Alright, so I normally don't use Yelp (Or anything but foursquare, actually) but with searching around on Google this seemed to pop up first when it comes to leaving feedback for Julia- So, I decided to go on in and give her what she deserves (And, a little insight for the rest)! I'm extremely picky, I mean- I had envisioned this man in my mind that was completely unrealistic and I admit I didn't know much about dating or men. (Prior relationship was extremely long term) I went in there and demanded that Julia find me a hopeless romantic, one who is ready to get on one knee with a rose in his mouth and be forever mine. Oh, and he had to be an intelligent professional who could actually afford a life traveling the world with me. Well, she gave me way more than that. I won't go into FULL details but I must say my 3 months with Julia and the dates I went on were so amazingly eye-opening and fulfilling (Of course, my last one was the best...)- I lost all sense of loneliness! And then I met my now boyfriend. (He's probably going to laugh at me for writing all of this :) ) Our first date was like a scene from a romantic comedy- we both showed up in awe at the location that was chosen for us to meet (Thanks Dee!), and then we just looked at each other and couldn't stop smiling at the fact that we both just took a huge leap and were doing something we never thought we would do, but we were both having a great time. As we made fun of ourselves, I realized on THAT exact first date that this was the man I was hoping to be mine. From that day forward we have not spent a day apart. I am so happy, this literally was the best experience of my life. It happened like this. I was first introduced to my fiance during a young peoples' service at church. My sister-in-law works for Something More and offered her services to match me up! Dont waste your money!! I got into "Something More" with high hopes, but I must say I was very disappointed very fast. They do tell you those who pay $6,000 (VIP) are the ones they work for; while the ones paying $450 arent guaranteed a match and are basically the dates for the VIP clients; but they dont match people in the lower rate at all. Wouldnt it be good for business matching more people?? Coordinating more dates (between those in the lower rate) and having more possibilities of successful stories?? Well, they dont believe in that!! They just believe in collecting the $450 from people who are willing to do anything to find love, and leaving them waiting for eternity because they dont care for you and what you are looking for. I trusted them when they said they had a big list of clients to match me with, but now Im sure that is not true. In response to Julia's (owner) comment; I am sure that many of your clients are truly ready to find love- emotionally, intellectually and physically; but in my experience the matchmaking was off!! There was no thought in the dates; they just put together what they had at the moment. If the dates arent matched on both parties requirements, there is no way they can work out. I do think this could be a great business if they really believed in matching people for love and not for money. read more

I joined Something More based on a recommendation from a friend and truly enjoyed the experience. I think it was helpful to get dating tips, even though you may not want to hear them at times, but hey, sometimes we all need an outside opinion to take that extra push to "reinvent" ourselves and to become more attractive to the opposite sex! It was also great to have people like Julia and Deanna available to ask questions like, what should I wear, where should we go, what should we talk about, especially for anyone a little out of practice. I also enjoyed the fact that I had a professional screening dates for me, instead of trolling a million dating sites and sending emails all day long. Wow! Where do I even begin? At first I was super hesitant to try matchmaking, but these three beautiful women went above and beyond to make this experience incomparable to anything else and makes internet dating a complete waste of time! Why do the searching yourself when Julia, Deanna and Krissy will do it for you? I met with Julia the first time and I did like her, she seemed to be experienced and good at her business asking me pertinent questions about what I was looking for. After being somewhat pressured to sign up then and there I paid the high fee. After the first meeting I never had contact with her again and was set up on the dates by Deanna. All contact and matches went through her at this point. I went on several dates and they were all total misfits, men I would never be attracted to or even think of dating having met socially. What we discussed up front and what I was looking for in a mate and the caliber of men I was describing never appeared even after several more discussions. I have to assume that the higher fees a client pays the higher caliber of the dating pool which is totally unfair to any client paying for the service as it is very pricey at any level.
