I went through the drive thru at the Sonic Drive In in Camdenton at 7:03 p.m. on Friday 7 May 2021. I placed my order of a large tater tot, Route 44 unsweet tea with very light ice, and a double HAMBURGER (this will be important later) with mustard and pickles only. I go to the window and paid my $12 dollars (after getting home I realized it should have come out to about $9 but the person taking the order didn't bother putting it in a meal), and head home. Upon sitting down at home (16 minutes away) I eat my tater tots and open my burger to find it has cheese. I then proceed to leave home and go back to Sonic to have it replaced. Upon entering the drive through I tell the person taking the order the situation and how I wanted my hamburger (which was correct on my receipt) and she said to pull up to the window and they would fix it. As I wait my place in line, second car from the window, A cashier walks out and hands me my order and I hand her the incorrect order back. I check the order before leaving the line, and now it has transformed into a single hamburger with ketchup and pickles. After the car in front of me pulls off, I pull up to the window and tell the cashier (who gave me my original order, and order #2) it was wrong. Before I could explain what was wrong she walked away from me and went and talked to whom I presume is the manager (black polo shirt). She then walks back with a piece of paper and ask what I wanted. I explained the hamburger she handed me was a single patty and had ketchup so not even close. I then tell her, bun, meat, mustard, pickles, nothing else". She then walks away and I wait in at the window. 5 minutes later she comes back with my order and says, "I put lettuce, mustard, pickles..." I then cut her off and told her I didn't order lettuce and she proceeded to tell me I told here that. I then told her, "I don't eat lettuce so why would I order it?". She then walks away and talks to the same person in the black polo shirt. The person in the black polo shirt then comes to the window and what my order is. I tell her bun, patty, patty, mustard, pickles, bun. A double HAMBURGER. She then walks away and I wait another 5 minutes. She then comes back and says she personally made the hamburger and here is a coupon for a single cheeseburger (ironic isn't it since I don't eat cheese, hence the insistence on a HAMBURGER). I then drive off with not a sorry, we made a mistake, our bad, no acknowledgment whatsoever of the mistake or claim of responsibility. BY the time I drive the 16 minutes home for a double hamburger, an hour of my life has disappeared...I submitted this to the Sonic management and I am sure I will not receive a response that's why YELP (for a drive through you say?) or just a canned PR response of, "We try our best and promise if you give us another chance we will do better." Order food at the drive through here at the own peril of your time. read more
