We are very pleased with the work from this company. It is just big enough to have a wide range of…read morecapabilities and small enough that the owners know exactly what's going on. Project managers make sure everything gets done right. The last 5% so to speak is what many contractors get wrong and then ruin the job. These folks get that final 5% right. If there's any issue they will stand behind it and fix it They use a team approach which seems to work well.

Where do we begin? I actually found the service from a referral as my sister used them to build a…read morestunning screened in porch and Wyckoff. We had them come to provide an estimate to refurbish our front entryway, brick steps. Ultimately we landed on hiring them because we knew that they were going to be the experts we wanted. Keep in mind, the company isn't necessarily going to be the cheapest (we had several estimates) however you certainly get what you pay for (in a good way). The project manager that we were working with Maryann, was absolutely phenomenal. Any inquiry or additional ask that I came up with along the way (and I'm a perfectionist so I can be a little annoying) she addressed in a prompt manner. Not only did we change the scope of the project as we uncovered new obstacles along the way, but I even pivoted after we got a brick delivery to ensure the brick matched. They were happy to pause and go back to the brick supplier to ensure they were getting the exact tone I was looking for. Gio was our masonry and after using him, I don't think I'll ever use another masonry other than him. I work remote and was able to see a lot of the work he was putting in and it truly is a craft. He took his time and made sure he cared about things even unrelated to the job. To give you a sense of professionalism that this company brings to the table once the project was done, and I was absolutely floored by the results, I found Geo spreading a pile of new mulch we had put on the side to backfill areas that were hard to get around during the renovation. They were so polite to my young children and even interacted with my 3 year old often to let him see the big construction tools in action. This company is the real deal and if you're looking for something to get done at the highest professional degree while maintaining on time scheduling and above and beyond expertise, these are the folks for you.

DO NOT USE! I paid a lot of money for landscaping that still looks poorly done. The tree layout is…read moreuneven, one was completely forgotten and later planted by hand, and now it's visibly misaligned. The spacing makes the entire front yard look unfinished and thrown together. I was told the boxwoods would fill in within a year; it's been two years and they've barely grown. That was either completely unrealistic or just flat-out misleading. The edging and flower bed work is sloppy and uneven. There's no attention to detail, and it shows. Communication was just as bad. Calls were ignored, and when he did respond, it was with "what do you want to talk about?" -- which is not how you speak to a paying customer. At one point, it honestly felt like his own worker knew more than he did and was trying to guide him, but he didn't listen. This wasn't a one-time mistake, it's a pattern of poor workmanship, lack of knowledge, and unprofessional behavior. Save your money and hire someone who actually knows what they're doing.

I can't say enough about the excellent work done by Cosmo Landscaping. Unsurprisingly, the owner of…read morethe company is a guy called Cosmo, and working with him was a real treat not only because he has such a delightful name, but because the work he does at the price point he offers is unparalleled. Communication, affordability, flexibility, efficiency, assiduity - that's the package you get with Cosmo Landscaping. But what you really need to know is I moved into a new house with a disaster of a backyard - it was full of random old bricks, tiny pebbles, and the corpses of about ten -thousand lantern flies. Those little pebbles I mentioned - man - they were everywhere - and were sort of cheap stone you might expect to find at the bottom of a fish thank rather than sprinkled about your yard like a badly decorated cake manufactured by a kindergartner with free reign of the confectionery cupboard. Alas - such was my yard. And I wanted it fixed - bad. I brought in all kinds of troops. Old friends with big debts to pay who I hoped might do me a favor, family with construction business experience, and even a half dozen landscapers and contractors who all promised the world tied up in a pretty pink bow that would fit right in my backyard. But I didn't trust a single one, until Cosmo showed up. The first thing you gotta know is that I'm not easy customer to please. I can do a good bit of construction myself, and like I say, have the soldiers to rely on should I need a hand. But the thing I don't have is time, and so I hate hiring a guy to do a job that I could have done myself (with a little help from my friends) only to find out the job was done half-assedly and worse than I would have done myself. Cosmo came to give me an estimate in the middle of a horrifying blizzard and stood outside with me for ages thinking through exactly how the project should look. I had half a dozen cockamamie ideas that he talked me out of - thank YHWH - and he even used a bunch of old garbage leftover from the previous owners to demonstrate and help me visualize the ideas he had and to talk me out of my own disastrous line of thinking. Well, long story short, we had a lot of back and forth about the price, the objective, how it would look, the features, and he was good enough to trust that I could handle a good portion of the preparatory labor - so he worked with me on that and we got the job rolling and over a period of time we transformed my yard from no-mans-land to a wee urban oasis. The proof is in the pudding, as they say (see photos below).
