I cannot say enough positive things about Dr Singh and his team. Our Gracie (cat) came to us with a history of trauma and we were worried about the upheaval of vet visits. No need. Although she doesn't enjoy the car ride to get there, once we reach the office she curls up in her crate and relaxes ... and stays calm during her exam. Two visits in and this is definitely a keeper. Dr. Singh is the best Veterinarian!! My family is so blessed to have found him. He is kind and loving, he has a calm peaceful energy about him and my dogs feel that calmness and you can tell he genuinely cares. Not just about your pet, but about you. When I first met him I had to bring in my 14yr old dachshund who was very sick at the time. Dr. Singh got down on the floor and sat and loved on my dog until my dog went over on his own and sat in his lap. I had never seen anything like it! Seeing the amount of love he was giving my sweet Max brought tears to my eyes. I knew Max trusted him because Max doesn't go to any stranger. I had gotten taken advantage of by another Veteran and Dr. Singh was very honest and advised me on what I truly needed to do to help my dog. He saved me money but most importantly he saved my dogs life. Now my little puppy goes to him as well. Today Ryder was neutered and I had taken my dogs previously to the spay and neuter clinic. I would not recommend coming here... this place is not what it used to be. You'd think you would save money but you pay just as much as you would elsewhere, for much worse service. It is overpriced and rushed. You get 60 seconds in the lobby to explain the reason for your visit and are very limited with the questions or concerns you can express. While the vet techs are always nice, because of the dubious and inconsistent pricing, I am weary to trust the quality of services you do not vet to observe. We adopted our sweet puppy from Shelter Hope in Thousand Oaks, and they have an arrangement with this Vet. Their shots and spay will be included in the fee we paid at Shelter Hope. From the moment we stepped inside this location I knew that this wasn't a place I would've picked on my own. It's dusty and kind of generally just unkept. We have visited this vet 4 times. 1 time for her Wellness twice for her shots and one time for her spay which included more shots. We were always greeted promptly and put in a room where we always waited 20 minutes for the doctor except for the time for her spay. While Dr Singh did come in and sit on the floor with Poppy he always asked questions each time that he had asked the two weeks before. He was also random in some of the things he said. Each time in the room he stayed less then 3 minutes with us not explaining or getting to know us or our pup. Yesterday she was spayed. We arrived at the vet at 830am we were ushered into a room and then after a while Susan came in and took our pup and gave us a paper to sign and said sign it and leave it at the desk. She walks off with my pup. The consent form says that someone explained what was going to happen and how the anesthesia was going work BUT let's be clear no one explained anything to me. We pick our pup up at 330 and she's handed to me with it being clear they she had peed and had sat in it, she was wet. I told this to the receptionist and she said yes she must have gone. There was no cone on my pup when I asked and I was told the doctor doesn't recommend them. That's fine BUT how about you tell me that before I get there so then that way I can get a cone or bring her onesie so she doesn't lick her stitches. I asked about the stitches the girl tells me they need to be removed in about 10 days and I can come back there or go to any vet. I will be finding another vet happily. Every time we left this vet I was very disappointed in the general experience, and I can't express enough how happy I am that we can find her a vet that will do more of a thorough job in caring for Poppy. We love our puppy and we want her to have the best care, that kind of care doesn't seem like it can come from Somis Veterinary Hospital. read more

I have stepped away from Yelp reviews for a bit. But my experience here has been so atrocious, I must warn everyone to AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This entire clinic from the receptionist to the nurses and especially the vet is unprofessional and rude. I drove over 100 miles (roundtrip) to see this vet since the rescue group has a partnership with this place and wow, was it run down and filthy. I went inside to pick up my dog and was "greeted" by disgusted stares. Singh told me to wait outside due to covid yet he was NOT WEARING A MASK. How is this acceptable?? The last i checked, mask wearing is still mandatory, especially a MEDICAL clinic. I've waited over an hour outside in the sun, in addition to my 1+hour drive, so i asked to use the restroom and the receptionist rolled her eyes at me and ignored me. The nurse gave some bullshit excuse of the restroom being used for surgery?? Excuse me, what? When i finally got my dog back, Singh just handed me a bag of stuff, my dog, and started to walk away. I had to chase after him to ask him what's wrong, what kind of care she needs, etc. There's a reason why shelters and rescues partner with this clinic: Cheap. And it shows. Dr. Singh is a doctor of bad intent. He prescribed my dog medication and we went to him for help with her allergies since she was a puppy. He knows our situation well and he would not give my dog the treatment she needed. Went back to this vet for years for help and he intended "she had a bad heart" without running any tests, and by just looking at her. I finally decided to take my dog to the vet in Simi Valley, and she was immediately better and finally got the treatment she needed. We've had nothing but great experiences with Dr. Singh and his staff. He's caring and has always addressed the issues that our dog presented with. The staff is amazing and the Dr. always checks with us to make sure that we can afford the treatments and course of medicine that he's advising. He's as fair as possible given that he's running a business and at the end of the day, the goal is to make enough to cover your costs and keep the place up and running. It's not decorated like a Beverly Hills dog spa and it's clear that they are running things within a budget, but that's never affected our experience nor our beloved dog's comfort (as far as we can tell). Where do I start? We brought a dog we had fostered in for an examination, and for a clearer idea of what a large lesion on the dog's back might be. This dog was a newly nursing Mom. The dog was taken in without us being present, and brought back about 5 minutes later, with us being told that the lesion on her back was a "burn". A week or two later, lesions started sprouting on all of the other pups. Concerned, we contacted the rescue organization, Wagmor, who again organized an appointment with this same vet. Again the dogs were all taken in without us being in the room with the vet, for a grand total of 5 minutes maybe. They were brought back out to us, and we were told the puppies had puppy strangles. What is puppy strangles we thought...couldn't be too serious as he prescribed nothing. We then looked it up, and we were shocked to learn that this was a life threatening condition that required immediate intervention. However, it was also clear to us that the puppies were not sharing any of the symptoms of this condition. It also looked nothing like it. For a week we asked for a second opinion as we weren't sold on Dr Singh's diagnosis. We took the pups into another vet, and it was immediately clear to this other vet that they had ringworm. And a severe case at that. The test proved positive two days later. We are left with a severe case of ringworm, which could have been dealt with 5 weeks ago, if Dr Singh did his job and tested the lesion on the mother with a skin scrape. The puppies are suffering needlessly, and our house has become contaminated with a horrendously contagious disease, putting our other dog at risk, as well as ourselves and our daughter. If you do choose to take your pet here, be incredibly wary. In my opinion he shouldn't practicing. read more

I took our 2yr old bordie collie here. Had a few visits and got his vaccines. He got neutered and he died 2 days later. He was a healthy dog according to the dr. What was weird is that the dr said a month before that he was afraid that our dog would need a lot of anesthesia because he was a very active dog and afraid it would be too much for him. After examining my dog Dr Singh said he was confident in his diagnosis and prescribed medication for his severe diarrhea. My dog was better the next day and his fee was very reasonable. I don't like putting someone's business down because I know everyone works hard and my one experience could just be a fluke...but I feel like I need to share this because it was a little unsettling. I've tried a few times to write this with details, but it's just too long. Long story short, Dr. Singh tried to tell me my dog's teeth cleaning was going to cost $300, when their sign out front states that $200 is the maximum cost for teeth cleaning with anesthesia and extractions. He haggled with me and said he'd do it for $200, but he would be "cutting corners". Forget the price at this point...he was going to cut corners during a medical procedure where he had my dog under anesthesia? To stick to the price they had posted? No thank you. I told him I didn't trust him after that and he tried to back pedal and haggle again. I picked up my dog and left. I felt like I was buying a used car, not talking to a licensed veterinarian. He said a lot more that was weird and unsettling, but the point I'm trying to make is...maybe be careful here guys! There are closer Vets to my home. (One literally steps away from my home, within walking distance) But to get a Vet who truly cares about my dog, doesn't gouge & has fair pricing... I'm happy to make the drive. There's a farm stand across the street that I enjoy going to, so it gives me another reason to make the drive. Dr Singh is the most caring Vet I have ever met. I was given his info from a local groomer who has been in the area for many years & it's one of the best referrals I have gotten in awhile. Now, I'm passing this referral onto whoever reads this. Once you experience not getting ripped off by a Vet, you will love & appreciate it. He's busy & sometimes takes a week to get an appt. When my Son had an emergency with his dog & she unfortunately had to be put down. Dr Singh & his staff were loving & caring. They got her in quickly to be seen too. My Son opted to have the ashes & they arrived in a beautiful cedar chest with the dogs name on a metal plate. If you REALLY love your fur babies, this is the perfect Vet for you. So I will not be going back. Dr Singh offered numerous times to take $$ off the bill, we still got charged full price which is fine but odd. We left thinking we paid the full amount only to find out we had a remaining balance so it was sketchy from the beginning in my opinion. Dr Singh basically said my dog should get put down because there was no hope and if he got operated on he may die because of the loss of blood of the still unknown thing that happened to my dog, So we went to another vet who was more positive about his situation and we fought for his life and he made it through with out breaking the bank. Dr. Singh has great bedside manner with my dog, he always comes into the room and sits on the ground to wait for Bixby to come to him. I called on a Saturday after they were closed because I was worried about my pet(best friend) and started to leave a message but stopped and hung up the phone. Sunday evening I received a call from one of the receptionist. She said I sounded distraught so she went through her caller ID and called me back to check on my dog. I was shocked that someone actually cared enough to call back. She scheduled Tink (my pet) in the next morning. When I arrived they put us in a room right away, and within 10 minutes the Dr. came in and examined Tink. He explained what was going on with her and what is to come. Tink is 15 yrs old so I had her blood tested, it came back that she is healthy. After all that I was expecting a huge bill, and again I was shocked at the final bill. Somis Veterinary is a honest vet! RARE!! I am so thankful for their help around my elderly dog and there information on treatments. They have treated her for seizures its been affordable and they have put me at ease through the entire process. I drive an hour just to see them and its been worth it. I'm giving this place 3 stars because I really don't know how I feel yet. My puppy was adopted and through the shelter we adopted her from they took her to this hospital for her last set of puppy shots and to get spayed. She's okay and her energy is the exact same as before which is good! But I'm just so worried about her incision because it does not look right. From what I can see it is not closed properly. I'm scared it'll get infected. Not to mention she came back without a cone??? We had to go and buy one to prevent her from licking her incision. Shouldn't those be provided for you???
