Staff is friendly although there is a new face every time I go in there. Must not be such a great place to work if the turnover is so high. My biggest problem with this place is that there computers never work efficiently and it always seems to take 15 minutes for computer to recognize your fingerprint and for system to actually load at a normal speed. They offer discounts on beds and products and on Sundays with the purchase of a lotion packet you can upgrade to the next level bed. Love that. I'm very disappointed in Soleil Tans because of the problems I've been having booking an appointment. The first appointment I booked through corporate, I showed up the day of the appointment and they said I wasn't in the book- I had to wait an hour. The second time I booked an appointment through corporate, (hoped that the first time was just a one-time accident) I showed up for my appointment and once again, it wasn't in the book, and was told I couldn't get sprayed that day and booked an appointment for the next day. I told the girl what happened the past two times and she made sure I was set for the next day. Guess what- I went the next day and my appointment still wasn't in the book!! Luckily I was able to get sprayed though. I called customer service afterward and talked to the woman on the line about what happened, she cut me off mid story and told me someone would call me back to talk about it, and I still haven't been contacted. It's unfortunate because the girls working there are really nice and do a good job! It's just frustrating not being able to trust that when I book an appointment I'll be set-especially since I live 30 minutes from the salon. read more

This place is awful! If you set up and account w them you will never be able to cancel it. They say you are calling "customer service" mean while all you talk to is an answering machine. It takes months for them to call back and in the mean while they keep charging you even though you aren't using the salon anymore. It's the worst money hungry buisness I've ever dealt with. Great place to tan in Edison. Lots of great beds, good prices and the staff is awesome. Always running promos so I always feel like I'm getting a great deal. I don't go too often but feel as 2 tans in a premier bed keep me tan for weeks (olive skin). I highly recommend Soliel Tans! read more

I love this place. The beds are awesome and the spray tans are amazing. I have gone to other places for a spray tan but nothing beats the results from this place. The staff and the owner are really nice and great at what they do. HOWEVER, I have a major issue getting an appointment for a spray. I think that is why I stopped going to this place for spray tans because it was almost impossible to get an appointment. You are forced to call the corporate office where they never answer the phone during their "open hours" and even when you leave a message (or two) they still do not return your calls. I had even tried calling one or two of the salons for an appointment and after two calls to the actual salon I was able to get an appointment. It is just very inconvenient to have to call a place a multiple times to get an appointment. There has to be an easier way to get an appointment. I would definitely go back here more often if it was easier to get a spray tan appointment. read more

Went in one day and many of the bulbs were out, after telling the staff they said they would put in a maintenance request and did not know they were out. I came back they next morning and the bulbs had already been replaced, that is great service! read more

I don't go bed tanning, but I think Soleil Tans is the best place for spray tans. I got a spray tan package a while ago for a good deal (I dont remember the exact price), but I got six spray tans that never expire. All spray tans are professionally done by a staff member, and the workers here always make you feel super comfortable and are very friendly. The only downfall is that scheduling spray tans can be a nightmare! It used to be simple, just log onto the site and send an e-mail asking for a certain date and time. However, the link has been broken for a while. I have left messages and never got calls back to book appointments. However, compared to other places in the area, this is the best place to go for a spray tan. They also have good deals/promotions for bed tanning for those who are interested. read more

Ok . I can only speak about Customer service and ease of cancelling. My daughter opened a membership and followed the instructions. Sent a certified letter. I called and sent a separate E-mail to verify. Tom from Guest services called me back within 15 minutes that nite after buisness hours. I explained that my daughter was in college and wasnt using the membership. He called me back the following morning and cancelled the membership plus gave her credit for free tans as a non member to make up for not using her membership..So I was very pleased with there response on the membership issue.. read more

I've been to several tanning locations in the area and Soleil is a top choice. The staff I've dealt with have always been more than helpful. If there's ever an issue the owner takes care of it right away (I had a problem once with the stand up bed and the owner called 3 times until the issue was resolved). Only con is the price. $22 a month for unlimited is a great deal but $18 WITH a membership for 12 minutes in the Solarix is a bit ridiculous. read more

I've been a member of Soleil tan with a VIP membership for the past 4 years. Loved going there for my 15 minutes of "heaven." Always came away feeling great. Always get compliments on my tan. It's a really nice bronze and not orange like I've seen on some people who tan. The place is very clean and in general the staff is very pleasant they are just not always that knowledgeable about special promotions that are going on and/or how to enter them into the computer program. Went for 3 years and rarely if ever had an issue. Recently have had an issue almost every time I went there. It's been something else. I hate to complain and I don't need to be comped for being inconvenienced I just want them to fix things. Although I do have to admit that each time I complained, I got a call directly from a manager or owner. So customer service is good. Music has also changed. Used to like the music they played. Now I am hard pressed to find a channel that I enjoy listening to. Never been anywhere else so don't have anything to compare it to. read more

Update to my previous 1 star review: the owner called me to talk to me more about my experience and completely made things right. They staff also was extremely nice after my negative experience and was really helpful and apologetic. I went for my 1st time in their strongest tanning bed & I got so much color. I joined the VIP Monthly package so you get to upgrade to the stronger beds for half price. Wish they didn't charge that much when you have a package but I'll decide after the 1st month if it's worth it. The place is immaculate & the girl at the desk was friendly & informative. read more

Where do I even begin with this place.... ugh so I fill out an application on craigslist for a job position in sayerville.They call me back and set up an interview in a couple days, I go to the interview all goes well. I then have to drive to edison right from sayerville to meet another manager, all goes well there too. I then get a call later that evening tellin me I have to go meet a third manager in matawan in two days. So of course I go and all goes well. In all three intervoews I asked if the training is paid and how much. They all tell me yes and 8.00 until I take a test then 8.50 later that night I get a call to schedule my training days. She proceeds to tell me the first day I will be in edison, the second in millburn and the third and fourth in matawan. First off I live in the middletown area so why are they makin me drive to millburn for 8am if im going to be always working in sayerville? anyway ii agreed to drive there just once. The morning of my first day of training arrives and I head out to be at edison salon from 3-10 I get there a little early and begin to read all the information for the test so I can take it in an hour, after taking the test and passing I was then trained my a manager for four hours. He let me go at 8pm and was expected to be in millburn at 8am sharp the next morning. I woke up at 545 to leave at 630 to drive an hour away. While driving up there my car begins to overheat and smoke. So I properly get in touch woth a manager and tell them my situation. I explain that i will make it there as soon as I can and im very sorry. She tells me not to worry about it and shell see me tommrow. The next morning I planned to leave my house at 730 to make it to the matawan salon a little before 8am . At 725 a manager goves me a call to tell me that they dont see me being a good candidate and maybe in the future something will work out. I wxplain my side of the story to try to make him see I could not help anythong that happened.he cared to listen and proceeded to let me go. A couple days later I find out that three other girls had quit the salon because of the disorganozation & lack of respect for their employees. Moments later I was not surprised to get a phone call from the manager with him tellin me their was a misunderstanding and he wanted me to come back. I told him exactly how I feel and how completly disorganized and shitty this company is & that I found a better job. I then ask him when and where I should go pick up my paycheck for the day I did work. He proceeds to tell me it will be sent in the mail to me that they get paid on tuesdays. A day later a manager texts me to tell me there must have been confusion that I will not be getting paid for the first day. I insisted a paycheck bwcause thats what I was told from the beginning from every single manager. I demand the boss' s phone number and she gives me some shitty office number that I was told by someone else that he will never answer! I went to the sayerville salon myself to get a direct cell phone number to him. I have called him five times, leaving five voicemails and no reply. I will go and report this company and get my paycheck whetber that means bringing them to court or having them civily handle this. I reccommend everyone not to use this tanning salon and expecially not to work for them. They treat there employees like shit & under pay them...if they even pay them at all. read more

Being from down the shore, I'm use to fantastic tanning salons. It's a good thing Soleil is not located near the beaches because they would be out of business fast. Prices here are way higher than any other place I have been, and the selection of beds is weak. I was new to the area this past year and wanted to buy a month's membership to get ready for my wedding. I searched around the Edison/Highland Park area, and the pickings are slim as far as tanning salons. I will say Soleil was the cleanest looking venue around here by far, but that's about all they had going for them. The thing that turned me off most about this place are the front desk help. Many times I would show up and have to wait for them to get off a personal call before acknowledging me. Another thing that irked me is that almost everytime when I would go, they would ask if I had lotion and eyewear, which I get the eyewear for safety awareness, etc., and I would respond that yes I had both. They then would demand that I pull them out of my purse to show them, even when the same person was working who I showed the day before! Not for nothing, I'm 30 years old, I don't feel that I should have to "prove" myself to an 18 year old. There needs to be a better system- put a note in people's account or something. I used my overpriced month, got a decent tan, but I will not be back as I left feeling belittled from your salon. read more
