Kiva Strong

Has a cool, crisp, and nurturing mood to it. Lighting comes from the windows filtered sun and the cool ambient lighting throughout the space. No drill sergeant routine here. Instructors are all highly skilled compassionate, amusing, and fun to work with. They will encourage me to push myself only to my limits on any particular day. Pilates isn't just physical, it's mental. My mind cannot wonder because I'm too focused; it requires a lot of concentration. I always get two focused experiences in one session. With all my heart, I recommend Kiva. Students range from 20s to 70s, so with the wide array of abilities, there is much flexibility to my training. I'm 62, and I believe Pilates will keep my mind an my body strong, fluid, and balanced. I love Kiva. My instructor is Aley, and she is super! She understands my body's abilities and she knows how to queue me for the workout. She's the best instructor I've ever had, so ask for her if you're hesitant to try out Pilates.

Great traditional Pilates studio! I've done Pilates all over Dallas and this place definitely is in the top 3 list of favorites! The owner's are amazing and super helpful! I took a Kiva Strong & Stretch class and I was definitely challenged! The studio has ample parking and is super bright and airy. I'll definitely be back to try their reformer class and take a private lesson!

I am not from the area but was in town for work meeting. I can't start my day without little Pilates session so I booked a class via MINDBODY app. They had some special 20 bucks for a drop in rate, perfect! They were located close enough to the hotel I stayed at. The studio is kinda hidden in the corner but it smelled like lavender when I walked in and I love lavender. The instructor and her vibe was cool. The class was small and intimate. The reformer machines were kinda antiquey but they functioned the same as what I am used to. Overall it was a great visit and I would recommend it if you live in Dallas.

I'm on Classpass and I go to all the studios. This is the BEST of all the studios. The instructors are AMAZING and are so good about correcting form and making the most of the time. There's a lot of places in Uptown that are so intimidating, but Kiva is so welcoming and I leave feeling strong every time. You get the most $ for your time here. I leave shaking like a leaf and I love every minute of it. I've only been to 10 classes, but can already notice some difference in my body. Parking can be kinda tough, but just wait till the last class leaves and park in the yellow lined spaces.

Loved that the instructor made sure that our form was correct the entire class and constantly came around to correct us if not!

I especially like Janine's class since she teaches you not only the correct forms but also the reason behind.

I have been taking Pilates classes for close to a year off and on. I frequent a place in Lakewood…read morewhere I feel like I'm mostly on my game there. Now in walks Bodybar Pilates and I feel like Mr. Pilates is on drugs. This ish is more challenging than what I'm used to. Oof! I sighed up for the free introductory class and attended one night after work. The process to check in was easy and the young girls working gave me the lowdown on the place and sent me off to workout. I did the classic Pilates class with Diane. She knew I was a newbie so she showed me how to adjust the reformer and tips for the class and she checked on me often to see if I was hanging in. The workout was pretty fast paced and I hung for most of it and took small breaks when needed. I haven't had a good workout like that in a long time. Flash forward to a month later and I am a member. Surprisingly this uptown location is cheaper than my place in Lakewood. You can book all your classes on the app. I haven't tried anything other than the classic, but will definitely branch out. There is free parking in the parking garage to the left of Pilates. Pay attention or you'll miss it. It's confusing too because there is an apartment attached to the garage so you may get stuck on a floor where you'll end up walking up a ramp. That would only happen to me I'm sure though. Otherwise find street parking! When you walk in you will check in to class on the iPad. Then set your belongings in the cubbies. Bring your grip socks and be prepared to crush it (at your own speed) for 50 minutes.

Absolutely love the classes at Body Bar. The instructors are attentive and clear with instruction…read moreand are very positive with correcting certain postures to improve the experience. With consistency, you will see an overall improvement in your posture and shape.
