My experience with Solar Ray was a nightmare. I decided to go solar and quoted several companies, Solar Ray was right in the middle, but I decided to go with them because they are a local business here in Orlando, FL. What a huge mistake... everything was great throughout the selling and installation process, but my nightmare started last December when one on my inverters failed and stop working, tried to contact them, leaving voicemails for days and nobody got back to me. Finally, after a month of chasing them down in January they decided to stop by the house and check my inverter, came in, saw the inverter and both Mike and Alex agreed that the inverter failed and under warranty had to be replaced, charged me with a service call of $300.00 and left. After 3 or 4 months! of me following up, trying to find out when my inverter was going to be delivered, chasing them down, for them I was no longer a customer, I was just a problem they did not want to deal with. After 4 months of waiting, Solar Ray said to me, you know what, your inverter is NOT coming, actually your damage was caused by a lightning and is not covered by the warranty and gave me 2 options, one of $3,000.00 and the other for $4,000.00 if I wanted to get my inverted fixed... I called another local solar company, they came in, evaluated my situation, looks like it was an installation problem that caused water to get into the inverter and damaging the unit. They did all the work and "all in" for the repair cost me under $1,000.00. I will never call Solar Ray ever again. read more

Horrible after sale service. After I had a error code on my inverter for a week, I tried contacting Solar Ray for service. I tried calling them, emailing them, texting them, left voicemails, facebook and nothing. I called SMA myself, created a ticket, forwarded the info to them and i got a text saying that they will check it out "tomorrow and get back to me". They haven't gotten back to me and I had to hire someone else to look at it. According to SMA it was an installation error which is probably why they decided to never get back to me. Horrible service. Even if they quote you a decent price, their system will cost you more long term because they don't stand by their install and service. read more

I had talked to a few solar companies about having a system for my house. Instead of providing information I wanted to know, like how the system works, what will be installed, what I should expect of the system, they focused so much on trying to have me sign up on spot with gimmicks like no more electric bills, free installation, 0% finances, or even cash bonus when signing up. Of course, I would never sign up on spot; I asked for just written quotes and the system information. Online reviews showed how many people have been deceived and disappointed by promises from these companies. Online search also showed a few other companies that seemed more promising. I called those other companies in to provide quotes. Solar Ray was more expensive than most others, but then their panels and equipment were also better than others. Their price breakdown was also provided in detail, with spec sheets included. Plus, their warranty, 25 years parts and labors, was not offered by any other company I contacted. So, I decided to go With Solar Ray. They maintained communication throughout the whole process. The installation was professional and efficient. The panels looked great. The instruction provided for me to work with my utility company to get the system up and running was easy to follow. 5 months since my system was installed, and it has been working flawlessly everyday. Their monitoring system shows in real time how much energy is produced, how much is used, and how much is sent back for credit. So far, I have saved roughly $120/month after the loan payment. It will summer soon, and I am excited to see what it will look like. Thank yourself for spending time to read all these reviews and doing some research. I have contemplated on leaving a review on how I really feel about this company, and have realized that my review might help others, so here we go.. I had spoken to their sales agent Alex and the company owner Michael, and they at first promised so many wonderful things and have fell short on every single one of them. When they were trying to seal my sale, they were kind and attentive and very consistent. Once they received the payment, which was not cheap by the way, they started to ignore my calls, never returning my calls and messages. I have holes on my roof due to the poor installation. I spoke to Michael Brown, the owner. and he had the most horrible attitude, he spoke to me like I was not worth anything. He also treats his employees like garbage as well, that is why he does not have a single person that works with him for more than a couple of months. All his staff has left. Why? Because he is a horrible human being. And this company needs to be looked into and shut down. If you are looking for a solar company steer clear of solar ray!! WASTE OF MONEY!!! read more

Solar-Ray quoted me the best price of several companies and their solar systems come with an advantage that many do not - the ability to use your solar power when the electric grid is down. I met with several companies before selecting Solar-Ray to install my residential PV solar system. Most companies tried to sell me a canned system that included micro inverters or optimizers that I didn't need. Those add cost, add breaking points, and only really help if the system is set up under shaded areas (and why would you want to do that?). Field representative Mustafa was extremely knowledgeable and was engaged in every step of the process. While other companies estimated 8-10 weeks or more for installation, Solar-Ray had my system installed in about 3 weeks. Then after inspections and connection with OUC, I was up and running in just over a month. Now my system is generating more than enough electricity for my home. Solar electricity is a great investment. Solar-Ray increased the return by keeping costs low and minimizing wait time for installation. read more

We've had our system for almost 8 years. Our system performance has consistently exceeded expectations. The crew that installed our system was top notch. They made the process extremely easy and offered an upgrade path since we started with a 7.5kw system knowing at some point we would acquire an electric car. While running 7.5kw we were virtually net zero cost on our electric bills. Solar Ray did our upgrade to full 10kw in 2019 after we purchased a Tesla and achieved similar results. We knew we had made the right choice for many reasons, but the real proof has been their stellar service! We have had few issues and mostly "user errors" that Solar Ray has always provided solutions and when we recently had a leak in our roof that professional roofers suggested was solar panel mount related was fully addressed and ultimately was confirmed as an issue resulting from our builders roofing contractor. Solar Ray fixed the issue even thought it turned out to be a builder issue. I can't say enough about this company and would recommend them to family or friends. And one additional comment that anyone owning a home regardless of the company choice should strongly consider using Solar Panels. Interest rates are dropping but utility rates will continue to rise. And the utility companies you'll find are investing heavily in Solar themselves and rightfully so. In addition, thankfully to available Federal Energy programs, a 30% tax credit is available thru at least 2032. Do you homework and research several companies before making a decision but make sure you consider Solar Ray! read more

They do not have any costumer support, terrible service, I strongly advise to not buy from this company. After 3 years of my system operating it stop working, I contact them they send a third party technician that charged $320 and did not fix the system. The worst problem was that they took 4 months (without my system working properly ) to answer my call. During this period I left more than 40 calls and several email, never answered. Finally after 4 months they came down to check my system and the conclusion was the fault was the electricity provider that was kicking off my system and they could not fix. I suspected because several house in my street have solar power and they were working fine. I called another company and 15 minutes of troubleshooting they discovered my system has a faulty circuity breaker, in 5 minutes it was fixed. That is the level of customer service. Be aware, they promise the world to sell, but them you are by yourself with a bad system. They charged $320 and my system was not fixed They wanted to charge more $500. I hire another company and the charge only $150 where and my system was fixed in 5 minutes. read more

After researching many local solar companies, we decided to go with Solar Ray, and so glad that we did. Our sales agent Alex was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions and concerns. The installation crew was awesome and had everything installed in about 6 hours. Our bill has been almost close to nothing since installing our new system! I was one of Solar-Ray's first customers almost 10 years ago and was told I had a 10 year equipment warranty on the system they installed. I started experiencing issues with my system about a year and a half ago and I cannot even get them to return my calls or texts. I tried more than 25 times with no luck. Their receptionist will answer the phone and tells you someone will call you right back, but no one ever does. My system continues to fail and they have no interest in helping me fix it. It is hard for me to accept that I was actually a reference for this company years ago. If you ask me today I would recommend staying away from this company and the products they sell, unless you would like a very expensive decoration on your roof. My 5.3 KW system is now outputting less then half of what it used to be and keeps going down, don't waste your money on solar or this company. read more

Amazing experience start to finish. Everything went almost as scheduled and Solar Ray made changes to accommodate the install when we ran into issues. Every problem we ran into was a minor issue. Without asking for a solution they were on top of it and always went above and beyond to resolve the hiccups. I can't say enough good about this company and the employees that work for Solar Ray. I shopped 4 different companies. Solar Ray was right in the middle price wise, but was the only company that came out to survey my home. Solar Ray identified issues with trees in my neighbors yard that the other companies did not. All companies wanted to do it over the phone and not take the extra time to do a thorough job with a site visit. My wife did all the Solar Company reviews in the area and Solar Ray was the best. We ended up going with them and couldnt be happier. Everything they told us came true. From Alex in Sales, the Installers were prompt and courteous and left the job site as good as they found it. Carl the end electrician was great.
