We have been here several times for the wings and chicken pot pie specials which are good and reasonable priced, My wife and I dined there last night with a group of 7 others and decided to try some sandwiches from the menu. Both sandwiches were horrible. The Ruben was served on rye bread that was very hard around the edge crust. There was very little meat, probably the worst Ruben I have ever tasted. The other sandwich was a chicken sandwich called the rooster. It had a very small chicken breast, 2/3 the size of the bun. Go to Wendy's for a much larger sandwich for half the price. In addition the service was extremely slow, even for drinks and refills. We would only go back perhaps for their pot pie. read more

I had a take-out dinner tonight. The hamburger was delicious. The potato pancake was a hard flat substance; it was not good. The baked French onion soup was bad. Instead of croutons, chunks of hamburger bun was in the soup. The soup was too thick and didn't taste good. Also, the soup was given to me in a styrofoam bowl and it was obvious that the cheese had been melted on top in a microwave oven. I threw most of it away. Bad. Styrofoam put in a microwave oven release carcinogens. Very bad. I won't be going to this restaurant again. read more

Recently, my friend and I dined at Someplace Else Restaurant in Elkhorn. I frequent the restaurant with co-workers and usually had good food, however, we were very disappointed. Portion sizes have been reduced; I received a small portion of fries and the chicken sandwich was mostly bread. The booth was not sanitized, staff including the cook were not wearing masts and no one was adhering to social distancing. We were shocked and very uncomfortable that no one was complying with the CDC preventative measures for Corvid 19. The owners sense of entitlement and disregard for others is detrimental for everyone! Some people may say that their individual rights are being violated, but where are my rights to live a long and healthy life! If you don't want lo get sick and affect your loved ones with Covid19, feel free to exercise your constitutional right and instead, go someplace else! read more

What is going on with your food? We used to love going here. Ordered onion soup that looked like gravy, fish isn't as good as it use to be. The wraps are not very good anymore- huge chunks of chicken! I've been here a few times. Food is pretty good, nothing special...the side salads that you get with the meal are always very fresh. Beer is served in a frosty mug, which is cool. Service at the bar is not very personable, and can sometimes be pretty slow. read more

My coworkers and I visited the area for business. We ordered the redneck tater tots for an appetizer. Then I had a chicken pot pie. Now I need to pause here to reflect on how amazing the crust is. It is perfectly flaky on the outside and fluffy on the inside, almost giving the consistency of a homemade biscuit. And the filling is so good too. Fortunately, I wasn't shorted on any chicken in my pie like some others have mentioned. Then we shared the bread pudding for desert. It was great too. Yeah, it's nothing that's going to be featured in Bon Appetite anytime soon (but they did borrow a recipe from it). And yeah, it's not winning any sort of bartending awards. But it's got a winning charm that'll bring you back. I think the first post summed up the pros and cons pretty well. What I'd add is that the food comes out kind of slowly, but that's just what I like on a lazy Friday night. Good friends, good food and good times. One of my favorite Friday Fish Fry's in the entire Walworth Lakes region. Potato pancakes are fantastic, the fried fish is crispy, and the broiled fish has a delicious garlic crust. While the menu is big and pretty typical, what sets them apart is all of their homemade goodies. Soups, salad dressings, dessert - all homemade and really good. I sat down and as soon as my feet went under the table I was stepping on chips. The chicken noodle soup was incredibly salty. I ordered the salmon with veggies instead of potato. The veggies were doused with in oil...I would skip the encrusted topping, as it was a dry, loosely layered crust on top after the salmon was warmed up. The only thing I ate was the salmon, and the crackers that came with the salty soup. ;( For $18-$20, I was hoping for a lot more. read more

Would be no stars but I'll give one for good service! Went on a Thursday eve around 630pm. Wasn't too busy. I ordered an alcoholic drink called strawberry fire cracker. It was gross. Then we decided nothing on the menu grabbed our attention so we decided on a couple apps. We got the nachos and the pretzels w beer cheese dip. The pretzels were the only thing good and hot ! The beer cheese was not hot , maybe Luke warm at best. And the nachos were blah. No nacho cheese. Meat not seasoned , no jalapeños. No flavor. Blah ! I wish we would've went someplace else !!!! Oh and almost forgot the salsa that was served w the nachos had mold on it :(. This place came recommended from a friend , n lets just say I will check Yelp next time instead !!! read more

Had a great chicken salad sandwich with stale chips. When I mentioned it to my waitress she totally ignored me (no offer of substitute) . The bill came and still no mention, so I asked and she took a $1 off and told me they were made today! (I guess that means they couldn't have been stale) I eat there often, but it will be awhile before I go back, kind of ruined the experience. read more

Dinner on 8/29/2014. I had the baked cod and my husband had the top sirloin filet. Entrees come with soup or salad, choice of potato and bread. We both had the salad and it was a generously side salad of romaine lettuce, not iceberg as I would have expected. There was a little tomato plus matchstick cut carrots and cucumber. I liked that without asking, dressing was served on the side. We both had the baked potato and it was average size and not dry in the least. It came with sour cream and butter, of course, though some places you have to ask for the sour cream. The filet was petite 8 oz but cooked just the way he ordered it. My cod was huge! I could only eat half. Without tip it was $36, which seemed fair for the amount of food. The waitstaff was very attentive. Only downside is the giant Jenga game in the bar area. When it topple over it was loud and put a halt to our conversation. read more

Local who will stop many times for food and drink. Friday fish is always great. Lunch at any time has never been disappointing. The block game makes some noise but looks fun for a family with bird kids old enough to play. Bartenders are always accommodating to my Metropolitan cocktail. Chicken-pot pie is great comfort food. Yes they don't get the glasses to smell right. I know it is the required disinfectant. Ask that the glass be rinsed out before they bring it to you. read more

Went in on Friday for the fish fry and I enjoyed it but there were a few things I didn't enjoy. The fish was fresh and very hot when we got it. Very fresh non fishy Taste. Cons of the meal.. The fish was a bit greasy (it is fried though) and the potatoe pancakes are a bit too heavy. Overall for a quick bite I enjoyed it. For dessert we got the chocolate cake and honestly I was disappointed. It was dry.. Flavorless and old tasting. Our server was very nice and attentive. read more

Stopped here on our way to the haunted hayride/barn in Walworth county! We were looking for a place to eat first and stumbled upon this restaurant. This place was one of the best restaurants that I have ever eaten in! The food was all homemade! Everything was so good! We had the pretzel and cheese dip appetizer, soup, warm bread, soup, Friday Fish Fry, Chicken Pot Pie and desserts! It was all so amazing! I plan on taking a road trip back there again! They took the children's orders first so one would assume the kids food would come out first, not the case! Got our appetizer salads then after 5 min the people who ordered soup were served with no spoon! Took quite awhile to get main course (cold fries) and one of the children got no food. Took ages to get his order, they were very flustered. Sat down at 5:30 and not served dinner until 6:45, this is not a fine dining establishment where you get course by course, this is a bar/diner. Got a free dessert for the wait and cold fries and the kids food mix up but way too frustrated at this point for it to be ok. read more

Went here for fish fry a while back. The place was busy, and the order took a long time--not the issue. The issue was that when the order finally arrived, it wasn't correct. My husband sent my order back, as I typically don't want to rock the boat. What finally did come was cold soggy fried fish like it had been sitting for a while. The manager? (I guess that was what she was) gave us major attitude about asking for more (made no sense, it was an all you can eat fish fry). I couldn't believe how rude she was! A complete disappointment. We will not return ever. Unfortunate, since we used to really like this place. There are better places in Elkhorn where the management actually cares about guests.
