Family and friends were shocked at how smooth and quick it went(all had used other companies) When installation day came they showed up exactly when they said they would. All employees were very nice and respectful. Afterwards they walked around picking up any scrap of garbage and packaging. They organized everything with PG&E. The day after install PG&E was here connecting it! That was 8/14 then we knew PTO could take until 10/02 but we received notice of PTO on 9/04! After install Ambrose noticed there was an issue that they could see on their end so notified us and came right out and fixed it within 10 minutes. Our roof Foreman Omar was fantastic. He went above and beyond to give us installation expectations and was able to communicate potential work order changes needed to bring our roof up to code. Omar also went above and beyond to work with helping clean up our neighbor's yard. There was windy weather that blew some of our material into their yard which didn't go unnoticed. We didn't know this till after roof completion and our neighbors were impressed by the thoughtfulness of the guys working. Our project Manager Johnathan was also a great source of help through this process and was very understanding and sympathetic to our unfortunate unknowns that needed to be fixed. From start to finish he was able to walk us through the difficult navigation of cost and what absolutely needed to be fixed right. He was direct, knowledgeable, and able to work through the hard conversations with us as owners and we greatly appreciated all the help we received. We received an all new roof, gutters, downspouts, and lots of wood work to bring everything up to code. There were hardware glitches after installation, but the Got Watts team reliably spotted them - without me realizing there was even an issue - and sent teams out to ensure my equipment worked as promised. Years later I noticed some leaks through my roof where some phase 2 panels were installed. I notified Got Watts and they sent large crews to my home to rectify the issue over several days. This was no small fix. They probably spent vastly more to rectify the leaks than they did to install the panels to begin with. No one likes to have problems with an install. But, it means a lot for a contractor to honor their commitment and spend vast sums to honor their warranty, and their word, to their customer. I've had "good companies" make promises they wouldn't honor once the initial check cleared. Got Watts was true to their word and treated me in a dignified manner that is rare these days. Having East Bay Power Systems design install and certify a rooftop solar panel system has been a…read morewonderful experience. Working with the team (Darlene, Jeff, David etc.) to get the system designed and installed was very easy, they took care of everything, including getting the city to approve the design/installation for PG&E. Installation was a simple one day process, and best of all, we were essentially off the grid the next day. Interestingly East Bay Power Systems use American made solar panels (Aptos) and an American made power backup system (Tesla). Not only does the system perform flawlessly, because of there high output of the Aptos solar panels (up to 450W per panel) the whole array of 10 panels is virtually unseen. As an added bonus, they set up a Tesla app on your phone so you can see at a glance how mush power the system is generating, how much is being used to power the house, how much is used to charge the backup system and how much power is being sold to PG&E. For a system this good, overall cost was relatively low, far less than what I was quoted 5 years ago by two different companies. You may have noticed all my reviews to date on Yelp have been 5 star, this is deliberate. Life is too short to focus on that which does not make us happy. This is why I restrict my reviews to those things/places/services that make me happy and appreciate life. Sure, I have been to some really dreadful shops, hotels and restaurants etc., but, like I said, life is too short to spend time thinking and writing about them.

Sometimes she would call to give me a message only to realize that she had called the wrong customer. Did not enjoy working with her. Finally, Kara engaged and we got the Permission to Operate about two months after the install. Supposedly Jeff (the Business Owner) is no longer with the company and has gone back East, so not sure who is leading their future efforts. For future customers: hang on to a portion of the payment till the Permission to Operate is received not just the installation.

(to prevent pigeons ) They told me and my wife on at least five occasions, that we were in the schedule and not to worry. I took the owner and office manager at their word. I was personally while looking in the owners eyes that bird netting would be installed. Last week they sent the salesman over to drop off a box of bird netting and said it wasn't in the contract so they were not going to have it installed. We had 2 different contracts so I don't honestly know if it was there or not, but I take a man at his word. Micheal (Owner) gave me his word while we were waiting on the city inspection of the power box. Now I fear my warranty on the entire system is as WORTHLESS as his word.

He was direct, answered questions, and numbers for payback were in line with mine (big box Solar doesn't know how to do specific payback calcs. I knew what I wanted. Before signing Steve came out and did a quick job walk. This is what gave him the contract; the closest competitor said he didn't need to do one. RW took care of permitting and inspection - streamlining contra costa paper process and getting the inspector our quick after install. Install took a day. The longest wait was PGE as expected for their back end part. On install they used external conduit but painted and did it tastefully so you can barely tell (our house had internal prepped for Solar but there was issue with the pull tails). Also had a small issue a month after install and they took care of the issue within one day (called in morning and they fixed in afternoon). Good customer service.
