Was pretty darned impressed with this place tonight! I called in an order to pick up and the lady who answered was extremely pleasant. She made sure we didn't want it delivered, which I didn't know they did! What impressed me even more was that I ordered 20 minutes before they closed and she still offered the delivery. Anyone from Clovis knows the work mentality around here is extremely lacking so you can imagine my surprise! Order was hot and ready by the time they stated and it tasted awesome! I stopped going there. I was spending $ every week for a month. Each order was incomplete, no sauce, wrong drink, Wrong order. Etc.... last time, the catfish ordered was still frozen (not even fried)..guess i didn't check .i won't be going back and would caution anyone. ..wish there was a way to sue for my money back read more

The food was good but I ordered a chef's salad to be delivered but what I got was a taco salad but with chicken. Disappointed. I still got charged 7.99 The chef's price and got the 6.99 taco salad.Im always afraid to call and complain and demand that I get what I ordered because you never know what people might do to your food because you made mad. read more

Great teriyaki bowls. This is the only place in town that I've found steamed vegetables, and they are excellent. (Other places have steamed veggies coated in so much butter and oil that they aren't healthy any more - not so with this place!) read more

We are never disappointed! We like to eat here at least once a week, sometimes more. The food is great, cooked throughly, seasoned well, the staff is friendly and polite. The delivery service is prompt, and their always very nice. They make ordering by delivery a pleasurable experience. You can order, pay for your food and leave a tip all through their website. That way you can concentrate on serving up the food and eating, not with dealing with money at the door. They take the time to keep you updated on your delivery by text message. Love love the Teriyaki sauce! We really like when you order shrimp or chicken or whatever ingredient, you get a substantial amount. Not just a few here and there mixed in. Ate here last night. Not only was the food absolutely phenomenal the service was beyond anything I've ever experienced. I wasn't sure what to expect since you order at a counter but the employee working the front counter took exceptional care of me and all of the tables, offering numerous refills and making sure everything was good. I don't think I've ever experienced that level of service, even from a restaurant that has a wait staff. read more

Something Different is just that-a place to go that you can order a bit of everything, and it all tastes good. One of my favorites to order is the low carb chicken teriyaki bowl, it comes with cabbage instead of rice. A great place for lunch, and the tea is very good. read more

I was visiting my daughter in the military and I wanted Thai City again but she wanted this so we went. The fried zucchini was ok the batter is not seasoned and could be better with salt. The dipping sauce needs improvement. Ranch is fine but Sriracha ranch would be kicking they had none! They had another sauce with hot sauce and chipotle it wasn't good not balanced like sriracha. The rice bowls were ok, really bland and noone asked if we wanted white or brown rice so I got stuck with white when I had wanted brown. The potato cheese and bacon bites are really great though. The waitress was really nice. SO service was good everyone had a smile so the experience was good. I just wanted spice and FLAVA. The rices were good I would recommend to others to try it. We have ordered from them multiple times over the last year and half. 95% of the time the food is great and they deliver promptly but every now and again they just screw it all up. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. If you haven't tried their food before or you are looking for "Something Different" from the usual fast food fare give them a try. Late night after a day of driving from CO found Something Different Grill. Folks working there were so nice. Totally accommodated the kiddos modification request. Food was fresh and good. Adults got the super bowl with brown rice (sauce on side) and it was all delicious. Kiddos got huge baked potato and spaghetti/meat sauce. They even finished the broccoli. I do not go to Something Different Grill very often to begin with because I dont like waiting in my car for a half hour, waiting that long defeats the purpose of fast food. When I do go the food quality is sparatic at best. Well today I had the flu and my Wife went to to something different for me. She brought home perhaps the salties food I have ever tasted. The chicken in the chicken parm and the garlic bread were inedible. Very dissapointing even for them. I will NEVER go back there. read more

I've given this place a few tries. Tried the beef and shrimp teriyaki bowl today. It's the most unbelievably average food I've ever eaten. It's not terrible, but it's not good either. It's basically a bowl of rice and meat with steamed veggies and zero seasoning and they just dump teriyaki sauce on it at the end. I doubt it's meant to resemble authentic Asian cuisine because it doesn't even come close. I could do better in my own kitchen. read more

I really enjoy the food here - it's simple but tasty and priced very well. Service and quality is best when eating in but the delivery or pickup options are really nice to have. putting it as simple as possible it sucks... .. i keep giving this restruant. the benefit they dont deserve at all food old and cold. stayed at window 10 minutes while i waited . watching them look toward window. then go about their business . didnt bother coming to see if i had been waited on. im not trying to get a free meal. my food was sitting on counter getting cold . ive left several reviews on here. and tgey still havent given me a reason to give a good one.im done with this place take my phone off ur computer. read more

Visited today for my first time. While waiting for my meal a basket of cheese sticks was delivered to my table. A pleasant surprise receiving a complimentary gift. Even better surprise was discovering that they would be the best I've ever had. Cheese was amazing, the breading unique, and the marinara sauce delicious. The oil that they were fried in was obviously top quality. The meal was equally prepared with top quality ingredients, combined masterfully, in generous proportions. Horrible customer service!!! I ordered delivery food that smelled like cigarette smoke and I had to throw it all away. I was also charged a gratuity fee of $4.00 that I was never once advised of when placing my order. The "managers" I spoke with did absolutely nothing. read more

Something different is really just something disappointing. It was getting late and we figured ( spouse and myself) why not try it. Well... I'll tell you why not. We ordered the "Jacked Up Spud", The steak sandwich and the mozzarella sticks, which most certainly are NOT the best in town, to go. First let's start with the sticks. It was a weird dough they used and it was not hot. It w as luke warm and the dough was seemingly raw. We managed to eat one and tried their marinara sauce which can only be described as tangy. Next the spud: I figured how hard could it be to mess something so easy up. It's a baked potato, toppings and then then melt cheese on it. To start the cheese wasn't melty, the chicken chunks were alright, but the broccoli was cold. The potato was almost warm and the most tasteless bland thing I've tasted since cardboard. I gave the rest to my dog, who only ate the chicken toppings, and that dog is a garbage disposal that will eat anything. Not even my brave canine would eat the potato. Next up is the sandwich. Greasy doesn't even begin to describe it. It shined like a new star in the night sky. The meat was definitely not good quality and the "cheese' was more like a yellow play dough. Neither of us ( and we have fairly low standards when it comes to take out) could stomach finishing it. As I type if, I can feel my stomach lurching. Tonight will be the kind you're glad you didn't skimp on toilet paper. That's just the food by the by. The decor definitely needed a redo. I'm sure they tried and had a good idea , but the execution was definitely lacking. Anyhow, I'd avoid it if you can help it. For the price and lack of quality, you're better off eating ramen or cereal. Which is what we plan to do. I'm actually let down. After 14 hours on the road we just wanted something quick and vaugley healthier than McD's or Pizza. TLDR: Thumbs down. All the thumbs pointing down. read more
