I really enjoyed coming here when I come down to the lake! I love that they put Bible verses on the cups. The drive-through is not great option for me, since they don't have a full menu out there. So unless you know exactly what you want I wouldn't suggest it. I think they're fairly priced or perhaps my many years in New York have tainted my view of coffee shop prices. I really love that they offer so many sugar-free options and so many inclusions. Very rarely will you find a peanut butter or protein powder as an option at a coffee shop. I think they should add Oreos to the menu, but I'm impartial to an Oreo frappe I will say the baked goods cabinet looks unappealing. Not only does everything look hard but it also looks like it's been over baked. It's kind of sad looking tbh. I think the service is great and no one was rude or irritated to assist my grandmother who had never been to a coffee shop before. They do not allow emotional support animals and they don't have pup cups. The merch side is priced like a boutique, which is surprising since everything is clearly made in China. We stopped into The Funky Buffalo for a quick coffee and were blown away by how welcoming the staff was. They were getting ready to close, but the young ladies behind the counter were incredibly kind, patient, and still made fantastic drinks. They even wrote scripture on our cups, which was such a thoughtful touch I wish we had discovered this place sooner--my wife and I would've loved to spend more time in their cozy, inviting atmosphere. I was visiting my friend in Camdenton, and she took me to the Funky Buffalo for coffee. What a great place! The space is large and inviting, with plenty of separate seating areas so that folks can sit and chat without feeling crowded. There's even a play area for kids, and a selection of board games to choose from, so that families can spend time together. There's also outside seating of patio tables with umbrellas, so it's possible to enjoy the great outdoors regardless of the weather. The baristas are all friendly and efficient and guided me through the menu as a first timer. They have a wide selection of hot and cold drinks, as well as pastries, muffins, and breakfast sandwiches. I chose an apple scone to pair with my iced latte, and both were absolutely delicious! My friend and I spent over an hour at the Funky Buffalo, and it was a perfectly delightful time. Out visiting Osage Beach with husband and discovered that there was only one coffee shop (non-Starschmucks) in the area and it was closed for the season? Like I know LOTO is mostly visited during summer, but wouldn't the people who live here appreciate a warm cup of Joe mostly in the Winter? Just sayin'. Anywho, we came out to Camdenton, MO and found that they have two coffee shops. One of which was way too small to hang out and do work on a laptop and the other was this one. Had I paid attention to this one review that dogged this place for claiming their coffee tasted like peanut butter I wouldn't have came. Peanut scent usually suggests coffee beans have been over-roasted but hey it's the Roasterie brand from KC and they make great coffee, so nothing wrong here. We love checking out new local coffee shops when we are traveling, and we were excited to try this place out based on the fun name. We were very pleased with our iced lattes and breakfast burritos, and it was such a pleasant surprise to see that they had a children's area. My son really enjoyed playing with all of the toys and it was nice that he was able to play while we enjoyed our food and drinks. It was a bonus to see how strongly they support veterans as well. This location is so very cool. Reminds me of a ranger station rest stop, with great vibes outdoors. Decent indoor decor make for a nice sit-down, and on days where live music is present, pretty good atmosphere for any kind of business. So now, the not so good. Courteous staff is present, and they're more than enough to hold their own here, but it seems that product preparation and quality need some work, and this is compounded by prices not reflective of area or quality. When you're eclipsing a chain like SB and your local competitors price-wise, your product lines should be outstanding. Sadly that's not the case. I'd give a decent B- for the hot coffee itself, in its purest form, but it seems mixes and recipes are off and need tuning. Maybe growing pains in the business, not sure. Only had a few visits so maybe there will be improvement. The accompanying menu (esp sandwiches) needs a lot of work to be passible, especially for what they're charging. Just coming in for a cup of joe on a live music day? Add a star. Be wary of the rest of the menu for now. 4.7/10 stars read more

I don't know where to start. Have you ever had a coffee so bad that it made you angry? I've never ingested anything in my life that has given me such a reaction. To top it off, my drink was close to $9! Everyone is very friendly and polite, the atmosphere is very unique and laid back; but their drinks are disgustingly horrible. My kid ordered a cookie and didn't want it after 1 bite. I'm giving them a 2 for their congeniality. Their coffee drinks get a zero; I would give the drinks a negative zero if I could. So disappointed as their name is awesome and gave me something to look forward to. If anyone who works/cares about this place and would like to genuinely improve it, if you are willing to accept some constructive criticism, I would whole heartedly ask you to go ask another local coffee shop what you should do to improve your product. Also, I would recommend trying some YouTube recipes on the basics of ingredients, ratios, ice, and syrups. read more

Went in today with my big family and a young girl named Chloe was very polite and kind. She even named all the pastries off the top of her head, waited longer then usual which is understandable given it looked like they were understaffed. The only thing not appreciated in this experience was the blonde older manager who came in a hurry and my problem was with the way she seemed to be snapping at the staff (Chloe and another gentleman). I was not impressed with this place. The pastries looked burnt and the coffee took forever to come out. My mom and I got mochas, which are pretty difficult to get wrong, but neither of us finished our drink. The espresso obviously has a flavor hint that makes it taste like peanut butter. I like peanut butter, but in my coffee? Not a fan. The baristas weren't particularly friendly and the merch in the store made quite the statement (especially the "Let's Go, Brandon" shirt). I went through the drive thru on my lunch hour, so I can't speak of the atmosphere inside. When I pulled up to the menu I found an extremely limited and underwhelming menu to choose from. I ordered the Turkey Panini, which the board stated comes with kettle chips. I was then asked if I wanted the chips. Since I was paying for them, I did. They were just bagged "Block & Barrell" brand chips. I'm glad I got them because they turned out to be the best part of the meal. The sandwich is literally just two pieces of plain, boring turkey lunch meat and American cheese. Nothing else was offered or put on the sandwich. It is very thin and bland. Definitely the most bland and boring sandwich I have ever paid $8 for. I do not see myself returning. read more

Im in Missouri visiting family and decided to stop by this place. My boyfriend got a pour over coffee (Organic Peruvian) which is typical for him, however, what is not typical is the amount of coffee they gave! It was A LOT which is awesome!! Usually it's just one cup but he was able to fill his cup a couple of times which was such a good deal. I got a coconut milk latte which was really good! The main reason for this review was because I accidentally left my purse at the table I was sitting at and the place closed shortly after I left. I saw the purse was still sitting at the table when I returned to the store but everyone had already left. I figured I would have to make a trip from Macks Creek to get it in the morning. I ended up running into the lady who took my order at Walmart and she actually brought us back to the store and let us in so I could get my purse! That is amazing!! Although the Funky Buffalo is quant and homey, the environment does not make up for the poor quality and even worse service we received. The coffee shop was surprisingly slow for a Saturday morning (Dec. 14th). We were barely greeted by a young man wearing sweatpants and a sweatshirt behind the counter - he looked like he had just rolled out of bed. He was not helpful or polite. We had to repeat our order a couple times. It was clear that he was disinterested and did not care about getting it correct. That was evident in the product we received. Two very simple drinks that turned out to be the worst, most disappointing coffee I have ever had. One was made hot when it should have been iced. When asked to correct it, he seemed annoyed and took it away with no apology. The "remade" drink came back worse than the first. It was as if he poured the hot coffee over ice and served it. It was watery and lacked flavor. The other drink was also disappointing - lukewarm, watery, with minimal flavor. I had to add more honey and stir it myself to even taste it. The breakfast sandwich was sloppy and it had clearly been microwaved which was disappointing. If the coffee shop had been busy, the lack of service/quality would have been more understandable. However, it was clear that he, and the other staff, were untrained and simply did not care. A waste of time and money. read more
