We hired Ellensburg Solar for a residential solar install. While the physical installation appeared…read moreclean, multiple material substitutions were made without written change orders or documented approval. These included changes to panels, inverter count, combiner setup, and breaker types. After installation, I requested reconciliation between what was represented and billed versus what was installed. Over several months, I received inconsistent documentation and no clear itemized breakdown. Proposed remedies were conditional, including warranty limitations, which I declined. The contractor ultimately stopped working toward resolution. The experience has been painful, and we regret ever hiring them. Homeowners should ensure all substitutions are documented and approved in writing before installation.

The site visit with Tanner went smoothly. The instal team were great, and did a fine job as well and answering my many questions. Where things were a bit less wonderful were, from my point of view, the challenges with communication. There were a number of these and the last one is the reason for 4 rather than 5 stars. A week after the utility company gave the final okay, there has been zero contact from Banner. Not a "how are things going?" nor a "thanks for working with us" or even an attempt to sell us on their maintenance plan. :) Today, the final payment request arrived, from a no reply email no less. Maybe I asked too many questions or it was the fact that I had an issue with the payment schedule not being made clear?

Derek was very specific  in answering all my questions about which generator to purchase.   There are so many options that it was a big job to find  the correct one.  His understanding of how to wire items into the solar grid is very impressive.   Jenny is very knowledgeable in her areas of the loan process she works very closely with the puget sound credit union to try to get you the best financial deal out there.  She seams to be very up to date on the changes in the local and federal mandate for solar energy. She has a great way of explaining what is feasible now and with is financially available.  Explaining that things in future can change for better.  Derek and Jenny work hand in  hand to get you the client the best you can reasonably afford.   I had a few concerns over a few items they were able to give me the exact answers I needed.   I worked very hard to understand and research questions I had.  I was able to text and call everyone involved with the process of my solar panel job.  It is a big decision with all persons involved.   I felt that when I had questions they tried very hard to get back to me with in a reasonably short time.

Being concerned about the climate crisis and wanting to do as much as we possibly could to minimize…read moreour reliance on fossil fuels and nuclear power and be a positive example for others, my wife and I, after researching several companies, signed a contract with Puget Sound Solar to install 28 solar panels in 2014. I was immediately surprised at just how much energy a solar array in Seattle could produce in winter. In 2021, after 3 summers in a row of wildfire smoke in Seattle, we made a decision to remove our chimneys and let go of the nostalgia of a wood fire. By removing two chimneys, we created space for 10 more panels, added an electric induction stove, a heat pump, and closed our account with the gas company. With net metering by Seattle City Light, various state and federal tax incentives, the entire installation has nearly paid for itself. Phone and email support from the company has always been stellar, and the technicians punctual, friendly, and efficient. Thank you Jeremy and the folx at Puget Sound Solar!
