So not work for this company. They give you an orientation without explaining many things about the…read morerole. If you're in AL, they can either hire you to work at UAB, or residential. UAB in the ER, is only $13 an hour. They don't tell you in orientation that those clients are sometimes blind, and mentally unstable, most of them will need sedation while you're watching them. One yelled at me because I would not close the room door, very violent, eventually 6 cops came, and he was sedated. Another patient for up and his bottom was exposed, came out of the bathroom with snot coming out of his nose. He had done cocaine, and was yellling at another patient who was screaming in pain to "Shut the F up". You sit there for 4 hours with no break sometimes. If there are not clients you sit in a cold break room, for 12 hours. The nurses are rude and have no soul. They are hi polar actually, one moment they are ok, the next they have no humanity. They all laugh amongst each other like children, in the ER, because that is how they cope. Horrific place. This company sends you emails with shift available for residency and none are available when you call. They don't answer your emails, they simply ignore them. They are rude if you ask questions. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY. You pay $75 for a background check. Unreal. Even their badges are made cheaply. Beware.

No shift changes occurred smoothly. Caregivers were late or did not show up at all. They were sent to the wrong location twice. Trying to reach someone for help was difficult. Most of the caregivers were poorly trained and incompetent. They stayed on the phone and streamed shows on their phones without using ear buds. We finally put out an assortment of ear buds and ear plugs for them and had to insist that they use them. Unless my husband or I asked the caregivers for something, they just sat. They didn't clear bowls, spoons or trash from the bedside table that my husband used. Only one of them showed any professionalism or compassion. After 4 days, I was finally able to hire a different service, whose caregivers were trained, professional, prompt and compassionate. Avoid Right at Home if you need caregivers!
