My friends offered to pay for my first tattoo as an early Christmas present. I drove from Fort…read moreBragg to Ukiah to see them and get it done. Unfortunately my friends didn't realize tattoos are by appointment only right now, and nobody in Ukiah could fit us in. I called the first shop on Google in Santa Rosa, they had time to fit all three of us in if we could get there quickly. We jumped in the car and we headed down. I was nervous and shaky but super excited. My tattoo was a simple line design. I didn't catch the guy's name but I think he was blonde. He was super nice, and as soon as I laid down I was instantly comfortable and calm. It took maybe three to five minutes to complete, he bandaged it up and told me how to care for it, and that was that. Not the scary bleeding mess I was expecting after hearing tattoo horror stories from my mother for over half my life. I love my tattoo, and will probably make the drive to Santa Rosa again when I'm ready for my next one!

Safe to say they are not a women friendly shop. My story is long and I am not going to share it. But in the 10 minutes I was there for a touch up I was called a liar, drunk and rowdy. I don't drink, so it would be hard to come in the shop drunk and rowdy, and there was nothing to lie about, I just wanted my tattoo fixed. I think the workers were just trying to cover their ass with the owner for a shitty tattoo. All I was there to do was to get it fixed. Glad I saved all the communication between the shop, Nes and Daat. Who's the liar now?

I told him what I was looking to get and where I wanted my tattoo located. He asked questions and after that found the artist best for what I was looking for. Being I wanted black and gray he suggested Som. Set up an appointment for like a week out and asked if I'd drop of a deposit. Finally came the day to get my tattoo, I met with Som and we went over my tattoo I let him know it was for my sister, and he came up with a bad ass design and her nick name. Som is a super cool dude and even with a guy with anxiety put me at ease and we chopped it up during the tattoo. The rest of the staff were super friendly as well. Once Som was done I was blown away by his work, even a day later I keep looking at his work and and super happy. I have plenty of tattoos on me, and Soms work stands out. I showed my sister and she definitely wants to come in when she's in town. I will definitely be back, the rest of the staff was friendly as well, everyone at least said hi as I walked by.

The shop is clean, organized, and has a welcoming, friendly atmosphere that immediately makes you feel comfortable and at ease. Everyone is approachable, knowledgeable, and truly passionate about their craft. If you're thinking about getting tattooed or pierced, this is hands down the only place to go. I normally don't leave negative reviews, but after my experience with Nico, I feel it's important…read moreto share what happened. I originally started my tattoo sleeve with Nico on June 29, 2024, and paid for the work in full. Unfortunately, what should have been an exciting experience turned into nearly two years of frustration, disappointment, and unfinished work. At my very first appointment, I was scheduled for noon, only to discover I had been double-booked. My session didn't begin until approximately 3 PM. Despite this, I continued giving Nico the benefit of the doubt because I trusted him to complete the work I had already paid for. After a long gap between appointments, I returned on May 9, 2026. At another appointment on May 23, I was double-booked again, waited over four hours, and received approximately one hour of tattoo work. Throughout my experience, there were late starts, frequent smoke breaks, difficulty communicating, and what felt like a general lack of consideration for my time. My appointment on June 6, 2026, was another disappointment when Nico failed to show up. I later learned he was attending an event. My attempts to contact him went unanswered, including messages through Instagram. What makes this especially disappointing is that I had already paid for my sleeve in full and even tipped him at nearly every session. I was patient, understanding, and respectful of his time, but unfortunately, that same respect was not returned. What disappoints me most is that after everything, Nico never once reached out to apologize, follow up, or offer to make things right. To this day, I have never heard from him. I eventually had no choice but to find another tattoo artist to continue the sleeve I had already paid Nico to complete. Thankfully, I've found someone who is professional, reliable, and finally bringing my vision to life. After nearly two years, I'm finally seeing the progress I had hoped for from the beginning. Tattooing isn't just about artistic ability. It's also about professionalism, communication, reliability, and respecting clients who trust you with their money, time, and bodies. I gave Nico nearly two years of patience, understanding, and opportunities. I wasn't asking for special treatment, just the work I paid for and basic respect for my time. I genuinely wanted this experience to work out, and I wish things had turned out differently. Unfortunately, based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend Nico. I hope sharing my experience encourages better communication, professionalism, and accountability for future clients.
