I've been coming here every day lately and honestly can't say enough good things about it. The coaches are amazing--super warm, welcoming, and clearly very passionate about what they do. You can tell they genuinely care about everyone in the room, which makes a big difference. One thing I really appreciate is that they keep the space at about 80% capacity. Unlike a lot of other studios, it never feels overcrowded and you can usually grab a class whenever you want, even during busier parts of the day. The environment is also very friendly to beginners. They break classes down based on how many sessions you've attended, which makes it much less intimidating if you're new. The workouts are 50-minute reformer classes and they will absolutely make you sore--in the best way. The studio itself is cozy, well-located, and really nicely designed. The app is also super easy to use for booking classes. They're currently running a two-week unlimited deal for $90, which is honestly an incredible value if you want to try it out. Overall, a really welcoming space with great energy and great coaches. I'm very glad I found it. read more

I did the full body class with Jennifer R. and it was tough! ... But in a good way. Although challenging, I really enjoyed the core exercises. I could feel my obliques transforming in the process. They are trying to get cute and add too many things to a class - pilates, core training, weights, bands, etc. Music so loud and can't understand instructor. Furthermore, it is very dangerous. The instructor told us about a lady that got her foot caught in the machine and broke it. I hurt my back when panel slid out from under me. Another fad experience that won't make it. read more

I love this new location! If you're a solidcore fan, this studio setup is very similar to their McKinney location. The area is great though, being in the Preston Hollow Village means there's tons of amazing restaurants and even a Trader Joe's nearby. (If you get confused, this studio is right next to a taco joint and across from Blue Sushi Sake Grill.) Cute amenities, new equipment, amazing variety of class times. Their new crop of instructors are spot on, so take a chance on any of them! Parking can be limited on the street if you come during peak hours, but there's planting of lot and garage parking around. I've visited SolidCore twice since they've opened and have had great workouts both times! I've gone to the Downtown Dallas - McKinney location a few times, and was excited to hear a closer location- Preston Hollow- was opening up. My two instructors at this new location were Kate and Kendall. Your parking options: Street parking alongside the studio or parking garage. The Trader Joes parking lot is supposed to be for TJ customers only. The first time I went, I arrived 2-3 minutes before class. The door was locked, and I thought I was locked out. The majority of people were already inside setting up. A couple minutes later, the instructor came to open the door for the rest of us waiting outside. I'm not sure why the studio has to be locked before the class even starts. The workout itself is great! I workout about 5-6x a week, but Pilates isn't in my regular rotation of workouts. I think SolidCore is a lot tougher than other Pilates studios in DFW, and for that I love it! The instructors were very clear on what they wanted us to do next, and talk the entire time. It's really helpful for people like me who don't really think about the next move while doing another move, but want to be mentally prepared. I was sore for almost two days after each class. I'll be back to this studio to try other instructors or when I need a good ab burnout with low impact! read more

I went to this location (first time at solidcore in TX) a couple times while I was visiting home over the holidays. It's very spacious and of course, an amazing and ridiculously killer workout. Both instructors I had were so great and really pushed all of us to reach our full potential while still staying safe. I love the workout as it really targets all the little muscles, I actually have abs now thanks to this class. I've never had a class at any location that was not fantastic, nor an instructor that was anything less than perfect! I am a huge cardio/HIIT buff, but I love mixing in a class here with a run or spin class to get everything in. You won't regret coming in! read more

Scheduled for a 2PM class. I got there at 1:57 and was trying to open the door with their code several times, tried downloading the app because the code didn't work. The code to the door straight up never worked. I was outside the place knocking on the door several times and nobody cared to tend to me. I paid for this, wasn't let inside, and no call back after I've tried SEVERAL times. This place is extremely careless, never trying again, still trying to get my money back. Don't go here. read more

This is a nice change up if you're used to HIIT classes like I am. I consider myself to be in moderately good physical shape. But I was challenged here. This is basically a high resistance band work out that forces you to work on balance and core strength throughout. It's the Pilates reformer machine so if you're not familiar it's a moving "carriage" between to stable platforms. Various resistance bands are hooked on. You can change your resistance by adding or subtracting springs. It becomes more understandable once you see the machine and how it operates. It's an intimidating machine but I went into this knowing I don't know how to use this thing very well and will just have to humble myself and learn. The instructors will help you with the resistance choices. If you're looking to lose weight you'll need to add in some cardio elsewhere. But this is excellent for toning I suspect and will be back for sure. Your muscles shake for a good 15 minutes after the work out. I read a review somewhere that after just three classes you can start to see your body change. I thought that sounded ridiculous but after doing this workout I can see how it may be true. I took one star off because as a first-timer I had some trouble knowing the moves and when you're down in plank position it's difficult to see what the instructor is doing across the room. Not sure how to fix this. I was able to watch a few of the ladies near me who were more experienced and pick up most of the moves that way. read more

Solidcore describes itself as a Pilates studio where you will do "slow and controlled full body resistance training to burn fat and build lean muscle." That is a good description of classical Pilates but Solidcore is contemporary Pilates which is more of a HIIT type workout. It is not slow at all, very fast paced, super loud music, dark room, the opposite of what Pilates is. I did have an instructor in training, and she was pretty bad. I told her my hamstrings are really tight and I've had injuries, which is why I'm interested in Pilates. Pilates is supposed to help someone like me. However, Solidcores workout is for someone fully recovered from tightness. I was disappointed the instructor didn't understand how to work with me or at least say from beginning oh this isn't for you. She didn't have that perspective. Additionally, 3 of the 4 of us were new to the class and she still just sped through the class with very little explanation or instruction. With such a small class, it would have been easy for her to go slower and explain more. If you're looking for traditional, classical Pilates, Solidcore is not it at all. If you are in good shape, and want to push yourself with a fusion Pilates HIIT workout, this would be good for you. read more
