I met Hasmik who enthusiastically told me about her brother, Armen, and how he creates jewelry by giving customers a computerized image of their piece to review before he physically designs it. I wasn't looking for anything in particular at that time so I moved on, not expecting to return. Well, I am so glad that I stumbled in there! A few months later my fiancé proposed and gave me a very beautiful and unique engagement ring. The ring has a low setting and a twisted double shank, which made it very difficult to find a wedding band that looked good next to it. I was having a lot of trouble deciding the style of band I wanted with the ring, and when I say trouble, I mean I was paralyzed with indecision. I remembered that Armeny makes custom jewelry and thought they might help me figure out what looked best. I also was excited by the idea of seeing the wedding band on a computer screen before it was actually made (that way I wouldn't have to worry about my imagination matching reality). I went in to Armeny and had my first consult with Armen. We came up with 3 different possible styles for my wedding band. I was still having trouble making up my mind and went in for multiple consults. Armen didn't seem to mind my frequent visits, he was incredibly helpful and gave me feedback through the whole thing. One of the options (which I didn't do) would have involved making a double-sided band that sat flush to the curves of my engagement ring, with the diamonds slightly tilting outward so that it looked the most sparkly. Armen would have taken a mold of my engagement ring so that he could make a computerized image of my engagement ring to be 100% accurate in making the matching band. I ended up having him replicate a ring that my great grandmother wore, using her diamonds. (My engagement ring and wedding band do not match at all, but it looks like it is on purpose, and I actually like it that way). He still took the measurements of my engagement ring and then very carefully examined all of her diamonds and told me which ones were likely the originals, and which ones were poorer quality replacements. He made my new ring using all of her original diamonds and found 2 additional diamonds of the same quality to complete the near-eternity style band. Long story short, I love love love the wedding band he made! Throughout the entire experience Armen was VERY attentive to detail. During our consults he was very contemplative and thoughtful and it was clear to me that he wanted to make my ring as beautiful as possible. He is a true artist.

After a few months I noticed that despite my regular windings, it would run slow. Then I took it into a shallow pool. And remember the face of the watch said "waterproof". The watch stopped working. The face was damaged by droplets of water that leaked in. I reached out to Rick, the owner of this establishment, about fixing this issue. I was told that a simple maintenance and cleaning would get it back to normal. But he ironically said he did not have the time. So not only was the watch faulty from the start, Rick did not take any responsibility for it. What saddens me the most is that the watch used to be a beautiful symbol of my marriage, and at one time I considered it to be the nicest gift I had ever been given. But after my interaction with Rick, it's just a sore reminder that you just can't put your trust in small businesses anymore. Where is the integrity?
