used Solid Buy Car Wash for several years and had their monthly subscription, which was really easy to use and manage through the app.
I'll be honest, it's not the best car wash, but I originally used it because it was touchless. I prefer touchless washes because brushes can scratch up your car, so for the price the subscription originally was, I felt like it was worth it. It did the job.
The problem is that they have raised their prices quite a bit, and at the new price, it just isn't worth it to me anymore. Every time I went through, my car would be left with a noticeable haze on it. It didn't matter how many times I washed it, I would still have to go home and try to buff the haze off.
There's also a really odd thing they do during the drying cycle. When you're in the last 15 seconds of the dryer, they start the wash behind you even though there isn't a car in it, apparently to rinse out the lines or something. That water ends up soaking your car again right as you're finishing the wash. It just seems like a really dumb system.
Overall, I didn't mind using Solid Buy when the subscription was reasonably priced. The convenience and touchless aspect made it worthwhile despite the issues. But with the significant price increase and the fact that my car was never actually coming out clean without additional work, I decided it was no longer worth what they're charging. read more
