They refer you to the BEST specialists. ~ Dr. Dab has referred us to the best ENT Dr. Dylan Chan @ UCSF when our son suffered severe sleep apnea, where he stopped breathing. Now he's cured, no more snoring, sleeps a little too well & grew into a giant teenager. Thank you Dr. Dab for convincing me to go through with the surgery, as I was freaking out, and for your compassion & genuine observation(s). Our son might be able to find a wife later on in life LOL! My daughters also appreciate your prompt responses being 3000 miles away in college on the East Coast. One of them wants to become a doctor :) ~ Dr. Pepitone and her networking has referred us to the best Pediatric Ortho surgeon Dr. Mohammad Diab @ UCSF when he suffered a serious spinal infection aka Osteomyelitis. After IV antibiotics at the hospital, he's on the road to recovery; no surgery required! Thank you Dr. Pepitone for catching all the signs and expediting our visit with Dr. Diab, as we know how busy he is. To be put on his priority list and waste no more time, it was all Dr. Pepitone's connections! ~ Dr. Johnson another OG doctor in the house for always being concerned about our kids' well-being. I hope he never retires, but that's kinda selfish. ~ Dr. Meier, ummm no comment to her suggestion of meditation for our son's pain management. ~ Front office staff, the ladies are always so helpful, especially dealing with all the parents and the bugaboo moms. Juana is amazing, and her name should be "Reina", as she is the Queen of this place, and that's what I named my firstborn. ~ Last but not least, we miss you Dr. Crosby, hope you're enjoying retirement! I'd be on the beach with a Mai Tai in hand, cheers! 'Til we meet again ~ stay healthy cuz it's very expensive to be sick & see you on Yelp (SYOY)! P.S. Their doctors work out of both locations SF & Marin, extremely convenient.

She exudes a wonderful calming effect on even the most hypochondriac / overly anxious / severely sleep-deprived new parents (read: me). She is always very gentle (even her voice is soothing) and I appreciate how quickly she follows up on my many emails and phone calls. We had a very rough delivery and first couple days in the hospital and I appreciated how she visited multiple times and then called to check up on my physical and emotional state after I got home. Dr Sanda came highly recommended by my (also much loved) OB-GYN Dr LaFollette. My OB actually gave me 3 referrals for Marin local pediatricians (all small practices run primarily by women doctors) but she correctly guessed I would really like Magnolia Pediatrics. I did informational phone interviews with all 3 offices and narrowed it down to 2 offices to scheduled in-person meetings. Dr Sanda was the first doctor my husband and I met in person and we didn't need to look any further. She was very thorough in answering all our questions about their evidence-based holistic medical approach, vaccines, development, sleep, circumcision, diet etc If you prefer small, intimate practices focused on evidence-based medicine like myself-- Magnolia Pediatrics is definitely the place for you. It is run by 3 women doctors and while I have not met the other two Dr Christie and Dr Kerl, I have heard nothing but great things about them from my doctors, Yelp and close friends who followed Dr Kerl from Prima Medical. Due to that, I feel comfortable seeing any of the other partners if for some reason Dr Sanda is not available. The reception and nursing staff are also all sweet, lovely and efficient -- especially when it comes to giving shots to our crying baby. The office has two separate waiting rooms for healthy and sick patients which is much appreciated, as well as a very comfortable nursing room. Parking is easy and location off the 101 is super convenient! They also have embraced patient tech like myChart so you can message your doctor, pay bills online, check health info and lab results and manage appointments. Lastly, unlike many other medical offices I have dealt with, I have not had any billing fiascos -- it's all been very smooth so far thankfully!!

Unfortunately, our experience with Dr. Gianna Frazee at Town and Country Pediatrics left much to be desired. Prior to this visit, we were seeing Dr. Ullom, who unfortunately left the clinic. We were then assigned a random pediatrician who turned out to be Dr. Gianna Frazee. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that the staff's priority was simply going through the motions rather than providing compassionate care. Despite expressing my concerns about my daughter's health and insisting on a blood work test to understand the underlying cause of her fever, Dr. Frazee seemed disinterested and dismissive. Not only did Dr. Frazee refuse to accommodate my request for a blood test, but she also seemed to prioritize ordering unnecessary tests for flu and strep throat, despite my daughter not exhibiting any symptoms related to these conditions. It felt like a rushed and impersonal visit, leaving me questioning Dr. Frazee's commitment to patient care. Additionally, I found it concerning that Dr. Frazee was unwilling to order the blood work test because it was a Friday afternoon, suggesting that the office doesn't work on weekends. I explained that the labs are open over the weekend and we could review the test results ourselves, but my concerns were dismissed. If she considers herself a good doctor she should be available for her patients outside of 9-to-5 office hours. Otherwise, it's a joke and not a doctor. When you're a pediatrician, you need to understand that sometimes you're dealing with worried parents and have to be compassionate instead of dismissing their concerns. Overall, our experience at Town and Country Pediatrics with Dr. Gianna Frazee was disappointing and frustrating. As a parent, I expect healthcare providers to prioritize patient care and communication, which was sorely lacking in this instance. I will be seeking care elsewhere for my daughter and would not recommend Town and Country Pediatrics to others in search of compassionate and attentive pediatric care. Update: We ended up going to an emergency, they did blood work and x-rays, and it turned out to be pneumonia on the left lung! This highlights again a total unprofessionalism and incompetence of Gianna Frazee.

The day after he was born, a pediatrician from GG pediatrics came into our room, introduced herself (Dr. Dana) and told us she'd checked up on Max. She was wonderful. The next day, the rounding physician did the same thing. We were discharged from CPMC with a somewhat yellow baby, and told to get a bilirubin lab the next day, to make sure the newborn jaundice wasn't dangerous. So of course, I go home, there's tons of relatives there, we're all having fun, and I didn't feel like getting the lab drawn the next day. Come on, I'm a physician, right? Well, Bill Gonda called me back personally, and told me to get my butt into the lab and get the test. Sure enough, the bilirubin was ...bad. So of course, then we got bilirubin lights delivered to our house in the middle of the night, we got more labs, things got a little worse, we ended up in the NICU, with our precious brand new baby under the lights, and we got through it. All through this, (weekends were involved), we had the support and personal phone calls from a number of pediatricians in the group (Mary Piel is phenomenal, too, incidentally), not to mention personal phone calls from Dr. Gonda checking up on my kid (NICU nurses saying, "oh, Dr. Gonda just called in," or "Dr. Gonda wants you to spend the night." ) He was always checking on Max, even when we probably didn't even know it. And here's the thing: he wasn't even on call that weekend!!! He doesn't get paid extra for any of this crap, and remember, this whole thing probably happened because I didn't feel like listening to him in the first place! Now that's great doctoring... Another reviewer said a lot of nasty things about the office, incidentally, and we totally disagree. It's a bustling, happy place, and we have never been seen more than 10 minutes after our appointment time. We get a lot of personal time with Dr. G, and we love the smiling and happy staff. The walls are bright pink! What's not to love?? It's a great place, and quite honestly, I think it's the premiere pediatric office in the city. Max is a lucky kid, to have such great doctors.

There is a Yelp entry for the practice, (http://www.yelp.com/biz/piel-patton-aicardi-and-gonda-mill-valley) and instead of adding her review there, she created a new one which reflects poorly on a consummate professional. Dr. William Gonda may be the single best pediatrician in the Bay Area. He has been our son and daughter's pediatrician since birth, and was highly recommended by virtually every parent that we asked prior. Dr. Gonda is a very smart doctor, with very good instincts. Our son has had Impetigo, Rubella, Roseola, a very serious Amoebic infection, and a massive poison oak allergy. Dr. Gonda has been calm, thoughtful, and helpful through these and the routine visits, and will often call to check in. He takes his diagnosis and treatment personally and makes you feel like your kids are as important to you as they are to him. If you can get Dr. Gonda, you are lucky.

While pregnant, we'd had a few introductory conversations with the different pediatricians we'd been considering for our son. Though all seemed good, we just got a special feeling about Dr. Rosenberg. We are so thankful to have found her! Dr. Rosenberg has that special blend of clinical approach and great bedside manner that I find to be more and more rare these days. She always makes us feel at ease despite her busy schedule, and gives us straighforward and clear answers. She often talks to us about recent medical findings and other developments when we ask about something, and we've never been disappointed or frustrated after asking a question. She seems as concerned with our son's development as she is with his health, so we get a broad picture of his wellness each time we see her. Also, each of the specialists we've seen to-date have been very impressed at the just-right timing of her intervention to escalate our issues appropriately. They always seem to know her name and comment on how good of a doctor they think she is. For me, that kind of reputation speaks volumes. As new parents, those first few days/weeks were nerve-racking! We had to call the after-hours clinic a **couple** of times (okay, lots), and each time, we'd get a call the next day from Dr. Rosenberg to check on us. She's even called more than once in a day if she missed us. Even calls to the nurse advice line got us follow-ups from Dr. Rosenberg herself. I was so impressed, not to mention relieved to feel that we had someone looking out for us...doing this with us. It made such a big difference to our confidence and stress levels just when we needed it. Dr. Rosenberg really gets patient care, and that really shines through. We have a tremendous amount of confidence in her medical knowledge, and our check-ins are always a worthwhile experience. I will say that more recently, I believe she's had to take on a bit more of a load due to some (temporary??) shifts in doctor staffing at her practice. This has resulted in a bit less availability at the Marin office (which is where we mainly see her), and also a little bit of a drop-off in her ability to give us those much-loved follow-up calls. However, she's told us to let her know our feedback, because her aim is to know how her patients are dealing with these changes, and improve wherever possible. I really appreciate that! Feedback: Bring Dr. Rosenberg back to Marin on Fridays!!! I hesitate to attract more patients to her (we'd love her to ourselves!), but I have to say that any new (or not new) parent to a precious child would be lucky to have her in their corner.
