I've been suffering for the past couple of weeks with intense foot pain - to the point that it's difficult to even walk. My family doctor recommended Dr Jay Larson at Sole Foot & Ankle Specialists. I was able to get an appointment quickly, and this place is great. Dr Larson examined my foot, asked a bunch of questions and had me diagnosed with plantar fasciitis within minutes. They did a couple of x-rays, an ultrasound and followed that up with a cortisone injection and a list of exercises and stretches to alleviate the pain. Dr Larson is an easy-going, easy-to-talk-to guy, and really seems to know his stuff and his staff was awesome. He explained that this issue is common, and is generally resolved within a couple of months of injections, massage and stretching exercises. awesome experience with Dr. Jay. He took time with me to explain my condition and what my options were. I tend to get a little anxious at medical appointments, and he made me feel very comfortable and did not push any particular treatment. He understood and respected my desire for the least invasive treatment. My treatment was successful, and I am very happy with the care that I received. I am not a fan of going to a doctor for anything but if a Podiatrist must see you, I recommend Dr. Ray. He is very caring, listens, and does not make you feel rushed. His staff is professional but easygoing and takes good care of patients. The whole experience was painless. I also got an appointment quickly, which is an added bonus. Dr. Larson was great. His assistant was great too. Sorry I can't remember her name. We talked some and she got my foot X rayed, then assisted doctor. He checked my feet and trimmed my nails. Answered all my questions and advised me how I could help the pain in my foot from arthritis in big toe joint. Metal foot pad I can order on Amazon. Keep my toe from bending, in my too flexible Skechers, and causing pain in joint. I'll probably have surgery sometime next year, so hoping pad helps till then. I got a gel shot in the joint and he was very honest saying it might help it might not and time frame for results he couldn't say. He told me three options for surgery with what each would do. I was happy that he was honest. I'd seen a different doctor several years ago, but he's no longer there. Dr. Larson clarified what I'd been told and corrected errors in somethings I'd been told. I'll definitely go back to Dr. Larson when I need to. Definitely when nails need to be trimmed. He and everyone were pleasant, professional, respectful and overall nice people. Definitely would recommend Dr. Larson to anyone needing a Podiatrist. read more

terrible!! my first clue something was wrong was when i was told in an email that the great doctor i had seen in the past had left the practice. they notified me my appointment had been changed. i agreed. got there on time, but as i signed in, i saw the 3 patients before me were also signed in for the same time with the same doctor. not happy! i waited 44 minutes and finally asked for my co-pay back and said that i was leaving. chaos broke out... 5 people couldn't figure out how to refund me. finally a voice from the back office yelled, "just give him $5 in cash." they did, and i walked out to never return. i didn't appreciate the tongue lashing from some hack in the back office who looked like the last time she used a hairbrush was 1963. she wanted to argue. you have plenty of choices... do not use this office. unless you like to wait an hour or more and like being condescendingly told about how wrong you are. i sure wish i knew where the doctor went... read more

Needed immediate appointment for my son who was having horrible pain in his feet & could barely walk. I'm the mom and I was super worried because my son suffers from Type 1 diabetes. Our Family has a history of diabetes and bad circulation to extremities and several family members have needed amputations. Thankfully the staff at Sole.... came to our rescue. From the ladies at the front desk who were so welcoming. They joked with my son & I making us feel more comfortable while we waited. At one point Dr Doyle went to front desk and we were introduced. The Dr also made us laugh with some small talk before being called back. The nurse asked specific questions about the pain and empathized with us as her son also has diabetes. An X-ray was taken along with a few other tests before Dr Doyle came in. Everything took place quickly yet carefully. The Dr was so easy going. My son felt comfortable asking questions and Dr Doyle thoroughly explained what was causing the pain and how we could resolve the situation with some inserts that were available for purchase there in the office. Dr. Larson is the absolute BEST podiatrist! I've always been plagued with ingrown toenails and have been terrified to get them cut out for fear of too much nail being taken. I'm a couple months overdue for this review but I wanted to thank Dr. Doyle for letting me have such a great experience here for my foot surgery! I had a bunion on my left foot and it was painful and ugly. I had heard great reviews from here so I thought I would try it out. Everybody that works here is so nice and Dr. Doyle did a great job on my foot and he is so nice and approachable. My surgery was back in mid December. The pre surgery appt was simple and smooth and so was the process for setting up my surgery. The scar is still healing but it looks so good compared to others that I have seen. My foot is at 90% in just 4 1/2 months. In the near future I will definitely coming back to do my other foot! thank you!!! read more

Dr. Larson has been a life saver for my feet. His treatments have helped me tremendously and he has always been transparent about my options and possible pain and or improvement levels. He recommended new shoes for me to buy and taught me what to look for in the shoes I purchase for myself and family. He is the foot specialist to myself and I enjoyed his services and education so much that I scheduled my 16 year old and 8 year old to get their feet and ankles examined. This doctor should be the example other doctors should work to be more like. It is easy to make an appointment, get in soon, and not 3 months in the future. The prices are also very low for all the services we receive. The doctor and staff also is willing to work with you on what is necessary and what you can afford. When it comes to the doctor, Dr. Doyle has been kind and friendly for both myself and my wife's visits. He was able to not only show us what he was talking about on our feet, but also on X-Rays. He took his time, didn't rush as we asked content question after question, and kept a sense of humor with us too. We never felt rushed as a patient which is what we get at every other office. The best thing is he is able to identify normally what happened by his thorough questions of recent activities and knowledge of patients pain responsiveness. I have a lot of challenges with my feet and am trying to postpone surgery with injections. I was seeing an ortho foot dr. for many years but recently switched insurance companies and was no longer able to see him. I was given a referral to Sole Foot and Ankle by my PCP. I was very hesitant on going to a different doctor. The front desk staff was ok but the technician who first spoke with me in the room along with Dr. Larson were both wonderful. They were kind, patient in listening to my lengthy medical history and were sympathetic over my foot pain and that I was not ready to do surgery (which is inevitable). He gave me the injections in a way which hurt less than when the prior dr. did them. I appreciated Dr. Larson and his assistant and was glad I was given the referral to him. read more

I really liked Dr. Larson and the care he took of my feet. The problem was not him, but, office procedures. I was scheduled for my toe nails to be cut at 8:30am on 2-20-20. At 4:00pm on 2-19-20 I received a phone call telling me that I could not be treated using my co-pay of $25.00 because my referral expired on 1-24-20. I could keep my appointment for the next day, but, the charge would be $104.00. That was the option I was offered. Now how would I know anything about my referral expiring? No one told me that was my responsibility. I no longer drive and live in a retirement community where I make special arrangements for transportation. That changed transportation arrangements for everyone here who had a medical run scheduled. I told the male person to forget it and hung up. That is not my only unhappy experience. My first visit with Dr. Larson was probably about 2 1/2 years ago. The front desk person was holding my insurance card in her hot hand and telling me my co-pay was $45.00 and I am telling her it is $25.00 and she is arguing with me while people in the waiting room are taking this all in. Then she is trying to tell me I have the wrong card - which was not so. She needs an attitude adjustment! Sorry Dr. Larson! You are an excellent podiatrist and I miss being able to see you! Went to office today for the first time. I was worried about a bad foot problem I am experiencing. I was made very comfortable from the moment I walked through the door. My mom is a patient of Dr Larson's, after every appointment she goes on and on about how wonderful he is. She has had foot pain for years but since seeing him has been doing much better.
