I ordered the DAD Stack with smashed tots, and both were absolutely delicious. We had great service from Shawn. He was super nice and welcoming, and he helped us with the menu and ordering. While we were eating, the owner, Clay, even stopped by our table to thank us for coming in. I really appreciate places where the staff are genuinely friendly and you can tell they actually enjoy what they do it makes the whole experience that much better. Between the quality of the food, the menu, the cool atmosphere, and the great service, DAD Jokes is definitely going into my regular burger rotation right alongside Kenny's. The biggest endorsement might be from my kids. They've asked me EVERY DAY since we went if we can go back to DAD Jokes! We'll definitely be back soon!

It's also really well decorated, which adds to the overall atmosphere. The service was amazing as well! The restaurant reminded me of a local burger spot you'd find in California, which I loved and made me feel right at home. The burgers were tasty and definitely hit the spot. The only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is because the fries were a little too salty, and I wish there was more indoor seating. They have plenty of outdoor seating, but with the Texas heat right now, it's just too hot to sit outside comfortably. All in all, we had a great experience. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try, and we'll be visiting again!

The signature Wulf Burger with the red, beef flavored bun is superb!!! It is so good! The bun flavoring really makes a difference and enhances the taste of the burther. The fries are also really good! I highly recommend Wulf Burger, and one of these days I'll actually go to the restuarant to see it in person for a change.

I love how you can see everything being made right there and you can tell they care about presentation too. They basically build your burger out in the front and saw the cook personally adjust the bun to make it centered so you know they care here. Food wise, I got the original wulf burger with an extra patty making it 3 patties total and I also got a side of extra crispy sweet potato fries. Only thing bringing the score down was the pickles. Don't get me wrong. Pickles on a burger aren't my thing but if I do eat it, it really depends on the type of pickle. I personally don't like sweet pickles in general and if it's in my burger it throws off my appetite. I did order with no pickles but they forgot to keep it out. With that being said, I think they use the sweet butter pickles which I do not like at all but with taking them out myself, I wasn't able to taste it at all which was a plus. Burger itself was amazing and well seasoned. I won't say it rocked my world because I've had better but this one was a solid 8.5/10. Sweet potato fries were top notch as well. I think they put sugar on it but wasn't overly sweet because I think it was also salted. Nice balance. I always get my fries extra crispy/well done at different places and when they have sweet potato fries, they almost always burn them but not this time. They were perfectly crispy and soft inside. 10/10 fries. I got two sauces. The house sauce and the sriracha ranch. House sauce was 10/10. I think it's like garlic mustard aioli and it was too good. I don't like mustard on my burger but the tangyness was super subtle and paired well. Sriracha ranch was okay. 4/10 because it was a little runny and honestly tasted a little watered down. If I could go back, I'd just stick to the house sauce. Overall experience was great and would definitely come back. Great service, staff, food and atmosphere. Just watching the food being cooked/made and smelling the burger just makes you want it more. GOOD EATS AND GET THAT MEAT

Mike, the owner, greeted us right away and made us feel genuinely welcome. When he found out we wanted to watch a specific college football game, he immediately turned it on for us. That level of hospitality is hard to find these days. As an added bonus, Mike treated us to a complimentary portion of the Brioche Banana Foster French Toast, and it was absolutely outstanding. The brioche was perfectly prepared, and the banana foster topping took it to another level. It was easily one of the best brunch items I've had in a long time. For our main meal, my son and I both ordered the Chicken and Waffles from the brunch menu. It was a perfect 10 out of 10. The chicken was light, crispy, and flaky without being heavy, and it sat atop a perfectly cooked waffle. Every bite was delicious. I originally planned on ordering an iced tea, but our waitress was so friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable that she convinced me to try a Bloody Mary instead. I'm glad she did because it was excellent and paired perfectly with brunch. What really stood out wasn't just the amazing food and drinks, but the overall atmosphere and service. Everyone made us feel welcome, and the attention to detail was exceptional. Honestly, I don't understand why this place isn't more crowded. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will absolutely be back again. If you're looking for great food, outstanding service, and a welcoming atmosphere, Local Open is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!

I look forward to getting to use the virtual golf bay sometime, we are just usually on more of a time crunch. The bar makes a great mule. The place has a "hang out" vibe- to me that means tvs to watch, activities while you socialize and have drinks, a well rounded selection of shareable appetizers for if you're just having a few from the bar and playing cornhole. The decor is perfect for the theme and it feels a masculine version of sophisticated and relaxed at the same time.

The absolute standout was a new special, blackened chicken pasta. Three out of the six of us ordered it, and it was delicious. The penne was tossed in a creamy, lightly tomatoey sauce with sun-dried tomatoes, something between a cream sauce and a vodka-style sauce, rather than an alfredo or marinara, and the blackened chicken was really flavorful, perfectly cooked. Honestly, this dish needs to be a permanent menu item. I had the Caesar salad, it was good, a little heavy on the dressing, and my sister's garden salad was fresh and tasty. For dessert, the banana pudding was fresh and absolutely something I'd order again. Fries Oreos were kind of a fun novelty. Glad I tried them, but once was enough. Service was impeccable: friendly, warm, prompt. We left with leftovers, and since I was heading out of town, my sister was kind enough to take care of mine. Great meal, great service. That blackened chicken pasta was the star of the show. Forgot to take pictures.

I went with the meatloaf since I kept seeing people call it the best thing on the menu, and they were right. It came topped with that house glaze and a pile of mashed potatoes, and it honestly tasted like something my grandma would have put in front of me on a Sunday. We also tried the pot roast, which was fall apart tender, and made room for the cobbler at the end even though we were stuffed. Big portions, fair prices, and the service was warm without being over the top. There is a sweet little story behind the name too if you flip the menu over. This has quietly become one of our regular stops in McKinney and I do not see that changing, especially with the great service and atmosphere!
