Now I really get to check this place out even though I already love it here. When you sign up you can take classes at this location or their SMU location (above Barley House). They offer classes from kickboxing, barre type classes, cardio, weight training and even have a spin studio. The classes I have taken each have pumpin' music and you do the exercises to the beat of the music and are led by an instructor. Each instructor I have had, have been fun, and energetic. The classes are big so you watch and listen to the instructor to see what to do at each move. I love classes where you're on your own but have the community vibe too. Not that I don't like working out with men but there's something nice about an all female gym where you feel a little bit more at ease. I have seen one or two guys in here so it looks like they can take a class? I am fully digging this place and liking the scheduled, and all the different work outs to choose from. Parking feels a little challenging being off Irving Blvd but I have never had an issue. You check in at the front desk and go to your workout room. The instructor/coach will give you further instructions. When leaving make sure you put up any equipment and wipe down your mat with the cleaners and paper towels provided. The GRIT app is so easy to use and you see the full schedule of classes at both studios. There are descriptions of the classes and will let you know if sneakers, grip socks or being barefoot is required.

From my first time visiting, I've felt nothing less than a welcoming environment. Both of the instructors that I've experienced have done such an excellent job at making cardio fun and exciting, while still getting in a great workout! Cash had my arms on fireee, and Jess had my legs shakinggg (in a great way- haha.) I'd strongly recommend putting this place in your fitness rotation!! The studio is the perfect size, and all the ladies and few gentlemen that attend are very friendly!! It's a Win-Win for sure.

I had originally signed up for the bootyfit but ended up having to make a last minute trip to Austin. Since they use the MINDBODY app for scheduling, it was extremely convenient to change my class to the Wednesday Trap Step. I was a little curious what that would entail with the name, but it was a step class set to trap music. I should have known I guess ‍ trap step is a 60 minute class, and ours includes a warm up, three songs choreographed, and a cool down... it was a lot of fun and I did NOT realize the calves workout that I got in until today. Let me tell ya!!! You burn a lot in that class!! The only "negative" is they don't have fans yet and pretty early on we needed that AC bumped down, and it took a minute for it to start cooling off... but then it was fine! I'm excited to try all of their classes and I will try to update my review once I do!

The program creates workouts that are never the same each day so if you're like me who gets bored with doing the same exact routine every day then this is a workout for you. This location offers classes that start as early as 530am, 630am, 10am, 530pm and 630pm. On Fridays their latest class is at 530pm and Saturdays they only have 930am and 1130am classes with a DJ present to get the people going. Each class is scheduled for 45minutes. They start out the class with the trainers demonstrating each station. But they also have three TVs that will also have someone showing you what to do at the station so you don't have to memorize what each station is. Then, after the demonstration everyone faces the TVs to follow the warm up moves. At this time, trainers will walk around to give you a station number where you will start your workout after you finish warming up. If you don't get sweaty after a F45 workout, you're not challenging yourself enough. And last but not least, as to why I commit to going every day is because of the trainers. I've tried different gyms/ workout classes but the dedication and motivation that the trainers bring to class every day is inspirational. So whether you're an athlete or someone going to the gym for the very first time, they make you feel comfortable and are truly engaging throughout the classes. They will even do it with you! If you're in the Victory Park/Uptown location, it doesn't hurt to try F45. They offer a free 7 day trial so you can get a taste of what it's like.

Don't drop the equipment or use Super heavy weights because one of the Staff members will ask you to not disturb the spa next-door. The music sounds depressing and it's played through an intercom system. But it's the only full gym on the side of town. It closes a little too early. You are sharing with Hotel guest. That may not know what they're doing. So I only maybe recommend it. The few positives include: You can probably find the equipment you're looking for. It's not overly crowded, unless there's a convention of annoying people in town like yesterday. They keep it clean. Generally, I feel it's overpriced for the value. I went to one class so far and there was no one attending, I arrived right at the class time and the teacher was packing up because no one was there. Like I said, from an equipment standpoint, there is everything you need, it is not the top of the line, but everything seems pretty well-maintained and in working order. Access to the hotel pools is also a plus. But it does not feel friendly at all, you are kind of left alone to figure things out. I came from very communal gym membership environments so it is quite a change.

Now in walks Bodybar Pilates and I feel like Mr. Pilates is on drugs. This ish is more challenging than what I'm used to. Oof! I sighed up for the free introductory class and attended one night after work. The process to check in was easy and the young girls working gave me the lowdown on the place and sent me off to workout. I did the classic Pilates class with Diane. She knew I was a newbie so she showed me how to adjust the reformer and tips for the class and she checked on me often to see if I was hanging in. The workout was pretty fast paced and I hung for most of it and took small breaks when needed. I haven't had a good workout like that in a long time. Flash forward to a month later and I am a member. Surprisingly this uptown location is cheaper than my place in Lakewood. You can book all your classes on the app. I haven't tried anything other than the classic, but will definitely branch out. There is free parking in the parking garage to the left of Pilates. Pay attention or you'll miss it. It's confusing too because there is an apartment attached to the garage so you may get stuck on a floor where you'll end up walking up a ramp. That would only happen to me I'm sure though. Otherwise find street parking! When you walk in you will check in to class on the iPad. Then set your belongings in the cubbies.
