I mainly come here for Ocean Water. It's a drink I really enjoy. The service is so slow even when the place is empty. I've had times where there is not enough syrup or something is wrong with the drink it's supposed to be a crazy shade of blue but when it's almost clear I would think if they are slow they should notice that something isn't right. As far as ambiance goes I've only been to the drive through and not really eaten anything other than the tater tots. read more

Very disappointed with the service! I ordered A Slush after 7:00 PM thinking it was half price just ordering. I found out it was only by app. Sonic wasn't busy so I tried to order on the app. Well, guess what...the app was down T there location. They still would not give me the slush for 1/2 off. On a Wednesday afternoon pulled into a car hop stall. While service wasn't immediate, it wasn't bad for car hop service. Prices were on the high side, estimated 20% higher than the cheapest fast food tiers. The strawberry milk shake was larger than comparable sizes at other fast foods, and its quality would be placed halfway between a McD and DQ shake. The expensive chicken sandwich was a joke though, with a chicken patty about the size and thickness of a Wendys burger.... a far cry from the large size of a KFC or Chick-fillet sandwich. The flavor was also a distant runnerup. Onion rings- very good, large rings, not too greasy and thin breading. Chicken nuggets were reportedly good size, good flavor. The requested honey mustard sauce was a packet of Ranch. To us they didn't look similar and the Ranch went into trash so we have no idea how either dressing tasted. That meal came to $27 for the two of us. Price just doesn't, unfortunately, get any support from the mediocre foods. read more

Tried Sonic for the first time today. The food was okay, burgers were large for a fast food place. Drive through was fast. Our issue was with the team member at the drive through window. She "greeted" us with, "Did you already order?" Okay. Maybe some people don't understand the process and go to the window first. After she found out order in the system--by the way, we were the only car in the drive through--gave her the debit card and she asks if we have another card that we can use. I asked her if it was declined (which it shouldn't have been) since she gave no explanation. She said, "no. It just won't work." Gave her a different card and she ran it, handed the receipt and card back without a word. Next thing I know, she's dangling a bag out the window while looking elsewhere. Gave me a single bag--we ordered three burgers and two sides--and turned away. No "thank you." No "Have a nice day." Nothing. I stopped by on a Saturday for lunch and half of my order was incorrect. I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager, Olivia. I explained the errors with my order, only expecting an offer to replace the parts that were incorrect. To my delight Olivia replaced the entire order! Just left Sonic with my replacement order and everything was correct. Leah was at the pickup window and she was delightful and very curtious. The 2 for $5 "deal" is no deal. The popcorn chicken bites are garbage. Hard deep fried dough. The prices are way higher than the deals you get on the McDonalds app. We did the order on the app, each of us had our own order. Pulled into bay 7 and you can only complete one order at a time so my partner had to wait until my food was delivered. The app is not very user friendly and it doesn't have everything on the app. For instance I would have wanted the Philly cheese steak sandwich but it is not on the app. The burgers are okay but nothing special. I have been to multiple Sonic locations and I am big on limeade,but was very disappointed when I realized they substitute limeade with lemon lime soda. I usually get the Strawberry Limeade Slush excuse me slushie's don't have carbonation. If I wanted a Strawberry lemon lime soda I would have ordered one. Totally disappointed Crown Point Location needs to getwith Michigan City Location to figure out what they are doing wrong. Down South I have been to plenty and Crown Point Indiana has very badly disappointed me. I went back 2 more times to make sure and they argue with you that it is right. Well can you check with someone, we kinda need to know. She immediately said no making me think she didn't check. Every response was cold, including when we asked for a cherry blast. We stopped by this sonic for the very first time today. The traffic flow was terrible. We wanted to eat on the patio and were instructed to pull in to a drive-in spot, order, pay, then move the car into a regular parking spot, walk over to the patio, and wait for someone to bring us food. This is because the patio kiosk was out of order.After waiting for several minutes... Actually much longer than I thought we should... I asked a passing employee about the food and she then brought it out to us. She was nice. The food was good that's why they got a 3 and not a 2. However, one of our burgers which was supposed to be a dill burger was missing Dills. That was weird! The lady that was sitting on the patio with her grandson said she's been waiting 10 minutes to get the right shake. She ended up leaving angry. Two more groups of people came to use the patio kiosk and left angry. The drive-thru was packed with very long wait times. Needless to say... I never get fast food, with the exception of Culver's. I downloaded the app and places my order. $37 for three of us. It asked if you wanted to leave a tip for the car hop. I left a couple bucks. Pulled up into one of the lanes and a sign said No staff available to bring food out and go through the drive through. So i got into line and waited. And waited. And waited. Then it was finally my turn! I told the guy on the speaker that i ordered through the app & they said there was no order. I said I'm looking at the receipt right now! Finally they found it. Had to wait in line at the pick up window too. Ok, checked the bag before we went home because I didn't trust them at this point. It was all there. Well, the burger was good. But the onion rings tasted like they were fried in donut oil. It was very sweet. A sweet onion ring. So gross. In the garbage. The buffalo popcorn chicken was so insanely salty and I don't think they were made of chicken! Like little balls of fried dough in buffalo sauce. We tossed those too. It was SO disappointing. And a waste of money and time. I wish i would have taken the $40 and went to Aldi and got stuff for dinner. Never again! And... I tipped to wait in line!! So this was the first and last I will ever eat at this or any other Sonic. I don't eat fast food often and this so called meal reminded me why. I got the chili dog with tots and couldn't finish because it was so disgusting...hot dog seemed like the cheapest you could buy and the tots left a coating on my tongue, ewww. I was starving so I ate most of it and now soooo regretting that as I sit here doubled over in pain. I tried sonic Crown point for the first time this weekend. First I couldn't get anyone to take my order. After finally ordering I tried to pay with credit card card wouldn't work in their machine so they took my card inside and wouldn't work there either. So I pulled out the envelope I just got from the bank and opened it in front of the sonic worker and paid them cash. Next thing I know several workers came back to my car and accused me of giving them a fake five dollar bill. Manager.told me to come back with real money. I stopped by with a few family members & between us we had 3 gift cards to use, 2 $10 cards & the other card had $1.74. When told our grand total amount for the order I subtracted off all 3 gift cards that were all handed to the employee at the window, then they came back saying we owed more of a balance in cash for the remaining balance after the gift cards, I knew it wasn't right, I knew they didn't use all 3 cards, they didn't use the $1.74 card, I kept telling them that's not right you didn't use all 3 cards when they then proceeded to argue with me saying we didn't give all 3 cards to them then I said YES we did, you just didn't swipe all 3 you only did the 2 $10 cards, again they argued with me insisting they swiped all 3 & then claiming again I must have still had the other card as there weren't anymore, I again explained we gave all 3 of them & they didn't swipe the 1, this continued on for a while until they made me pay the higher amount with cash. So I demanded the gift cards back (which they weren't giving back without my asking) I then found out the card# on the receipt doesn't match the card# on the card so how are you supposed to find anything out, but when I got the receipt I for sure had my proof only the 2 $10 cards were swiped the other 1 was NOT just as I stated to them & they wouldn't have it nor believe me! What happened to the customer is right anyway? In this case I was & then I had to go around the building again & walk up there & wait until I could get someone to acknowledge me & had to point out on the receipt the proof that in fact as I had said repeatedly only the 2 cards were swiped, the 3rd one was NOT (as I KEPT repeatedly telling them)! The girl uses the swipe machine on the outside of the building to start swiping the cards to "prove me wrong" swiped 1 that had $0 balance & gave me such a look with "attitude" like "I told you" but then she swipes the 1 they failed to swipe at the register & guess what....there was my $1.74 (boom in your face!!). AGAIN, I told them but they would NOT listen!! She then had to go inside to get my cash $ to refund me for the card they in FACT DID NOT SWIPE!! After all of my inconvenience I got nothing but "stinky attitude" not an offer for a fry or free drink nothing after all of that of my time wasted & them arguing with me. I too have been to other Sonic locations & was SO VERY excited about this 1 opening near me & couldn't wait, well to me it's been a HUGE disappointment. If they can't get a grown adult in there to handle business or teach the "teenyboppers" how to handle business better, I don't think this 1 will succeed too well if at all! Like another upset customer said Culver's is right across the street & is oh SO MUCH better & more polite. This location has been SO rude it's unbelievable!! And that's after a long wait too, although lately I've seen their line is no-where near as much as it was in the beginning of them opening new in this area & if they keep this up I think it continue to just get less & less along the way. Someone needs to do something! I was NOT done right at all & I do NOT appreciate it!! I haven't been back since then either, there's plenty of food places to go to & others you can go in & eat & then if you have an issue you're there to take care of it already. Would give zero if possible! I have eaten at Sonic before at other location, not the type of food I care to eat. On Friday May 8th my handicapped 7yr old ask to go so I said sure, absolutely no parking is available let alone a open handicap spot to sit at patio, had to park in auto parts store next door. After walking to patio I noticed a paper sign on menu "patio menu board is closed", then walked back to car and went through drive thru when I seen a car port open up and decided to use that service. After pushing "red service" button and waiting about two minutes for attendant to respond he said "I'll be right back" which turned into six minutes to finally come back to take my order, so I thought ...he then said "we are going to slow down taking orders so It will be 15 to 20 minutes before I can take your order". This was at 8:00 pm, this restaurant was built in a few months and obviously the franchisee owner has no knowledge of running his franchise, he needs to shut it down a retrain the young kids running it before he gets shut down by chasing customers away with this horrific service. As far as my daughter getting food...thank God there is Culver's across the street. read more
