Recently was in the area and visiting someone that wanted a chili dog. I do not eat this food personally, but they had a large menu. The staff was friendly, and the food came out quickly. I think that is what you are looking for in a fast-food joint. No bathrooms, no drive thru. They have stalls where you hit a button and then someone brings the food to you. Got there before the rush started and ordered my food, then waited 30 minutes for my "fast" food. Then you'd expect it to at least be hot when it arrived. But no, it was cold. I feel like if I have to wait that long for food it should at least be hot. Not to mention my mozzarella sticks look like someone creamed all over em. We went there last night, got there right before 11. Website says they close at midnight. Pushed the red button and waited. An employee walked by sweeping...looked right at us and our open window, smiled, said nothing and walked by. We thought service was slow bc maybe he was the only one working. After about 7 minutes, I called and was told they closed at 11 bc it's been slow. Look...we get it. No business, you want to go home. But at least update your hours, put up a sign...SOMETHING. All anyone had to do was reply via the little speaker that they were closed. Instead, they just ignored customers who were there an hour before their published closing hours. I get it. It's fast food. Probably a crew of teenagers. But you can still be respectful and tell your customers, who think you're still open, that you're not. Don't just let people sit around and wait. I've been here so many times and have never had such poor service. We mobile ordered and were missing a burger, so we went back with the receipt to get it. I can understand that it's busy and possibly understaffed ( I work in food service ) but it took about 15 minutes for anyone to even answer after pressing the button. Went to this location on Saturday and had a plurality of issues. First, I ordered the chicken sando that had lettuce tomato on it. Instead, I got one slathered in mayo and a few pickles (a different menu item). On top of that, it was smooshed and tasted like rubber. My son threw his burger out after taking one bite as he said it was inedible. They brought me a limeade instead of the cherry limeade I ordered. All this and the wait was about 15-20 minutes. This is by far the worst sonic I've been to. I work in town so a lot of times I need something fast. When I ordered at the store, my order was always wrong. I often order burgers with no cheese, and this seems to be too hard of a concept to understand. I began using the app to order and things seemed fine. Over the last three months though, the incorrect orders have returned. For example, I ordered a burger with pickles and mustard. I received a junior burger with lettuce, mayo, ketchup and bacon. Today I ordered Buffalo popcorn chicken and could only eat a few pieces that went fried to a crisp that even a metal fork couldn't pierce them. The one redeems factor, and why this isn't 1 star, is the employees are always nice and their lemonade is superb. Outside of that, would not recommend. read more

Amazed! I've stopped by two days in a row after not having been here for months and was totally surprised! The service has been really wonderful. So polite and smiling. Had a bacon breakfast burrito with big pieces of crispy bacon and fresh fluffy egg yesterday. The corn dog today was a good fun snack. Hot dog is 3stars but cornmeal tasted perfect. A lil crunch to the outside and nice taste inside that complimented the hot dog up to 4stars. To top it off my soda was half price due to Happy Hour! What a pleasant surprise. read more

Usually enjoy my stops at Sonic, but not this time. My husband and I stopped at the Dripping Springs Sonic for a Diet Coke on December 19, after a day in Austin. We paid with my debit card and an adult male, not a teenager, quickly brought us our drink. I had paid with my debit card and it seemed to have gone through. He handed us the drink and was extremely friendly, even smooth. When I questioned him about the fact that I had already paid, he told us the transaction had not gone through. Therefore, I handed him $4.00, which he accepted. Needless to say, my account was also charged. I paid $8.00 for a lousy Diet Coke. I know this could have been a mistake, but the smoothness of his manner and the fact that when I called the Sonic to ask them about it, they did nothing, just referred me to my bank, makes me suspicious and mad. read more

There's nothing worse than getting a reheated burnt hamburger that has been reheated because it's just sitting there for no telling how long waiting on a customer. I want to like this place, I really do. With the ever-decreasing number of places to eat near downtown Dripping, I believe most of us are rooting for the few remaining ones. This Sonic is clearly understaffed, and I sympathize. The employees there are doing their best, and I appreciate their good attitude, but it's impossible to get food anymore via the drive-in. No one answers after you push the button. I gave up after waiting 20 minutes, and another 10 at the front, without anyone ever answering to take my order. A lot of others were leaving as well without food. Online ordering is better, in that my order at least was placed. However, when I arrived and checked in, it took 15 minutes to come out, again because only 2 people were working that day. The young lady was super nice, apologized for the wait, but my food was cold. The next time I ordered online, I checked in at the front where the picnic tables are, and my food came out quickly. It was hot and fresh and still edible when I got home (I live 3 miles away). All of the new food places are going in at Belterra, and that's WAY too far to drive for those of us who live near downtown Drip, due to traffic. It's not worth it to me to drive a minimum of 20 minutes each way for fast food, or really any kind of food since it's going to be cold by the time I get home. The message here is order online and check in at the front if you want good food at this Sonic. I hope they can find more help soon. read more

I come here almost every day for an iced coffee, a large iced coffee is like $1 in the morning and it last me until noon! The coffee itself is good 9 out of 10 times(I get the french vanilla iced coffee - if you like sweet). Employee, Charles/Carlos, is there EVERY MORNING to greet me with a good attitude and a smile. Usually slow service but tolerable because it's busy and i get it but today was just not ok. I'm a server so i get it a rush you can get just get busy and forget what people asked you to do sometimes but i waited 30 minutes 10 minutes at 3 different machines because no one would answer any of them even though they were working so i called in an order and asked them for the drink and what number we were at 20 mins go by and still.... I absolutely love sonic and don't really complain much, but this place is awful! I went there to get a drink and that was it. First the girl that took our order was so rude it was ridiculous. She acted like we were wasting her time and it was an inconvenience that we wanted something to drink. Then when the person gave us our drinks we asked who took our order and she acted all stupid like she didn't know what we were talking about. She asked it there was anything else that we needed and we asked for extra mints and she then said that it would be $3 for a handful of mints. Which is outrageous because I always ask for a handful because they are amazing lol. I have never had any issues or been told that I have to pay for extras. Then to top it off our drinks were terrible and weren't the same as the other Sonics. All in all terrible sonic don't spend your money there! read more

I have been to Sonic all over the country and this one is great. I like the daily specials. The service is fast and friendly.

Sonic's happy hour is awesome! Half price drinks, and oh, so many choices. My fav is the Cherry Limeade with fresh limes. Sonic is the go-to place for an after school treat. read more
