This incident transpired at owner's Staten Island location..
Several weeks ago I went to Sunbelieveable on a Monday night about 10 pm. Parking lot was very desolate, young girl in salon, alone, I had an uneasy feeling being inside. I spoke with the young lady about locking the door and was told, the owner won't let us and he watches us on the cameras. She told me her Dad felt the same way about her being in there at night alone..Not the first time one of the girls had mentioned him watching on the cameras, not being allowed to lock the door. When I went in today, man was in the office, with the manager who I know very well and have never ever had an issue with, I said, are you the owner, he said "today I'm not" I proceeded to tell him about my experience and conversation with the young lady on that Monday night and expressed my concern for safety reasons and why can't the door be locked at night. He told me he's a business, he's not locking the door girls don't know everyone, what if it's someone who has not been there in a year, he became very aggressive and extremely confrontational..Not going to lie, I called him a jerk, which I felt he was being and I than told him, now I understand why his employees speak so poorly of him and I left...Please see the following emails that I have since received from the business owner, along with my replies..Referencing my age, other businesses I've patronized, extremely extremely unprofessional..

Not a problem, I feel extremely unsafe there anyway. Also, You said you cannot lock the door because a customer from a year ago could show up I thought with Covid policies they were supposed to be no walk-ins anywhere, it was supposed to be by appointment only and if you were adhering to the Covid rules then you would know who had an appointment and therefore you would be able to lock the door

As for your covid concerns yes we do operate by appointment to avoid people waiting next to each other. I am the cleanest salon in town and proud of it. There will be times when people walk in for various reasons like they havent been there since before covid, never been there at all, was just in the area. We tell them at that time in the future to please make appointments. The world isnt a perfect place so sometimes people forget and we remind them. If you owned a business and there were no customers waiting would you tell them to leave? Of course not. When you go shopping for food do you make an appointment? I follow all proper guidelines 100%. Did you notice the sanitizer dispensers in each room on the wall? Not required but I did that to make my clients see I care for their cleanliness. At the end of the day my door nor any other businesses door is being locked. Its going to be opened anyway. So every person that comes to my salon you want us to go to the door and do what? Ask why they are there? Ask for ID? Talk unprofessionally through the door? This would make customers think there is a safety problem. When should the doors be locked at sundown? People only get robbed when its dark? I even have 2 cameras outside. With this logic I guess you dont go to any business after dark and feel safe.
