I've seen on social media this place and it's right next to my favorite banana matcha place Brewstory. We walked in and stood and watched the show. The 2 guys behind the bar are extremely talented. We stood and watched for about 15 minutes. These were the characters that were produced. It's such a cute idea and a very welcoming atmosphere. We got there close to opening, just a few people but I can imagine the line gets long . If you can find someone who likes cotton candy, this is the place to go. My friend was in town with her 7 and 9 year old so being the fun Auntie I am, we ventured down to Huntington Beach to Polar Playground. They have a variety of desserts and fun treats but we came for their character cotton candies. How do we not have a character creating cotton candy shop in Los Angeles proper?! This is genius and I'm obsessed with Polar Playground~! Good news for those of you also driving down from the city, there is parking! They have a parking lot full of spots, yay. We've heard of long waits on socials before coming and although the shop was crowded, not overly so and no egregious waits. I think we waited 20 minutes for them to start our orders but we had so much fun in those 20 minutes watching others get Stitches, Rainbow Unicorns, Elmo ~ all these other characters we didn't order. So it was an enjoyable wait kinda like a Disneyland queue. We had a lot to look at while we waited. It was so hard to choose which character to get...I wanted them all. All the more reason for me to come back! But I ended up choosing Eeyore for myself and he was sooooo cute and adorable and gloomy ~ just perfect. My nieces got AmongUs & Carnage - I was shocked neither picked the Labubu which you can get in any color - fascinating children. The cotton candy was actually delicious also! I honestly thought I would just take a photo and enjoy the artistic elements but --- I couldn't stop munching away at the dissolving candy treat. The staff here are amazing and talented. They learn on the job and so creative with the details. Three of them worked together on creating pink labubu (you can pick any color bụt my niece wanted strawberry) and Super Sonic. Took 10 mins. Not many tables inside. Maybe 5? That would be difficult if it's crowded and only a few families could be accommodated. If you take left overs home, they will give you a giant clear bag. One of the most unique places I've been for dessert. I've been wanting to go here forever with my grandkids, so we finally got to try these spectacular cotton candy desserts. The service is excellent. You do stand in a long line, then you pay the register for what you want, and then when they call your name, you go up to the glass and you watch them make your spectacular creature out of cotton candy. Each color of cotton candy is different tasting. My grandkids were so excited and impressed by these superb creations. I finally got to check out check this place after probably a year of drooling from Instagram and TikTok foodie posts. This place is right up the street from my cousin. Since my job takes me to travel and odd hours, it was very hard to coordinate a visit to this place. They have limited hours & days open. When we finally went out there, the line was long. But very organized. The venue was clean and had several spots for photo opportunities. We brought her grandson to check out this place as well. This place is strictly ice cream, sweet treats and coffee drinks. So get your savory on before you go here. One of the best features is they have open viewing to see their mastery at work. The characters themselves were kind of pricey for something that will only last maybe an hour and its most fluffy deliciousness state. For me I really did like the cotton candy figures. This is a very fun stop if you're in Huntington Beach. We got there shortly after they opened, and I was the last to order before they asked anyone else showing up to line up outside. There were probably 8 orders ahead of us at that time, and it took about an hour to get to our blue penguin request. They have a ton a character options for their cotton candy and also great drink and ice cream selections. These art pieces are huge however so if you don't like to give your kiddo a ton of sugar I recommend picking one character for the entire family to enjoy it's more than enough. My first pick was Patrick from SpongeBob (my friend got Venom and her daughter got the unicorn) 10/10 Plus, the cotton candy is all different flavors. Not just your generic run of the mill cotton candy taste. I believe most of my Patrick was passion fruit. It is fun watching them make it in front of you as well. This is a cute little shop that I've been wanting to come to an a long time. Once you enter you, get indulge with the smell of sweet cotton candy. The customer service is great. We were able to get samples and make our decision the type of ice cream that we wanted. It was so good. I got the Matcha milkshake, but if you are a little sensitive to your stomach to milky things I would just get a smaller one, but overall was good, definitely recommended will be coming back again for more. Okay so I am aware this place has been opened for some time now and it blew up on social media. I run errands in the same plaza on the weekends and it's always packed with a line out the door, thus I never went in. However, I decided to get my errands done in the same plaza on a random Friday evening and there was no line so in I went! Of course they're known for their cotton candy characters at $20+ a pop. I can't imagine cotton candy ingredients costing very much so you're definitely paying for the experience and creativity behind the product. Since I wasn't going to eat a whole character I decided to just get a milkshake. I sampled 2 ice cream flavors and then decided to do the ube milkshake. It comes with whipped cream and a cherry on top for about $7.50. Hands down the ube tastes even better as a milkshake. I rarely crave for milkshakes but this one was very good. The taste of ube was right on, presentation was appealing, and the texture was perfectly thick. Customer service was decent, fun ambiance because you get to watch the workers make the characters, and the milkshake I got today was bomb. I literally don't have any complaints and that's rare.
