I've never gotten a spray tan before but I would imagine my experience at Soleil Tans to be the best it could be. When I called the phone number to make an appointment, the young man who answered was an EXTREME amount of help (wish I remembered his name!). He had recommended Caroline to do my spray tan and she came out to the Edison location. My friend and I (it was her first time too) were so nervous that we'd walk out looking like a pair of oompa-loompa's before we set off for our vacation in Florida. The girl (if only I remembered hers as well) at the front desk was super friendly and assured us that we were in good hands and she was right! Caroline did a wonderful job on both of our tans and they looked natural and even as if we, like she referred to it as, having that "just back from vacation" look. Tough crowd over here- came into tan after having a really bad day, this always helps and I walk in to find out my credit card that's been on file for months was declined one payment. I wasn't prepared for this, nor did I get a phone call from anyone giving me the heads up. I drove 40 minutes from work just to turn around making the day worse. Im not asking for a free month of tanning, but jeez, I'm a member for the last few months and wasn't offered a tan just for today until it's fixed, or any sort of incentive after paying 70$ every month. Because of this I don't think It's worth coming back here and reinstating a membership. Now it feels like a big waste of money. After quarantine, some things are going to back what is now "normal" i waited a bit to go back for a tan. Of course social distancing will still apply and two people can be inside the salon at once. It was just a long process because there is only one worker to work the cashier and let along clean the beds after one is done. When I had cake around 4 pm, i was literally waiting for the lady at the cashier help the customer for about half an hour. talking about the tanning plans and the lotion bottles. I understand that you want to inform your customers but there is literally other people waiting outside. You need to be more considerate of other people's time. It just sucks that this once was my favorite salon and the only salon i go to. How is this possible? the computer is down? there only one person working? Management needs to re-evaluate how to make this work. I cannot waste al my time to stand in line like this. I had never had to do it before in my entire life of tanning experience. read more

I've been a customer since this location has opened its doors. This place has went down hill year after year. I put my membership on hold & when I wanted to restart my membership he wanted me to pay crazy $$. They have all these gimmicks like email you that your fees can be waived etc.. but then you get there & they charge you all these other fees for nothing to start you back up. It's silly. The turn over here is comical as well. Save yourself $ & join a gym that includes tanning in your monthly membership. I pay $10/month at Planet Fitness & get just as dark as long as I use the right lotion. So here we are again. This is funny, I had a hiccup with this company before and thought we had it all figured out. They offered like 2 free weeks or something and tried to charge me because the credit card was declined. LIKE actually a 50 dollar charge cause it got declined. When a card gets declined in a business it costs you absolutely nothing. I have never seen a business send emails out and keep upping the charge or something I havent even had as a service. After mixed feelings of getting another spray tan (color didn't mesh with my skin tone all that well), I was able to talk to the owner directly and he switched my spray tan package to a regular tanning package after I expressed my concerns. While the tanning might be worthy of a five, their complete lack of communication and promptness with spray tan appointments knocks off a couple stars. I called to set up an appointment since I had a wedding this coming weekend. I was assured by the woman at the location that appointments are easy to get and I could call on Thursday for a Friday appointment. I called Thursday morning and as of this evening, never heard back from anyone to set up an appointment. The fact that you can't just call the location for an appointment is ridiculous. You are forced to leave your name, location and preferred date on a google voice account and then wait. The truth about Soleil tans, I had been searching for a tanning spa being we have had so much rain that my pool was not an option, I saw Soleil was offering a free week on their website, level one beds but I figured it would give me a chance to look the place over, the place was clean no frills and was not looking for any, from the first visit with dealt with Taylor who was their quite often, from the first session she did nothing but try to upgrade me, sell me a package and I had told her at the end of the week I would sign up because their advertised price was reasonable $24.99 per month for their level one bed. The first day was uneventful, the second-day same girl, no towel on the bed, the third day the fan was turned the wrong way and Taylor said I should have turned it around/it happened when she cleaned it-its bolted on. two days later we met Sabrina who told us that if you come by on a Sunday and buy a $6 packet of lotion, you can use their level 5 bed for free (hence) went their Sunday to find that I was not officially a customer and the charge was $24, waste of time. even with the bumps in the road at the end of the week, I went to sign up for their advertised price $24.99, and was told that they had to prorate the next two weeks and then the month was for the following month-they a signup fee which was $49, and some other 10% tax and some sun tax of 7% which came out to $89. Total scam artists, no I see why they immediately send you surveys and every time someone post to Facebook or similar they get a $10 credit to your account to spend on lotion or fees, If you post to google you get a free tan in any bed, that's the reason for the fake reviews! I called they're supposedly corporate office person "Danielle" for help and first off her phone number is actually a free google voice line which she does not answer and does eventually get back to you, but as soon as I mention that the ad shows none of the higher prices and fee's-I was no longer someone she wanted to talk to/Shame Soleil tans another company that is full of BS! read more

I don't typically write reviews but after my experience this afternoon attempting to get a spray tan I felt compelled. I tried to call all day to make an appointment and could not get through to anyone. I walked in at 2:30 to try and get a time. Myself and two other customers waited for over 10 mins to find somebody to talk to. When somebody finally came out to the front she told me "the girl who does spray tans comes in at 3, she already has a 3:30 appointment but can probably squeeze you in at 3 if you come back then." I go back promptly at 3 and was told by the new employee that "oh the girl who does spray tans just left let me see if I can catch her." She then comes back and tried to convince me that I hadn't properly prepared for the spray tan. At this point I walked out as I had no interest in having these liars do anything for me. So I walked into Soleil on Sunday, August 22nd at 3 in the afternoon with the hopes of getting a spray tan that would last me until a wedding on the following Saturday, which I happen to be the maid of honor for. My friend who used to work for Soleil, gave a high recommendation of trying you guys out. It was my first time ever getting a spray tan and most of the time when I lay out, I either burn or my burn turns into a super light tan. So I went in. Initially after the spray, I couldn't tell much of a difference. The following morning, I showered, making sure that it was 12 hours after my tan to make sure the spray had time to set. I didn't rub it off with a towel afterwards, only pat down to make sure that the tan would stay. I knew that some residue would be normal coming off per the website. I was sure to moisturize following the shower and have yet to exfoliate. Today at work (Tuesday, September 24th), I kept getting compliments about how nice I looked and how my tan looked great and so realistic. Only for me to go use the restroom, take my sweatshirt off and notice that my arms, no longer matched my face. Neither did my stomach. I called this location in the hopes that I could get maybe an airbrushed job done at a discounted rate since I had been there only 2 days earlier. The response I got was that the spray only lasts 3-7 days. I mentioned that the website states it's supposed to last 7-10 days and if I wanted to tan again, I would have to exfoliate, come back in, and start from the beginning.. at full price. The woman who I spoke with then told me that it only lasts that long if I follow proper aftercare and if I purchase the tanning care kit. Please explain to me how even when I'm very careful to follow all of the instructions online, I'm ultimately damned because I didn't purchase a kit that wasn't offered to me in the beginning. What started off as a great experience now has me very upset and I'm completely turned off by the whole tanning experience all together. Very disappointed. read more

Absolutely love the red light therapy bed! It's the only place in the area that has one at an affordable price! It's amazing for keeping my skin clear and complexion looking great. I come for the red light therapy more so than tanning, but I do come often in the winter (to get my vitamin D up!) and to have a base before vacation. First off I have never been to a tanning salon before. I had previously met the owner while he was getting his car serviced. I asked a few questions and he told me there was a local Soleil Tans location near my office. I have what us Irish call "Easily Sunburned Skin" so I was a bit nervous about going in. I was immediately and politely greeted by Alyssa who offered me a tour and was extremely thorough in explaining all of their equipment and options. I had a lot of questions, and she was able to answer everything and ease all of my concerns. There was no pressure even though I opted for a starter plan since I didn't know how this would go. She reviewed the options I would have in case I wanted to upgrade and I started off with a short session in a tanning bed that she recommended based on my skin tone - Pale White with Irish Red Undertones - LOL. She reviewed the safety instructions and showed me how to use the machine. After a 7 minute session Alyssa asked me how I felt and if I had any questions or concerns. We reviewed a schedule to come back so that I can work on not burning or turning into a tomato this summer. The facility is immaculately clean and I really felt the Alyssa went the extra mile in providing an excellent customer service experience. Looking forward to going back. read more

I have been a faithful member of Soleil tans for many years. I have tanned at many salons before and Soleil is by far the best I've ever been too. I just recently had a spray tan and I was so happy with the results. My worse fear was being uneven and too dark. But my tan was perfectly even and the perfect color. I've been tanning here for three years now and I wouldn't go anywhere else. The staff is very knowledgable about which lotion would work best for you. The owner was extremely helpful when I had a problem with my monthly fee that was charged double and even compensated me with tan dollars because of the inconvenience. Christina is usually my go-to girl with questions and has helped me a lot in trying to achieve the perfect tan, but the rest of the staff I've dealt with has also helped me a lot. Nice staff and very clean tanning salon. The matrix bed always had problems and one time I bought a tan in any bed package and was upset that I couldn't use that bed. They have good promotions and recently upgraded some of the beds. When I cancelled my unlimited tanning membership the manager didn't tell me I could do so in the store and the person who worked there said all I had to do was come in and sign a paper. I didn't like that the manager didn't tell me that, especially after having been a loyal customer since the salon opened. Once in a while I'd hear staff complain about not being paid on time and I noticed they went through some staff transitions. I didn't like that to get a spray tan you have to call a 1-800 number and make an appointment. Other than that the people are friendly and it's a good place to walk in and get a tan. read more

Staff is friendly although there is a new face every time I go in there. Must not be such a great place to work if the turnover is so high. My biggest problem with this place is that there computers never work efficiently and it always seems to take 15 minutes for computer to recognize your fingerprint and for system to actually load at a normal speed. Great tanning salon until you try to cancel your membership! Although you are able to simply sign up for the membership in the store, in order to cancel you need to send a letter (apparently certified letter, although no one ever explained that to me!) to the corporate office. I did that many months ago and I recently realized that the money has still been coming out of my account! After speaking to someone in customer service they offered me free tans, although I currently live to far from this salon to go, but no reimbursement! In fact they told me that they would make sure my account was canceled, but I just realized another payment came out of my account today! Needless to say I'm not happy about the lack of service I've been receiving! Beware of giving this salon you credit card number! Your better off just paying as you go! UPDATE!
