Drinks in the bottom floor by check in
    Alma M.

Was here for about a week., check in was super simple and super easy. We checked in Tuesday night right at 9pm and Mason was super outgoing explained everything to us., some areas of entertainment and how to get around the area and the climate changes. ROOM- the room was perfect, the suite had a kitchen, bathtub , full vanity, Fridge, full stove and a reclining sofa. We came during the spring so some rain got in the way but the fireplace made it so much easier to manage. There is also central ac and heating., so there's so many ways to get cozy. Breakfast was amazing, in a big area , the menu is different daily and you have plenty of time to enjoy the breakfast and catch up on the news or just relax by the fireplace. Whatever it is you're into, they have a place for you. The outdoor basketball courts and pool area are a perfect addition for the summer getaways. Sonesta is truly a hidden gem and its location is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts like myself. Went for a bike ride and found myself connecting with other bike route along route 66, it was just so great to be able to get in and around the suite and enjoy what we love best... the outdoor. Dont get me started with the amazing view from the window because that was simply breathtaking. Make this place your next go to for your next stay.

Couch in our room that was clawed by cat.

We placed a 2 day reservation at Sonesta, Flagstaff. We had just stayed at the Scottsdale Mayo Sonesta, and found it very basic, but clean and welcoming. So we decided to try the Flagstaff Sonesta. Front desk employees were very nice and helpful. Our room was on the 2nd floor. We were first greeted by a very filthy staircase, and at top of landing we found more filth. Staying positive we opened our door and were not happy with what we found. A tiny couch at foot of bed facing a small TV. The side of the couch had been clawed by a cat, looked disgusting, and smelled of animals. Tub was damaged, and blinds were gross. It is an extended stay hotel, but even full timers don't deserve the condition of this hotel. We returned to front desk, and told them we were not going to stay. This place was not at all as it was described. I wish I had taken more photos. I hope they rehab it, as it is in a nice location. My advice if staying in Flagstaff...head downtown. Prices are the same and much closer to the action.

    Mattress manufactured Apr 2014.

I made a 1 night reservation for normal price. This was not a free night, promo code, or reward stay. Here's the full price guest experience: Location: Situated away from the noisy railroad tracks which almost all other Flagstaff hotels are near. Sonesta is across the street from a quiet golf course and pond. Nice. Mattress: Well beyond its best days and just celebrated a 9th birthday this month according to the tag. Remember where you were back in April 2014? Loveseat/Pull-Out Bed: Quite worn and not worth sitting on. Thin spongy seat cushion on top of the hard folded sleeper unit is uncomfortable. Linens and bathroom seemed perfectly clean. Otherwise a little crud and wear here and there. $5 parking fee/night because why? Would I stay again? Unlikely, but a new mattress and tossing out the loveseat would go a long way to a better guest experience. Let's at least cue the manager script about being thankful for online feedback.

In AZ on family vacation and son ended up having emergency surgery for a ruptured appendix. Stayed here one night and wouldn't ever again. Reviewed Sonesta ES online, looked nice and pictures looked great! Completely different story upon arrival. My husband made our reservation but was at the hospital with our post surgical son this night while I was caring for our other son. Could not check in without my husband's ID. Explained medical emergency, still demanded his ID. Fine. 30 minutes later, arrived at our suite's door. The door was open. I entered, said hello, no answer. I searched the suite and noted it was empty. Pretty unsettling. 11 year old son rightfully freaked out at this point. It was getting late but he really wanted to swim and the pool was open until 9 PM. Took him there at 8:30. Poorly lit, dirty. There were 2 "poolside" chairs that had fabric bottoms as seat support, both ripped so badly they should have been thrown away. Son dipped one foot in the pool and said he was no longer interested. Too cold and said he didn't feel safe. Back to the room we went. I needed a shower so I jumped in only to discover the soap dispenser was empty. Filthy dishwasher. Broken freezer handle. Completely broken off microwave handle. Filthy toaster. The furniture was tattered and torn. Carpet was disgusting, stained and smelled. The list goes on and on. The only reason the place gets a 1 star is because the continental breakfast was ok at best. Please see pictures. I would never stay here again. I wish the guy that I checked out with would have asked how our stay was...but he didn't. Not surprised. I'm pretty sure he couldn't have cared less. Terrible $170 spent.

Had a great two night stay! The room was spacious, clean, and quiet (no train or road noise). It was nice having the kitchenette available. It was stocked with dish ware, silverware, and pots/pans. All the employees I interacted with were professional. The free breakfast was decent (sausage, scrambled eggs, French toast, cereals, fruit). I would avoid the rooms facing the basketball court and pool, I imagine they would be a bit noisy. Free WiFi, you don't need to sign up for anything. Overall great hotel for the price! I would definitely stay here again!

Not impressed!! If you're looking for comfort, friendly/professional staff or a clean room, please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. If you're looking for a longer stay, check out the photo of what you can expect to get with an extended stay with Sonesta.

not the most inviting scene, the smell was worse.

I book the room in the morning and usually arrive late. I booked this room Oct 24, 2025 thru booking.com. I reserved a king room. I arrived around 11 p.m. to check in. The clerk stated that they didn't have any king rooms available, they shampooed the carperts and they are not dry, I have a double queen. I said I booked a king room, if you do not have it cancel my room and I'll find another place to stay. To my surprise she found a king room and stated that she would have to inconvience another guest (not my problem). She snatched up my card and charged it $128. I got to the room on the 3rd floor in the back no elevator. The windows and door was facing the wall in the breese way. there was a ramp going down to get into the room (the floor was lower to the door seal. I turned on the lights and this was horrible, a slight smell of mold, the ceiling had big stains and cracks from leaking, the entire paint job in the room was horrible (looks like someone tried to stretch a pint of paint for the entire room). This room was actually a suite with a kitchen. The refirgerator looks like it was sitting outside in the elements and put in the room complety filtly inside and outside. The cabinets looked like they were picked out of a dumpster, the stove had a red light on it showing the electrice burners were on, the oven was gross. The floors were not swepted or mopped. The walls had stains all over them drip markes to the floor. The double couch was gross, I moved it from the wass and there was enough dirt and dust to grow weeds. There were white shavings (powder) from sanding the walls all over the edges of the walls, The tile job on the floor lookes like a 6 year old did it, huge gaps all around the base boards. Every light swith was dirty and reused with different paint and stains, a light over the sink was out. You could not close the bathroom door from inside the bath room without standing in the tub, it was only about 6 to 8 inches between the door and toilet. The light above the mirror was a plug in type flurencent light bar that some stuffed into a box and covered it up. The tub was black and old, you could see where the shower mat had been removed, the caulking around the tub and tiile was horrible and over used, this included the baseboards around the toilet and next to the door by the tub. There was dust all over the head board that banged if you touched it, the same all over the one night stand. The drapes had water stains all over them from where it leaks inside. I took photos. When I checked out I asked for the manager and got the excuse that the manager is out and will not be in tell next week. I beleive that this is a family member that owns this hotel. There was a guy there that she was talking to also I believe a family member. Ramada this place is horrible and for you to allow them to use your name is embarrassing.

We decided to complete our spontaneous journey by booking a hotel once we arrived in Flagstaff. We decided to book at Hotel Elev8 as it offered great amenities at an acceptable price point. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff. Check in was a breeze. When we went to our room, we entered through a side entrance as recommended by the front desk staff. From the main hallway- I was a bit surprised by an abundance of maid carts and extension cords for the vacuums strung out all over the floor. I saw this as a major liability of a guest were to trip over a cord. The hotel does not have an elevator, which could pose an issue for some guests. This did not bother us though. Our room was clean, and updated. I was very impressed by how nice of a room it was considering the low price we paid. I loved that there was a 24 hour gym, sauna, large hot tub and pool on the property. All in all, I feel that this hotel was well worth it for the price. We would definitely book another room here in the future.

Housekeeping does absolutely nothing different because there was a pet in the room. Policies like this are just a blatant rip off. He seems mentally unbalanced and is not a good face for the business. I made a reservation online and arrived with a small camper in tow. Blue immediately assured me that it wouldn't be possible for me to park anywhere on the premises, though I'd already paid to stay the night. When I asked "surely you aren't that busy, the parking lot has many open spaces", he raised his voice to yell at me that as a policy they do not accept oversized vehicles and I needed to find somewhere else to stay. I am a young woman traveling alone and grown men yelling at me is scary, so I left the premises to find another hotel to stay at. I called the agency I booked the hotel through to cancel the reservation. Blue reassured them on the phone that he can't do a refund because one guest can only take up 2 parking spaces. My car and camper can detach and take up exactly 2 spaces. This detail would have been helpful to hear initially instead of being yelled at and shooed away so I could resolve the situation. Because I booked another hotel room at Blue's insistence, and then he refused me a refund. I returned to the hotel to clarify with Blue that I would have liked to know the bit about being able to take up 2 parking spots because I could have fixed the problem and stayed there instead of paying for 2 hotels, but he started raising his voice at me, telling me the blatant lie that he "was trying to tell me that, but I wouldn't listen", and continued to scream at me to get off his property. As long as this man is working here, I'd recommend staying far away from this business. I've added some photos of the space in the parking lot for reference.

The staff when I arrived was nice and welcoming. Lee was working and she's absolutely wonderful. This being said- I switched rooms three times within the first 10 minutes. The second rooms beds were made but the bedding was unusually wrinkled, I pulled both back and there was body fluids and tons of hair all over the sheets. The third room that we actually stayed in under the repeated phrase of "it's just one night and we don't have to shower", the linens were clean but it was gross. Phone had dirt all over it and was sticky, there was crumbs all over the floor (didn't realize it until I took my socks off and walked to the bathroom and then we put shoes on anytime we walked on the floors afterwards), there is dirt build up everywhere and in every nook and cranny of the room, it looks like at one point they painted or resealed bathtubs and they are all peeling, there is stuff wiped all over the walls, the elevator/stairs/everywhere that's a common area is gross. The people diagonal under us were outside drinking and being loud until at least 2am. Never again. I already cancelled our two upcoming reservations we had there.

We paid for a 6 night stay. The next room they moved us to was much better. The microwave was clean and the fridge worked. Turned on the "fan" and the room cooled to near freezing. We stayed our 6 nights. I believe this place has a long term stay area were there are sketchy people that I see holding signs on street corners. So when we had to travel to Flagstaff again for some appointments at the end of Feb this year, we figured things would be same. We had booked through Priceline a queen room in a smoking room as we vape. When we checked in, the woman was very nice and check in was fine. Our room however was not good. It was 2 double beds. One of the lights didn't work. The lights that did work had two different light shades. There was something very sticky dropped on the floor that hot water couldn't even get off the floor. One of the lamp shades was broken. The TV got maybe 10 tv channels. There was a dirty crusty washcloth hanging on the shower curtain bar. The beds were pretty hard. The biggest downfall of the room was how hot the room was. When we checked in, it was really warm, so we pushed the ancient (falling off the wall) thermostat all the way to cool and turned on the fan. Instead of cooling the room, it got to over 90 degrees. We woke up at 4 am dying in the heat. We had to open the door and let the cold air in to cool off the room. We were not able to sleep after.
