This is the best nail place I've been to so far. Usually my nails don't get painted all the way down, so it looks like I already need a fill, they are crooked! Not good. But this place, my nails are straight, the guy that did my nails was so beyond nice! The one thing I would recommend is that you don't get a pedicure here if you want to feel relaxed. The reason for this is that the little stool you put your feet on while getting your nails painted is a few inches too high. This results in a very awkward positioning. I don't want to feel like I'm working to keep my legs elevated and my toes pointing downward. Very uncomfortable. (Especially wearing a dress or skirt, even though they give you a towel to put on your lap.) read more

I always love the nail techs and they do a wonderful job, but unfortunately lately the scheduling has seemed a little unorganized. I work around the corner, so I always call the morning I want to go in and ask what a good time is and then make an appointment for that time. Even with an appointment it seems that there is still about a 20-30 minute wait which kind of defeats the purpose of making an appointment at all. I am pretty patient and understanding that it gets busy so although it can be disappointing and frustrating, I would never openly complain or be rude to the staff, but I've found that most other people are not the same. Today several people were very openly upset about the wait time even with appointments. On a Friday before a long weekend knowing everyone wants to have their nails done, it would be a good idea to have more staff but I believe there were only 3 today. And many people waiting and/or ultimately leaving out of frustration. read more

Awful, don't go here! The lady who did my nails was terrible. First, she was rude and making not nice comments about the lady whose nails she did before mine. I went in for gelish nails - she did a terrible job. She messed up the shape, did an awful job filing my nails, and when she left a bubble in one, she said there was nothing she could do about it. Do not make an appointment. Even if there are only 3 other customers in the store you will wait at least 15 minutes. Do not expect any friendliness. The receptionist answers the phone by just saying "hello" and your nail tech will not ask you what your preferences are or even give you a welcoming greeting. Do expect for your nail polish to not dry because all of the polishes are old and when you drive out of your way to go get it fixed your nail tech, who you already tipped, will say its your fault because you were reading magazines. I visited Solid Nail Salon on 9/10/2015 as a recommendation from the conceirge at the hotel I was staying at nearby. This was the absolute worst nail experience I've ever had. I was visiting from out of state and needed my nails done for a wedding I was in. The first gentleman was very pleasant and chatty. He seemed to be pretty confident in his skills. His customer service was stellar, the work however, was not. My pedicure (with OPI polish) was bubbled and my nails were not filed evenly. My shellac manicure (with OPI gel polish) was also uneven. My nails were filed so thin that they cracked at the edges and three of them broke almost immediately after i left. The shellac was put on too thickly and did not cure completely, which led to bubbling and a weird liquidy finish. For fear of fungus or some other negative result to my natural nails, I went back the following day. The person I am guessing was the manager, took me to his chair and proceeded to redo the worst of my nails. He was rough and seemed irritated that I would ask for the job to be redone. He filed my nails even more and did a quick paint job. Two of my nails were still wet and bubbly when I left, but I was out of time and had to finish preparing for the wedding. In less than a week, my nails look as if they've never been cared for. The shellac has chipped, peeled off, and otherwise cracked or broken. It has snagged on my clothing and generally looks terrible. Since I am used to getting shellac manicures, I know that they last for me at least two weeks and I know how my nails generally look when it's time for a new manicure. After spending 2.5 hours and $90, I will NEVER ever go back there or recommend this as a place for quality nail work. read more

I went for an acrylic set and pedicure. For such a large salon however, there weren't many girls there. I was bounced back in forth between technicians. At one point they stopped in the middle of my acrylics because a client "before me" was done with her pedicure and needed her acrylics done. I was then rushed over to my pedicure with another technician who was friendly but pushed too hard for me to get a higher priced pedicure. She said, "I wouldn't feel like I did a good job without the buffing package and it would make me happy." Wait, aren't I the client? I declined. She was persistant though. "I really think you need callous removal" she said as she massaged my feet and made a face in front of all the other clients. Ouch, that's embarrassing. In all honesty, I'm in my teens and I can say with confidence my feet did not need callous removal. She did do a nice job on the the polish. That is, until my separate acrylic technician accidently stepped on my toe later and no one offered to fix it. After that, I waited another 20 minutes until the acrylic technician finished the other client. At one point in buffing, she hit my skin, made me bleed, and said, "Oh, am I hurting you?" Uhm, yes?! Due to the break with the "other client," she must have forgotten where she left off and forgot to trim down one hand to match the other (didn't realize until after I left of course). Now, I am left with uneven acrylics and gunk stuck underneath my nails that wasn't cleared. As the salon started to fill up, I could sense her panic as her next appointments were approaching. In an attempt to rush, she began air brushing before I could even remind her I wanted a pink french manicure, not just white tips. All in all, I tried to avoid the cheap mall nail salons by coming to Solid. Instead, I got the same exact quality, perhaps even less quality in the acrylic department, only more pricey (about $3-8 more than mall). If you want a nice pedicure, the salon will do. Just don't be pushed over for a more expensive package than you intended, even if they insult you. read more

Solid is a solid nail place in my opinion. I stopped in after work and got in no wait. The nail tech was great. Not too chatty which I like. They opened a new nail kit and file. Place was very clean. The technician wore gloves for the pedi. I am a nurse so I like that. Good color selection. I was very happy with the results. Pedi was cheap too. Starts at $26 depending on how fancy you are feeling. In my opinion you shouldn't have your feet shaved every time. Those calluses are good for you. Manicures start at $16. Very affordable. I don't understand the people who give Solid a bad review. It is perfect ( at least for me.) I make appointments during my lunch hour since it is near my work and never have to wait. I always get gel polish from Quinny and it lasts 2 weeks. She does a great job-- always paints the whole nail down to the cuticle ( I have had multiple salons who half ass it and do not cover the entire nail) and is quick! Also, I can clearly understand her ( also have had issues in the past.) Her and Twan do an excellent job. They offer gel for the toes and have sooo many awesome colors to choose from for any season. This is my go- to place for my nails and I am a frequent customer!!! read more

I've gotten 3 pedicures here in the last year and have had a pleasant experience each time. Twice I was able to walk in without more than a 10 minute wait, but once they were booked solid and I had to come back the next day. I've had the same technician each time, but don't remember her name. She was nice though and very good. I personally don't really like all the idle chit chat that fill most salons, I'd rather sit there and read a book while my feet get pampered, which I was able to do 2 of the 3 times. Once though, the place was full of all the techs talking back and forth while they worked... it was a little annoying. But their price is pretty decent and my pedi's last a good long while and my feet feel great when I'm done, so that's all that matters. read more

I wanted to try someplace different and this was a mistake... the guy that I made appt with threaten to charge me 5.00 for changing my appointment time .. or actually he said for being late,,,, I called in the AM and changed my appointment time by a half hour and was told that would be fine...(I called and 10AM, appointmetn was for 230 I changed it to 3PM) I got a new set and french tip with a silver line... they look like a 4 year polished them and the silver line is all clumpy,,, U can see and feel the clumps.. I also wanted a small design on and he said he couldnt , another girl tried and failed and spilled polish,,I begged to let me pay and get out of there... so I paid 50 some dollars and left .... now trying to make apt to go to 1 of my regular places to get them polished..... read more

I used to frequent this nail salon a lot but recently you can't get an appointment to save your life! We can fit you in, in the 3 hours!?! Seriously the cable company has a better window than that. also I'd say half the time I'm not satisfied with my mani or pedi, there's a scratch in my gels that wasn't fixed, my pedi only has one coat of polish on them, etc. It's just gone downhill, don't waste your hard earned cash! read more

Horrible..my second time here..first time was ok. Second time I went in for a nail repair ..the nail was too thick and not filed down to match the rest of my nails..they were crooked and in even..after I told him I was not satisfied and explained to him what I didn't like they offered to fix it and made it worse.. they filed my nail after the Polish and didn't even repolish..I was livid... I frequent Solid nails often, stopped going after being turned away at 6:30 because they close at 7. I've been to other salons where as long as you're in by 7 you will be serviced well at Solid nails it has happened to me at least 3 times so the most recent visit on Wednesday June 15th there was one lady being services and no one else waiting and I was told they were closed at 6:45, after being asked what I wanted done (gel polish) & they spoke in their language i will not be going back ever again!! I went for a shellac manicure. The manicurist cut my finger while working on my cuticles. He didn't allow time for it to heal, and he didn't clean off the scab. I now have a scab shellac-ed onto my nails! It looks terrible. I also thought the polish was waaaay too transparent. I asked the manicurist to apply a THIRD coat and you can still see the calcium deposits on my nail underneath. read more

I had shellac and pedicure done here last week and one nail chipped very badly. I stopped in to get it fixed (never asked for it to be free) and upon politely asking to have it fixed, was berated (in front of staff and other clients) by the original person who did my nails. He said "you have to pay, it was a week ago and it is your fault that it chipped." I was fuming and ready to walk out, when one of the other employees stopped me, apologized and helped me. She was very polite and did not charge me. However, this was so embarrassing that even the other client who witnessed this apologized to me. It is a shame because they are within walking distance of my office and I probably would have been a frequent customer. Instead, I will never step foot in this establishment again. read more

This used to be such a great place... However it went downhill fast, I did not return for at least a year due to horrible service and all the good manicurists left due to the overly chatty obnoxious owner.. Went back last week thinking they would get better, WRONG!!!! The place was filthy dirty I should have walked out but had to get to work... One guy scuffed around in his sandals to lazy to pick up his feet with his headphones on.. The man that did my nails tried telling me what I told hi I did not want, the gel was thick and uneven when I got home to shower for work my hair got stuck in the snaggly uneven gel and next day bubbles appeared, after two days they started flaking and chipping, nothing has changed only got worse, my time is valuable and I cannot and will not go back to this filthy unproffesional place, I can't believe they haven't shut them down! I was in town for a wedding & decided to stop by Solid since it was nearby. The receptionist was hardly attentive, and I waited upwards of 10 minutes to be seated at a clean station (there were 4 empty stations, and I was the only person waiting); apparently it's more important to have a place for the staff's morning coffee than a place for the paying customer. I asked for a French manicure & the tech refused to use the polishes I chose, instead using an extremely old-looking bottle of white polish and something akin to acetone (I think). The manicure itself was poorly done (uneven, bubbles in the polish, generally sloppy) and literally washed off in the shower two days later. Poor service, poor staff, poorly kept salon, and way overpriced----I pay $15 for a premium manicure in Chicago that lasts at least a week, so the $22 for the absolute worst manicure I've ever gotten, from a tiny little suburban nail salon mind you, is absolutely absurd.
