We had an absolutely terrible experience with Kindred after a fall that my grandfather had. My…read moregrandparents had used Kindred back in Dothan during a similar situation and had a great experience. That is why they requested them for the most recent incident. Note that we used their services for rehabilitation after being released from a local rehab center. I originally called them to set things up after being told they would actually contact me. That was red flag number one. But after speaking to someone a few days later stating to be the case worker and setting up an evaluation, I got a call a few hours later from someone else who said they were the case worker and needed to come by for an evaluation. I explained the situation and the person said that there was a mix up, but keep the original appointment and that original person can let them know what the situation is. Well, that person came and did the eval and set up what we thought would be the actual therapy session a few days later. But it turned out to be the 2nd caller from previously to do an evaluation. An entire week went by without anyone coming to do any type of therapy and non of the paperwork we were told would be done to get some necessary supplies was never filed. We immediately called the rehab center that helped facilitate everything and got set up with another company that came the very next day. Do not use Kindred in Birmingham. Absolutely terrible and disorganized company.

Craig Mitchell scammed my grandfather out of a lot of his VA benefit money. He took him to a…read morecrooked doctor and they lied on the application for aid and attendance benefits. He had my 91 year old grandfather sign a document that he said was to help him get paid from the VA and it was actually a direct deposit form for the benefits to be directly deposited into his personal account. The VA did an audit and guess what? My grandfather is having to pay back everything that Mr. Mitchell took. Thousands of dollars.. Mr. Mitchell refuses to acknowledge his wrongdoings or repay the monies that even his accountant, who sent a letter to my grandfather saying his checks were being deposited into Mitchell's account, said were being wrongly taken.
