Mannnn. This car wash has been my go-to for years and years. Sure, sometimes the credit card readers didn't work, but the water pressure was great, the vacuums always had a decent amount of sucking power and the pricing was always reasonable, so I kept coming back.
Until yesterday.
I hand wash my car at home during the summer, so it had probably been 2-3 months since my last visit. At some point during that time, they apparently increased the prices on the DIY wash bays.
It used to be $3 to start, and you could either keep adding tokens or let your credit card keep running until you were finished. Yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised to see they'd finally upgraded the credit card reader... until I noticed it now costs $5 just to start the wash.
Okay, whatever. I swiped my card, did the high-pressure soap and switched over to the high-pressure rinse. Just as I finished rinsing the car, the wash shut off.
Exactly at $5.
I didn't even have enough time to rinse the underside of my car, let alone apply wax or use the spot-free rinse. All things I used to be able to do here--and completely finish washing my car--for around $9-$10 total.
So now $5 basically gets you soap and enough time to rinse it off, and then you're expected to pay another $5 if you actually want to finish the job?
What a damn rip-off. I've been coming here for years because it was a good wash at a fair price, but doubling down on a $5 minimum every time the timer runs out completely kills the value of a DIY wash bay. Really disappointing. read more
