shake" and a "bacon cheeseburger on crispy sourdough". I then waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. And... you get the idea. Fifteen minutes later I was hangrier than ever and went inside the empty restaurant to find out WTF was going on with my food. Did they have to go hunting for the cow or wait for the banana plant to produce fruit???? I mean SERIOUSLY!! BZZZZ! Minus another star. There was not one single person at the counter. So, I waited. See the theme here? I FINALLY see a head zip past the window in the door to the kitchen and push the door open like, "HELLO?!?!?" A teenager comes out, I ask about my food & express my frustration after having waited FOREVER. She says she'll go "check on it" and advises that I wait in the car because they'll bring it out to me when it's ready. Ummm, okaaaaaay. Wait until WHEN?? Tomorrow?? I went back to my car and 5 minutes later another teenager comes out with my order. She asks for my card & says the screen didn't take the payment because it's broken. I ask where her card reader is and she says she "has to take the card to the back to run it". Well that's 2000% shady to say the least. Needless to say my card was and will be in LOCK mode until I need to make a purchase then it's getting locked again immediately. Not trying to rack up bogus charges from what ever sham is being run out of this location. BZZZZ! Minus a star. Now to the food. I open the wrapper for the burger and it's bone dry meat, the bread was dry & NOT crispy, the lettuce was soggy, there's ZERO bacon and ZERO sauce. Imagine me making a stank face and saying, "What the???" Next, I'm like ok let's try this shake. Big mistake. It was literally a half a banana thrown into a cup with soft serve ice cream on top. YES. I'M SERIOUS. Best thing about it was the whipped cream. BZZZ!! Minus another star. There's one star left but they don't even deserve that! Zero stars for this place. That's what $13 buys you at this Sonic. Two items to add to the trash bin. GARBAGE. Worst experience EVER. Such a let down after waiting YEARS to try Sonic. I will NEVER again donate my hard earned money to their garbage can, which is exactly where the two items went. Literally the best Sonic ever!!!!! My pickle fries are always cooked to perfection. The service is always immaculate, they make sure to keep the best looking youngins serving the front me and my friends love this location, all the big backs rating this location 1 star outta be ashamed of themselves. DON'T EVER WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! This location is utter trash. Brain dead morons work here. We dropped $25+ on food and it was wrong every step on the way. Had it corrected twice to get home and find out more things wrong with it. Nobody knows what they're doing. Even when you go over the order with them they still manage to get it wrong. Not to mention the quality. Dear God, it's awful, by far the worst fast food in all of HB. Get rid of this place. Have it a 3 year break to see if they improved, if anything, it's even worse.
