Blue, the front desk associate, has some of the worst communication skills I've seen in customer service. He is extremely hostile and quick to raise his voice to yell at customers. He seems mentally unbalanced and is not a good face for the business. I made a reservation online and arrived with a small camper in tow. Blue immediately assured me that it wouldn't be possible for me to park anywhere on the premises, though I'd already paid to stay the night. When I asked "surely you aren't that busy, the parking lot has many open spaces", he raised his voice to yell at me that as a policy they do not accept oversized vehicles and I needed to find somewhere else to stay. I am a young woman traveling alone and grown men yelling at me is scary, so I left the premises to find another hotel to stay at. I called the agency I booked the hotel through to cancel the reservation. Blue reassured them on the phone that he can't do a refund because one guest can only take up 2 parking spaces. My car and camper can detach and take up exactly 2 spaces. This detail would have been helpful to hear initially instead of being yelled at and shooed away so I could resolve the situation. Because I booked another hotel room at Blue's insistence, and then he refused me a refund. I returned to the hotel to clarify with Blue that I would have liked to know the bit about being able to take up 2 parking spots because I could have fixed the problem and stayed there instead of paying for 2 hotels, but he started raising his voice at me, telling me the blatant lie that he "was trying to tell me that, but I wouldn't listen", and continued to scream at me to get off his property. I really wanted to like this property. The staff is amazing and so sweet. I called before coming and the man was the nicest and friendly on the phone. The staff when I arrived was nice and welcoming. Lee was working and she's absolutely wonderful. This being said- I switched rooms three times within the first 10 minutes. First room was cleanish but smelled of smoke and although it's listed as smoke free- the room next to it was cracked a foot and there was a man smoking in his doorway. The second rooms beds were made but the bedding was unusually wrinkled, I pulled both back and there was body fluids and tons of hair all over the sheets. The third room that we actually stayed in under the repeated phrase of "it's just one night and we don't have to shower", the linens were clean but it was gross. Phone had dirt all over it and was sticky, there was crumbs all over the floor (didn't realize it until I took my socks off and walked to the bathroom and then we put shoes on anytime we walked on the floors afterwards), there is dirt build up everywhere and in every nook and cranny of the room, it looks like at one point they painted or resealed bathtubs and they are all peeling, there is stuff wiped all over the walls, the elevator/stairs/everywhere that's a common area is gross. The people diagonal under us were outside drinking and being loud until at least 2am. Never again. I already cancelled our two upcoming reservations we had there. read more

Room was poorly cleaned, mold around tub, toilet didn't work unless you hold the handle down. LOTS of homeless people hanging around, including near my door and car in the parking lot. It's not Motel 6" fault, but there is a VERY large homeless population in this area, so be ready to be approached and panhandled if you try to take a walk or step out to walk the dog. It's pretty bad. If you do end up staying here, ask for a room away from the North end of the building. There is a really busy street about 20 feet from the North end and it was noisy as hell. read more

WE DID NOT FEEL SAFE HERE! We stayed here June 2022. The bottom floor appears to be a half way house with permanent residents and there are homeless everywhere. I was asked for money multiple times while walking around with my 6 year old daughter. We had cops knocking on our door at 10:30PM because some lady said we stole her bag. (The officer removed her to another location because she was intoxicated according to him) And when we went to leave I discovered my car's windshield bashed in. We stayed on site long enough to get a police report but just wanted to leave. I was so concerned with my kids safety I barely slept 30 minutes. The manager called my dad (who paid for the room) and offered him an $8 refund. What a joke. This was the last Motel 6 for me ever. read more

The price can't be beat. I stayed at this Motel 6 for a couple of weeks. Pets are allowed with no additional charge. Not much in the way for amenities, due to the ongoing pandemic. Certain staff members outshine others. Danielle in housekeeping is my new favorite"Hazel" professional and attentive with a pleasant personality. Jeff in maintenance also very professional whom has a considerate and kind disposition. In stark contrast, management was not very accommodating. When I mistakenly left my key in the room, I saw the manager and asked if they could assist me. The reply was surprisingly rude and slightly on the snarky side, as they stated that "We dont let guests into their rooms". Where as the day before the same thing happened, and the employee who assisted me made no mention of this and was very accommodating. Firstly, I am working as a freelance editorial journalist currently writing an opp-ed piece on "gangland stalking" which is intended for a major national newspaper affiliated with the Associated Press. With that being said, here is the downside. Speaking from personal experience, you would be wise to stay off of the fourth floor. Get a RF detector (which is a necessary requirement when traveling, especially on a budget) or failing that, use an app on your phone for free. Then, once you get to your room, unplug all appliances, turn off all lights and electrical switches and wait five minutes. Then pretend to paint the room with invisible paint. Keeping a sharp eye for pinholes, simply move the RF detector or your smartphone (if utilizing a detection app) slowly and carefully along the walls and ceiling just as you would if you were painting for real. If you ever find a questionable electronic device; wherever you are, contact local law enforcement immediately. Good advice for every hotel/motel or Air B&B you choose to stay in. Please note the photos I have posted for this Motel 6. One photo shows the moulding around the bath tub as it should be. The other shows that the moulding which looks to have been tampered with and an alteration has occurred. The moulding has obviously been cut creating a void where an electronic device could possibly be placed. In this case however, no electronic devices were found. Amended review. New information has come to light during my editorial assignment. Note the pictures I've posted here. In two of the pictures you see a hole about the size of a sunflower seed. Both images are of the same anomaly, but one shot is from the relative eyeshot I had when first noticing it. The other close up. I placed a q tip into the hole and it swallowed the whole thing. Then notice the photos taken of the ceiling. Here you have a common stucco ceiling. When applying this type of ceiling usually for maximum coverage you need to have at least two coats. This ceiling was done poorly which accounts for some of the black spots. But look closer. The best way to differentiate between a hole or just poor workmanship are by two main things. One, look for perfectly symmetrical holes. Think about the surface of the Moon; many of the craters up there are symmetrical because of the impact of an asteroid which are in most part perfectly symmetrical or nearly so. Same thing here. A perfectly or near perfectly symmetrical hole may suggest a place for an electronic device which can be small as a pea. Or use as peepholes for people who could possibly be "squatting" in the crawlspace between floors. (btw, a crawlspace is a necessity in construction so the building can have adequate air-flow throughout the structure. Sometimes people will "nest up there" as there is usually just barely enough room for a least a couple of people. Let me make a crude but apt analogy-if this was 1939 Nazi occupied Poland and if these meth addicts were Jews (sorry Jews) I doubt very much that the Nazi's could have found them. Eat your heart out Anne Frank. Keep in mind, a large majority of hotels/motels have that type of (stucco) ceiling. So, in my experience this Motel 6 is fully outfitted for use by those participating in "gangland stalking". In most cases I have come across, management/owner is usually well aware and in many cases a participant themselves or at least assisting those that are. My advice to thy weary travelers-seek lodging elsewhere. I'm staying to continue my assignment. God bless. read more

At check in we were charged twice for the room and when we asked for a refund on one of the cards, the worker got extremely hostile and rude with us. Another worker came over and helped the initial guy out which was nice but still not how we were expecting to be treated. We've stayed at many motel 6s and we know to not expect anything fancy, but a front desk worker who isn't flustered and aggressive seems like a valid expectation. read more

Motel 6 is dog-friendly with no pet fee, so for $55 total it's hard to complain. This one is facing Hwy. 40 right off the Butler Ave. exit in Flagstaff, situated with a whole row of other hotels. We stayed in room 223, which unfortunately is right by the stairs so you are constantly hearing people BANG BANG BANG down the concrete and metal stairs. The rooms are remodeled so the photos here on Yelp aren't a good representation. They put in faux wood flooring, a new sink counter with a raised bowl-type sink, modern towel holders and a bright orange accent wall. The room comes with a queen bed, a small desk, a small square table, two chairs and a big flat screen TV with cable. You get two bars of soap, a few towels/washcloths, an ice bucket with plastic cups and nothing else. Don't forget shampoo! The bathroom and the overall cleanliness was the the only drawback. The tub was peeling, the toilet had some permanent brown stains in it and we found a few hairs here and there (like on the top of the toilet) that weren't ours. Notes: Dog friendly. No wifi ($2.99 extra). No breakfast. Rooms are on outdoor corridors but there is an elevator in addition to stairs. They have vending machines with snacks, drinks and an ice machine. read more

Bedbugs, and a 3 am police raid on the room next door. The hotel staff has taken no responsibility for the infested room, and refused to come and inspect the infestation while I was there. After I left the GM called and said IF, and only if, her pest control people confirmed the infestation, I would be refunded my room charge. " I haven't heard back, and at this point don't expect to. There were several rooms full of partiers, who were loud, belligerent and high on drugs, which prompted the 3 am arrest. This is the worst motel I have ever stayed at. Let's start with the room. The security latch on the door was broken. It only had a small screw holding the latch. The floor was dirty. I spilled a could of drops of water on the floor and I used a wash towel to dry it up. The wash towel was dirty just from wiping a small area of the floor. There were hairs in the shower, where it had not been wiped or washed. The shower head was hanging loosely from the wall. I found a pill and a bottle cap on the floor, where they don't vacumn the floors. The bed was not made when I returned to the room that afternoon. This was not disclosed by the front desk. The public areas around the motel were dirty and old. A lot of homeless people in the area. Railings don't he outside were wobbly and felt unsafe to lean on. The elevator did not have an inspection tag and was all dirty and falling apart. The walls were cracked and peeling. I would not AT ALL RECOMMEND this place to anyone. Go somewhere else. Stayed here on Thursday (6-7-18) and had a very great experience with the the ease of check in. Also the Staff member in the office that night was very friendly. Then on my return trip back to Mesa, Az. I sat] Ed again at this Motel 6 as I stated before the staff were very friendly. flagstaff/butler First,the person checking us in was short tempered and more than rude! when we got to the room ( there's snow on the ground on March 8,22) and we complained that our room was cold and he said was give the heater time. It NEVER warmed up enough. Not one thicker blanket anywhere! We slept in our clothes. You could see daylight through the door wind was entering through! The large window had cold sir leaking. About 8 pm the television went off so I called the office and he was rude snd said nobody has Tv , we are trying to find out what's wrong. He hung up on me! It did not come on the rest of the night! This is a deal if you're a weary traveler looking to avoid sleeping in your car, but not much else. $100 is probably double what the room/hotel is worth but it was the only place with vacancy. The staff seriously makes up for the state of the building. They are extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. As for the room itself, it was clean and efficient. This is obviously a very dated building that needs some TLC, especially since a mile up the road is a MUCH nicer Motel 6 for the same price. The elevator looked kinda worrisome, but once it started moving it was obviously safe and a smooth ride. However, it's clean, has free coffee, and is located right at the junction. This place is a wreck, honestly, the cement is crumbling, the stairs reminds me of the steep stairs from the Navy, there is an elevator, but you may still enter steps due to the messed up layout of the building. The rooms are tiny. However, the staff is top notch, and they will accommodate you as much as possible, they know the hotel is ready to collapse, so they make up for it with FANTASTIC customer service. The rooms are spotless, and the water is always hot. I don't recommend or discourage, but the Corporation of Motel 6 needs to dump some money onto this place. read more

The rooms were not very clean, the bedclothes had stains, etc on them.. and the 'security clasp' on my room door was hanging off... NO shampoo, etc in the bathroom, in my friends room, the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor... The light switches in my room seemed to need magic and moving them a special way to make them work - Thoroughly underwhelmed. If you want a cheap flop house or somewhere to sleep off a flagon of ale, this *might* be the place - me? I'd rather pay a little more if need be and stay somewhere clean and civilized. After a long road-trip of going through small towns where horror stories take place, one can truly appreciate it when staying over in a surprisingly-clean, relatively-friendly, spacious motel like this Motel 6. The bathroom was super clean, the beds were quite comfortable, and there was even fresh make-it-yourself waffles for breakfast. Maybe not the best place for a long-term stay, but perfect for a few nights without bugs, with wifi, without too much noise and with comfortable linen. I knew I was going to regret my decision when I pulled in and witnessed several patrons smoking on the balcony. We were greeted fair enough in a 1970s style "office" that looked more like a prison intake facility. When we entered the room we were overwhelmed by the pungent smell of ammonia (from I guess dog pee). The noise from the surrounding area made it impossible to get a wink of rest. We planned a last minute trip for Labor Day and had to book here because they allowed pets. I don't even know where to start on how HORRIBLE and dirty and disgusting this place is. 1st off our non smoking room reeked of stale smoke. Then the bedding I had to strip off and call the office for clean sheets. I was told I would need to come get them. The blankets had black hairs on them the comforter had stains and the sheets had old blood stains and some other bodily fluids as well. The shower had black hairs in it. Our room has a funky connecting door to the next room. In the middle of the night someone checked into that room and they were so loud plus the funky door allows light to come into our room. We had some one try to gain entry to our room in the middle of the night. This place is Ghetto and you should really consider having a hand gun with you. If I could give negative stars I sure would. A mid-priced motel certainly not worth what you'll pay for. Service was friendly, however that was about where the positive aspects of our stay ended. While waiting outside the night window to check-in we were pestered by an inebriated native who relentlessly begged for a dollar. Staff acted as if he was not there and only after we verbally communicated our discomfort did they reluctantly ask him to leave the property. The condition of the room itself was poor. Dirt, stains and general uncleanilness were commonplace. It made the issue of little in-room amenitites and outdated furniture seem insiginficant. Forutnate for us we were only there for one night but we were very disappointed to find such an unkept room for a $50-range motel. There should be much better options available in Flagstaff--we recommend to look elsewhere. read more

Motel bathtubs with gray walls scare me. This location is definitely a bit rougher than the one on Butler. It had been a while since I'd stayed in Flagstaff and I mixed up the two locations, my bad. This location seems older and less maintained...as in probably ready for a re-model, big time. The tub was seriously old with gray walls, not necessarily dirty, but definitely worn and the building in general felt uncomfortable. Bed a bit too soft for my taste, too. I'll stay at Motel 6 again in Flagstaff, but will stick to the Butler location which we had really enjoyed last time. read more

Doug, the night clerk worked hard to help us get into a room at 4 in the morning and save money. Clean rooms that are remodelled. Both my dogs welcome. Not happy with the sharp gravel beds instead of soft ground cover for dogs. Staff very friendly. read more

Toilet didn't flush properly, also the bath tub drain was clogged (probably because the peeling paint) wich means that at the end of your 5 mins shower you will have the water up to your ankles. Is good that the rooms have laminated floor and look clean. read more

I do not understand the other reviews that was given for this motel. I understand that the outside part has the usual kind of dingy look. I am not giving a rating on that but I am giving a rating on our room and our experience in this place. When we first walked in, there was a slight problem with the bill and they actually looked for a solution to see what they can do to help us and not just say a bunch of sorries. Our room is actually very nice. We have never experienced a motel 6 with wood floors and clean warm place. We were settling down when we got a call from downstairs and they were asking us how the room was and if we are settled in and if we need anything else. That was so nice of them. I mean a 4 star hotel would never do that unless you are VIP. Anyway, they made sure that we have everything we need , and thats basically a microwave and a fridge. I am sure that this will be a good experience for you guys and if there is anything that needed to be fixed asap , don't rate them before you actually tell them what had happened and how fast they will fix it. I will give it two stars for the price ($44 including tax) and for the friendly service. But it is a very rough hotel to sleep at because of two factors: the noise from both the freeway and train tracks nearby (like less then 1,000 feet away) and the scuzzy and obnoxious clientele. Leaving the fan on all night helps with the sound but it's still overwhelming. We had to move rooms due to obnoxious people who couldn't control their dog or keep it on a leash and we didn't want to have to worry about our own dog the whole time there. Then there was someone strung out on drugs laying in the stairway moaning and groaning. There was also the matter of the bed - it was like laying on a stack of cardboard. I accidentally turned into the other local Motel 6 (GPS mistake) and wished I'd have reservations there as it was very quiet and serene by comparison. Never staying here again. read more

I was on the 4th floor in 425 and was awoken by the AC turning off for long periods THEN when my neighbors would turn on the water a really loud grinding noise would sound for a really long time. I would give zero stars, but there was one redeeming quality about this totally outdated, crappy, nasty place: There were no bugs. Yup, that's it. We stayed in room 215. The first thing we noticed was that a previous lodger had stolen both of the light bulbs from the wall fixtures next to the bed. Great. The front desk clerk brought some up and installed them, she was very nice. The fixture by the door? Well, that one had no bulbs either. You have to pay $2.99 for wi-fi access. The only personal hygiene products they provide are two, tiny, motel-sized bars of soap. Not even one stinking packet of shampoo. Sheesh! Bathroom tub had been PAINTED and giant pieces were flaking off. (WTFO?) Toilet was 1920's size-TINY. And OMG! THE SINK FIXTURE! They were apparently so hell-bent on reducing their water bill that they had installed an insert into the faucet which sprayed 7 needle-fine jets of water. Every time I turned on the water, the pressure of the tiny jets was so intense that water ricocheted off the sink and got the entire surrounding area wet. It was IMPOSSIBLE, even when gingerly eased into the very lowest setting. The carpet was so filthy, stained and gross that we opted to shower at our next destination so we could use the thin, dingy, grey towels for rugs around the bed. Some kind of weird, neon green paint was all over one of the chairs. The tv was all snow and we couldn't even see it, and although I spoke with the very nice front desk clerk, there was no way to get it swapped out for one that worked. She offered to give us another room, but we were just too tired out to deal with all of that after traveling all day. Outside walkways were FILTHY and disgusting. Go elsewhere. I would give it two stars, except that they charge for WiFi, and apparently (we learned later) the other location did not. It makes no sense!
