When making this appointment over three weeks ago I was told that they had a cancellation and if I didn't take this appointment I would have to wait until October. I arrived for my appointment at 10:15 a.m. which is fairly standard for most medical practices, and I was told that the CRNP (Dr. Allyson Gilstrap was on leave so I wasn't even going to see a doctor ) could not see me since I was not there at 10:00 a.m. To be fair, it was suggested, not mandated, to be there a half an hour early to fill out paperwork which would have taken maybe 10 minutes. But I was not made aware that if I was not there by 10:00 a.m. on the dot I would not be seen. I should have been told that. They asked me if I could come back at 3:00 p. m. That would not work for me and I said no and walked out. What is the purpose of making an appointment and arriving early just to be turned away for not being there a half an hour early!! Who does that?? I've never heard of such a thing!! And I should have been able to fill the paperwork out online like most medical practices offer now, and not this out-of-date system. I hope that the person/persons running this place rethink their policies because this clearly is not the way to treat new, potential and existing patients. Turning away a new patient for not being a half an hour early for their appointment is very suspect to say the least. I have since spoken to several people that I know in the medical profession and told them of my experience with this practice and they outright told me this is absolutely wrong.

They were only 10 minutes late with my appointment (which I think is great for a doctors office) and the doctor herself was GREAT. She was so friendly and helpful, as were all of the nurses. Though I was a new patient, she made me feel really comfortable and I felt like I had known her for a while. If you're looking for a good family doctor I would check this place out.

I can't say enough about Dr. (Colleen) Donohue and her staff. Maybe it was because I had filled out…read moretheir paperwork beforehand (almost 16 pages, but worth it) and waited less than 5 minutes in their waiting room. I was called back by a very cheery (maybe her name was Shaniqua, although I could be wrong, and I'm sorry if I am!) called me back to the exam room. I wasn't in that room for less than 5 minutes (very unheard of in a doctors office!) before I heard a knock on the door. A young, bright, cheerful, happy woman walked into the room and introduced herself as Colleen Donohue, NOT Dr. Donohue. I immediately felt at ease. As for my exam, it's not often where one feels they're actually being listened to when speaking to a doctor. However, Colleen made me feel as if I knew her and she knew me for years and completely understood me and my needs! She was/is now my favorite doctor! Honestly, I wish I had something else to go back to her for...she's THAT GOOD!!

In addition, Be cautious of this clinic's business practices. I discovered today ( over a week after my initial visit ) that They require upfront payment for visits, regardless of insurance coverage. I paid $150 plus a non-refundable $5.99 processing fee. I was assured that with a referral, I'd get a refund, minus the processing fee. I was told that day if I could get an approval from my doctor that I did not have to pay the $150 but since it was a Sunday and he was not the one that was on call, I had to wait until the following day to get the approval Sent through properly. So I'm not sure how we went from. "We only need a referral to avoid the $150 fee and the 5.99 processing charge" to now we need to be paid by the insurance company before we can refund you. That is two totally different scenarios. I also have never had to pay a processing charge at a doctor's office ever before. I confirmed with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) that my referral was approved for emergency visits for one year, and the visit was indeed covered. Despite having full coverage through BCBS and a referral from my primary care doctor for an emergency visit during a recent snowstorm, the clinic's refund process was inconsistent. Initially, I was told I'd receive a refund check the next day, but when I followed up, they claimed it would take at least two weeks because they needed to await the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from BCBS. BCBS confirmed that the clinic should have access to real-time data showing my coverage and the referral, debunking the clinic's claim. The clinic's information and requirements changed each time I called, suggesting a possible scheme to retain both insurance and patient payments. I wouldn't have left a negative review if the information hadn't been so misleading and inconsistent. This experience makes me long for a time when patient care came first, especially for those with comprehensive insurance. If there were any doubts about insurance coverage, they should have been upfront about it, rather than changing their story after collecting the payment.

After she left we were assigned Dr Gilstrap, then took about 6 months before I actually met her. With getting older you tend to need a little more attention, and with our new doctor you get the feeling she really is concerned with you overall health. Really after going here for 4 years the only complaint I really have is the re-authorization for 1 of my maintenance prescription. Will still continue to use this location for 2 reasons, it's close and the care we receive. .

I was a patient there for over 10 years. I'm sharing a message I composed for the office manager…read moreKristin regarding my care with this practice. The basics: I was told a PA was submitted on my behalf in Dec 2025. From experience, I know it takes them longer than most to do anything. They never got back to me so I reached out to them only to find out their PA person didn't do what he told me he was going to do, but they wouldn't just tell me he didn't do it, they skirted around the very direct question of did he submit it or did he not submit it. Since I'm here posting this, you already know he didn't. I would *truly* go elsewhere if you have any major health issues. There's just too much incompetence to risk it. I suffered heart failure for MONTHS before they caught it. Run. Kristin: It was a mistake asking Steve to call me. I recorded the phone call. Steve tells several versions of what happened on the call he made to me back in December because that's what happens when you are lying. When someone makes an irrefutable point, the lie has no choice but to evolve. Tell Steve if he's going to try and gaslight someone, he better make sure there isn't a recording. If you are a medical provider and you tell a patient you are doing something and you don't, then you shouldn't be a medical provider any longer. I'm going to research everything I can on the laws and ethics of what he's done and I'm going to file a complaint. You shouldn't be responsible for people's lives if you don't have the character or capability to hold such a responsibility. Follow-through is not optional in medical care. If you tell a patient you are doing something and you don't do it, there have to be reprecusions or you will continue to do it. I got the impression from some of the staff that Steve lacked the character and capability to do his job. I see why now. He's a liability. Had you just admitted that he NEVER submitted the RDI score like he told me he was going to do back in December, then I could have used the information and moved on. You decided to dance around my very pointed question and made it a whole lot worse. Lastly, if there are "documents" associated with the PA submission, then they are part of the file. Concealing or withholding them means it's an incomplete file that you are trying to pass off as complete. If I ask for that information and you don't provide it, you are withholding my file from me. No one's asking for or expecting a piece of paper with scribbled notes and doodles, supporting documentation is an entirely different animal and it's disengenuous to imply otherwise.
