I have a little secret to let you in on. The (real) reason is for their frozen Chef Pierre Pie Apple to put in our freezer!! Yep! So good! We became familiar with Chef Pierre many years ago when we managed a cafeteria. They were the best. We moved, list touch until years later while having an ice cream in a Braun's. Yep! Forever hooked! Since it's peach season, we went for one scoop of the peaches and cream ice cream ($3) and added a homemade cone for $1.50. The scoop was massive -- definitely enough for the two of us to split. Big chunks of juicy peaches in a smooth, creamy base made it a perfect summer treat. Bonus tip: if you bring your receipt from the sandwich shop next door, you get a free topping. We skipped it, but it's a nice little perk. Highly recommend for a sweet ending to your lunch!

It would be nice if there were set times posted when it would be. The employee was very apologetic and directed us where another coffee shop was, which also sold ice cream. Win win. The food is overpriced considering the meh quality, but clearly the owner knows tourist options are fairly limited due to the relative remoteness of the location in the area. If you are looking for a "fancy" restaurant in Broken Bow, this is probably the closest to one we saw during our weekend stay, but it falls far short when even compared to basic restaurants in the relatively close by big city of the DFW Metroplex just a few hours to the South West of the area. Stick with camping food. Whatever you bring to town to cook in your cabin / Air B&B will probably be better than what they have here.

Meh... I've definitely had better, though it wasn't the worst I've ever tasted. What really…read moredampened the experience was the price. I ordered a scoop of their espresso gelato, but the portion was so small it looked more like a child-sized sample than a proper scoop. Then, for an additional charge, I received a drizzle of flavorless chocolate sauce. When I asked for cookie crumbles, I was charged another $1.00 and given what amounted to about a quarter of an Oreo cookie. I'm not exaggerating. I'm a small person, so I know what a modest portion looks like--but this was tiny, even by my standards. It felt more appropriate for a 5-year-old than a paying customer. What frustrates me most is when "specialty" shops charge premium prices for products that don't feel special at all. The only thing that seemed exceptional here was the inflated cost. In all honesty, I would have enjoyed a Peanut Buster Parfait from Dairy Queen far more.
