8.00 icecream shake
Sheri H.

What is happening to our favorite fast food places? I can look past the under staffing, the reduced hours, and using apps to speed service up and reduce ordering errors, but SONIC, where do you get off on serving 9 tater tots, a light drizzle of chili and a hint of cheese for $4.79 ? That is .69 for each tot after tax and tip. $8.00 for an icecream shake. We drove up during the lunch rush and the place was a ghost town. It's probably time to rethink the pricing structure or offer a better value on portion size.

I come to this Sonic pretty regularly and it's never really that fast but today I had my worst experience to date. I waited for my order for 25 minutes before I called the speaker again to ask how long it would be. The employee was very short and just said "it'll be out soon." No apology or anything. Then I finally got my food and unwrap my burger and this is what I get- completely smashed and the buns falling off. My tots were cold and soggy as if someone had bagged the order and then it was just left on the counter and no one brought it out to me. I could've overlooked the wait if the food was hot and fresh when I got it or if the employees had shown one ounce of an apology for my wait.

The snicker blizzard was missing the snickers.

The poutine was fabulous. The fry coating was crisp and tasty and the gravy was full of flavor. The Reuben sandwich is outstanding! The way they cut that corned beef was nothing short of magic. An egg on there? What? I've never heard of such a thing, but yes please. And I had the brûlée corn; which I may need to learn how to replicate because I've never seen this on any menu in Chicago, but it's too far to travel as often as I'll be thinking about that dish! The old fashions were smooth! Went with vanilla and loved the subtle flavors. Everyone was so nice and the atmosphere was a delightful mix of old school pub/English castle. All of it was just what I was hoping to find. Food off the beaten path that deserves a huge shout out. In a town of bland flavors, this place shines like a real gem!

Sat in a comfy table with a padded pew close to the bar with our backs to the wall, which instantly put my hyper vigilant husband at ease (IYKUK). Chatted a bit with our kind server who was also a millennial, how do I know this? The eye contact and lovely snarky conversation. My husband ordered his med rare, which probably came out more med and not enough pink for his liking. Correction on my part, I got the mahi mahi with parmesan grits and green beans and I didn't even need to look at my pictures to recall, it was that memorable of a meal. Being early January a parking spot nearby was an easy find, I imagine though finding one come spring will feel like a miracle. I'd love to stay at the attached hotel but found it's already booked a year out. Doesn't surprise me, the old English charm with its stone and dark wood is straight up story book.

Had a great meal here while visiting Branson. If you're in the mood for big, indulgent comfort food…read morelike burgers and loaded nachos, this place really delivers. We ordered the Pork Trashcan Nachos and they were incredible -- piled high and packed with flavor. Definitely a must-try if you come here. I also tried the Mac & Cheese Burger. It was fun and unique, though I personally prefer a thicker burger patty rather than a thinner one. Still, it was creative and tasty, and the overall food quality was excellent. The restaurant had a fun, energetic vibe and the service was friendly and attentive, which made for a really enjoyable dining experience. One slightly odd moment at the end: our server handed us a card encouraging a review, which is totally fine, but it also included a religious message ("Jesus saves"). Everyone is certainly entitled to their beliefs, and I respect that, but it felt a little unexpected as part of the dining experience. Personally, I'd rather just keep the focus on the great food and service. Overall though, a really good meal and a fun place to eat if you're visiting Branson. Definitely worth stopping in for the nachos alone.

The custard in the coconut cream was cold, creamy and laced with coconut and topped with a perfect level of whipped crème. I'm not a whipped cream girl but it was pretty tastee! The ambiance of this place is fun and retro. There is a main jukebox at the front and smaller options at some of the tables. The menu included about six different pies and several types of cheesecake. There were also several ice cream options as well as diner food, like burgers and dogs and sandwiches. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who eats.

Cakes & Creams in Branson is such a fun little treat stop if you're in town and want really yummy…read moredessert. It has that classic vacation town feeling where getting ice cream just feels like part of the whole trip. Plus they have funnel cake and how can you not stop for funnel cake?! Great spot to cool off after walking around all day too! They have a lot of options, so it's easy to find something that sounds good whether you want pizza, hot dogs, a burger, ice cream, cake, or something extra sweet. Portions were generous in traditional diner fashion, everything was delish as well! Inside can get busy, especially during peak tourist times when we were there, so expect a little chaos and line movement going slow depending when you go. That's pretty normal for Branson, but worth knowing if you're tired or in a hurry. Overall, a pretty great stop!
